Vain, as she was often called, was new to the darkness that surrounded her. She wandered the city on one of her first nights with disgust and excitement - once a lone, foolish slayer, turned into a Vampire. The things she thought she hated. Could she stand to this forever? Wander as a creature?
Oh yes, I could
She felt better than ever, as if energy had been directly dripped into her veins. She couldn't believe that she wanted to rid the Earth of these.. These Gods. New, and frankly ignorant, she spent the night hours without company just enjoying the way her new eyes saw the world of Harper Rock.
Duvaineth herself was a pale, defined girl. Pillowy lips, a once-broken nose, and long ginger-red hair. She wore a leather trench coat, which hid her petite figure, jeans that had seen better days and a scruffy band t-shirt. The last things she had worn as a human. Her boots were heavy but the graceful nature of her walk permitted each step silence.
She thought she was alone.

Re: Newly Sired (Open)
Looking at her, he could she was newly turned. She didn’t have the confident stride or bearing that came from becoming at one with the power they now possessed coupled with the knowledge that they now had eternity in front of them, and there was no need to rush to do anything. But these new ones, these were the ones that needed to be watched. To be taught about the masquerade. To inculcated with the very distinct knowledge, that should they **** the hell up.. there would be those like him, that cut them down and send them to fade. Granted it was the sire’s job to do that, not his. And he wasn’t volunteering. But it wouldn’t hurt to follow her for a bit, to at least get an idea of whether she needed a lesson or not.
Doc’s upper lip curved in disdain in regard to her ratty attire. She appeared unkempt, her clothes dirty, meaning mostly likely, she was unwashed as well. What was it about youth today, that thought it was ‘cool’ to look or be disheveled and grungy? He on the other hand, went above and beyond to be neat, clean and always well dressed. Tonight was no different. A dark suit, monochromatic shirt and tie, so he could fade into the shadows easier, if speed was needed. Perhaps it was the generational difference. He personally took pride in his appearance, it was clear so many others did not.
Pausing as his cell phone vibrated at having received a text, he sighed in a long-suffering manner as he read it. China had maxed out another one of his credit cards. That was it. He was cutting her off. She had enough ******* clothes. **** .. she had enough clothes, that she could share them all with her sisters and still have too many. He made a mental note. Next time, instead of burning her clothes, he would just ******* kill her instead.

Re: Newly Sired (Open)
She thought she heard something. She didn't turn her head, focussing instead on listening. Her hands combed through her hair. Avoiding her family's home for the days she'd spent in this new form had lead to a certain level discomfort. She felt dirty, and not in a good way.
She struggled to focus on anything, too. She felt hungry. Dissatisfied. She continued to wander, aimlessly, with a slight drag to her feet. She adjusted her coat, biting her bottom lip. Her lips had adorned a blue-ish tint, matching her pale complexion. The only colour on her skin belonged to the freckles that scattered across her nose. 18, just, and at that point she realised she'd be like this forever. Young, baby-faced even.
Well that's no fun, she thought. Vain had hated her youthfulness, hated the way people always looked down her. Now she was damned to endure that forever.
She turned a corner, trailing her hand across the rugged brick of an uninteresting building. Even touching was different to her now.. She wanted to touch more things, feel expensive material like velvet. She wondered how different it would be now.
She finally glanced around, her greyish eyes searching someone else in the shadows that appealed to her.

Re: Newly Sired (Open)
Doc dismissed the text alert from his bank. He would have Jane take care of it tomorrow. Pocketing the cell, he looked back down the street, the direction the youngling had been headed. She wasn’t in a hurry to get anywhere. He shoved his hands in his pockets and followed her. He shook his head, young vampires had enough bravado to not realize that they could still be killed. And if they were killed at a young age, before they had time to learn the basics.. they could be stuck in the fade for eternity. He had lost one of his own to the fade.
Orla had been beautiful and sweet. Truth of the matter was, she was not strong enough to handle the life she would have to lead. She tried, she failed. Being her sire, he should have felt some sadness, but he six other childer that demanded his attention. So why was he following one that wasn’t even his? Mainly because she was headed toward a known spot for vampire hunters, and she probably didn’t even realize it. She would blissfully ignorant of that fact, head straight for it. And if she were the daring sort, she might even be tempted to have a look inside.
As she turned the corner, he knew that she had finally realized he was there. It wasn’t like he was trying to hide the fact. But if she decided she wanted to play ‘hide and seek’, she could just take her chances with the hunters, he wasn’t in the mood for games, unless he set the rules at the beginning. Usually starting with, “**** with me and I ******* shoot you..”, It seemed to work with most of his spawn. However tonight he wasn’t even in the mood for that, unless it involved a lot of gratuitous violence.

Re: Newly Sired (Open)
He’d spawned, again. A redhead no less. With a shake of his head, he left his apartment to hunt up his newest childe. If there was one thing he’d learned after trial and error, it was how to be a good sire. Well, if no good, at least one that gave a **** and owned up to his responsibilities. So it was he found himself searching the town for the young woman. There was so much to teach her and he was determined that he was going to be the one who taught her, plus there was the family to introduce her to as well.
He wandered, one section of town while Anna searched another and his wraith still another. Between the three of them they could cover a fair bit of territory and find her before she got into some kind of trouble. Or sunburnt. He made a mental note to give her the keys to one or two of his apartments, kit her out with weapons, and make sure she had cash, or at least a bank account she could access. Mal believed his childer should be given a leg up, something his own sire had done for him.
After a few hours of searching, he spotted her in the darkness and quickened his pace. The area she was headed toward wasn’t one he would choose for his childe to roam about it, not without a weapon anyway. Which was exactly the reason why he was carrying two guns tonight, and ammo of course. His nose wrinkled when he got a good look at her, she looked in need of a shower. Of course, he supposed he didn’t look like any great shakes either, dressed as he was in an old pair of faded jeans, a white tank top that revealed his arms (and the many tattoos that covered them), and a pair of black DC’s. He plastered a friendly smile on his face as he jogged across the street toward her, looking for all the world like a...well, he supposed he probably looked like some kind of thug, but hopefully, she wouldn’t run off.

Re: Newly Sired (Open)
My mind shifts away from the force that I believed to be following me as I notice the man coming towards me with a purpose. I turn my head away and quicken my pace in fear - without even getting a good look at him. Two presences were too much to deal with, but maybe she'd gotten herself into trouble. Was there some sort of polite secret society she had rumbled? She certainly hoped not.
She could, of course, hear footsteps behind her. She refused to look back, choosing to play deaf, hoping even one of the two would be dumb enough to think her human, and leave her alone. Though, she supposed, then they might think her food.
Duvaineth was unarmed, and weak. She had scarcely fed and avoiding everyone, human or no, since being sired. She'd even gotten into the habit of forcing herself to breath, as a comfort to look more human just to herself. She didn't regret the transformation, however much it scared her. Things were too bright now, because of it.
Hoping to lose the followers, she took a sharp turn into a dangerous alley way, picked up her feet into a tired run.

Rounding the corner, Doc could tell she had picked up her pace and was trying to put distance between them, he sighed. All he really wanted to do was make sure she didn’t go and break the masquerade; now it looked like he was going to have to chase her down as well. Well ****. His irritation grew mainly because he had new spawn himself, he needed to track down and give the ‘break the Masquerade and I will ******* kill you’ speech too. He just happened across this one first.
Doc could use celerity, and cut her off, block her egress and thus make her face him. However that could backfire, and make her presume an attack was imminent. Those thoughts halted and shifted sharply, when another vampire entered the scene. Doc stopped.
The new person a male, had a purpose to his stride. It wasn’t the walk of someone trailing like himself. No, this was the gait of someone pointedly moving to intercept, though not in an aggressive way. Deciding to hold his position where he was, Doc would just watch and listen for the moment. If things went well, he would be on his merry way to find his own wayward Spawn.

Terrific, just what he hadn’t wanted, she was spooked. With a heavy sigh of irritation, he pursued her, the smile melting from his face to be replaced with a scowl. So much for the nice guy approach. When Mal saw her turn into an alley, he thought he was catching a break and the jog broke into a run. He wasn’t in the mood to play games, that much was sure. No, he needed to talk to her and explain...maybe instruct was a better word...what this new life he’d thrust her into entailed.
Things like how to survive, how to feed, where it was safe to rest, what was and was not acceptable behavior, how to keep from getting caught doing, well, anything, really. Being older, stronger, and faster, catching her wouldn’t be an issue for him. If worse came to worse, he could simply shoot her, but he really didn’t want to start things off like that, did he? His mind mulled the thought over for all of three seconds before he discarded it with a shake of his head.
He pelted into the alley on light feet and called out to her loudly enough that she would hear him, “Hey! Slow down and stop running away, we need to talk about a few things, things that are going to save your life one of these nights. I know what happened to you...I’m the one who changed your life.”
