Job Hunt [Renee]

Post by Sean (DELETED 6788) »

Sean hadn’t expected to have landed a job interview so quickly. It was his first day in town, and he already had a possibility of finding a job. He wished he would have had time to head back to the hotel and freshen up a bit more, but he decided to pick up something new to wear for his interview. Shopping was never something he enjoyed indulging in, but his wardrobe hardly consisted of anything that could have been considered professional enough. Maybe he would get a suit? Every guy should own at least one suit, right? For instances like this, and who knew maybe he could find a job where he could wear such a things more often one day. This he doubted…. Fearing he would probably end up with some janitorial job, scrubbing toilets. He would have done it, what ever paid the bills.

It wasn’t long before he would come across a shop, it looked good as any and he was kind of strapped for time. Walking in, he was immediately greeted by some overly zealous sales woman. She welcomed him and inquired of what she could help him with. As he mentioned needing a suit for a job interview, the woman set right to gathering things she insisted he try on. Even though he didn’t wish to have so much attention, the woman was a bit pushy and Sean followed her to the dressing room where she gave him an arm full of things. He thanked her and took the items inside the small changing room and put on one of the suits. It was a light gray color, with a white button up shirt underneath.

Walking out, he held a red tie in hand, clues as to how to put the thing on. He had planned to ask the sales woman how to but was actually relived to see she had moved onto another customer. Turning then, Sean stood before an overly large mirror that was just outside the room where he had changed. Flipping up the collar of his shirt, he would drape the tie around his neck, on the outside of the collar. The red just didn’t look right….
Well look at you, all spiffed up. You going to nail this interview Sean. Said the hallucination he usually didn’t mind so much. It was of a woman, one he had seen once but never got to know. She must have made some sort of impression upon him though as the woman was not a usual constant delusion that lingered.

Sean smiled, he truly hoped things went well. At least that would be one things off the check list. Anything that would work towards getting away from that hotel. He had not been back since his arrival when he had checked in, but he was definitely dreading having to stay at that dive even for a single night. Sean didn’t speak his thanks to the vision, but just smiled to the image of her that he saw in the mirror. Watching as she doted on him, moving some of the stray hairs that hung against his face. The way she brushed a hand over his shoulder and tugged at the collar of the shirt to get it folded down just right. Even though he knew it wasn’t real, there was just something calming about it. He still had no clue how to work the tie and had several failed attempts at doing such.

Renee was finally going to get some shopping done. She had some things that needed her attention at the club but that was not till later on. For now she needed to clear her mind and do something that would help her focus. She had already picked up a cute dress for purple dress for Kara and some simple black heels that she could only hope would fit the girl and that she would like. It was always difficult to shop for others, especially other females.

Other then things that she wanted for herself all she needed now was a shirt or two for Simon. She owned him One after she ruined one of his nice button up and she would repay him ten fold, plus he did look really good in a suit. She made her way into the men's clothing store and began to look around. She found herself first at a red shirt. That was the color of the one she messed up so she would stick to her word and give him a new red shirt, though she couldn't help but get a smaller size just to see it cling tighter on his body. Before long she had one of every color.

She was making her way to the register when a something caught her eye. She stopped and turned to get a better look. A heavy sigh left her mouth before she headed over to the man that was having more then one kindd of problem with his tie. "Excuse me sir but, I couldn't help but, notice that you are having some difficulty with that. Do you mind if I help you out with that?" He looked like he was trying but it wasn't working to well. Chances where that air head that worked here had 'helped' then ran off to do more damage.

Sean jokingly tied the red tie into a loose silly bow, gesturing with his hands like, what do you think. The delusion of the woman, who he called Beth (against his last therapists suggestion), made a face like um I think not. He half considered picking out a clip on and Beth wasted no time in voicing her opinion. You’re not wearing a clip on tie, that’s just….. Fake. Not the sort of impression you want to give for an interview. And yes someone can tell if you’re wearing a clip on. She even answered his un-thought question. Sean undid his tie and held the ends, one in each hand. Glancing around, he didn’t see the sales woman who had helped him earlier.

Sean gave it another go, it had been ages since he had last seen anyone put on a tie before. He had never actually done it himself, but had watched his late father do so several times before. Over, under…. Ya, he didn’t have a clue what he was doing. The hallucination beside him had vanished then and his eyes casted over just as an approaching woman spoke to him. He couldn’t help but smile a little with hearing her words, but as always part of him wondered if she was even real. “Is it that obvious?” Spoken with a light humorous tone. His eyes would look back to the mirror before him, as his hands undid the knotted mess he had made with the tie.

“I have never worn a tie before… Though I wanted to buy a suit and well a tie seemed typical of such attire.” Said still in good spirits, maybe it was the idea of having a job interview that had him in a good mood. At least he was on the right path towards settling down within the new city. He probably wouldn’t even get this first job he applied for but it was the thought and effort that mattered. “I could definitely use some help and would be most grateful for a quick lesson on how to put on a tie.”

Renee let a small giggle leave her as she stepped closer to the man. She put down the shirts she had been holding and picked up a grey tie, one that wouldmatch his suit, and brought it closer to him. "Well first, red is not your color. I would stick to cooler colors like blues, purples and greys." She held upthe tie as she spoke. "Second, it's not as hard as it looks but it does take practice." She made sure the man's shirt was straight before she looped the tie around his neck and slowly began to tie it. Once she was done she stepped back and looked him up and down.

"To be honest, you don't even need the tie. Few men can pull it off but I think you are one, but that is completely up to you." She smiled as she wondered what get was dressing up for that required a tie, especially since get had never tied one before. The thought of asking had crossed her mind, a better idea of what was going on would tell if he needed it or not, but that was not necessarily something you ask a stranger. The fact that she didn't work here helped her keep the question to herself as well.

To hear the small giggle escape her, Sean would relax a bit more and smile still. .His eyes would follow, as she picked up a gray tie and he would pull off the red on that had been around his neck already. As she spoke then, he could not help but repeat a few things within thought, as to set it to memory. Red is not my color, stick to cooler colors. He stood as straight as he could then as she straightened his shirt and looped the gray tie around his neck. Watching then by looking at the mirror as she tied the tie and made it look so incredibly easy. Sean definitely would not be messing with the tie until after his interview, afraid he would ruin it and be unable to get it to look right again.

Her words that followed were both kind and reassuring. “Thank you, for the great advice as well tying my tie just perfect. Next time I’ll go without one, but maybe today it will bring me that little extra bit of luck I need. I’m new to the area, and have my first job interview today.” Spoken as he would look from the mirror and over to her. It was clear the woman didn’t work at the place, he couldn’t help but wonder if she made a habit of helping people like this, or did he really look like he was having that much trouble (because he was).

He began taking the tags off things, his interview was soon and it just seemed wearing the suit out was his best bet. Best to arrive a little early anyways. “I’ll not keep you, kind stranger…. I’m sure you have more important things to tend to, maybe other people in need of such help and great advice.” A smile would follow his words. Sean thought about his cloths that were still in the dressing room and thought he would probably end up trashing them anyways. Those jeans had definitely been a bit worn and had seen better days.

Renee smiled and nodded politely to "Good luck on whatever it is you are hoping to do." She then made her way over to her pile of shirts and tires she had put down and quickly picked them up and headed to the register to pay. Once there she paid for her purchase and then paid for his. She made sure that the lady knew who she was talking about.

She quickly took her leave of the store and made her way to a dark ally. Once she was sure that no one was watching, she shut her eyes and thought of her office. Once she opened her eyes she was there. She placed her bags out of the way behind her desk and quickly made sure everything was as it should be.

“Thanks, I can surly use all the good luck I can get.” His smile held grateful still as he watched the woman walk off. His hopes of this new start were changing, and Sean definitely felt a bit better about this job interview. At least he looked more the professional part. This was thought as he turned to have a look back in the mirror. You should just tuck in all the tags so then you can just bring it all back and get your money back. He can’t do that! Sean you can’t do that, the suit is well worth the investment. He wouldn’t respond to the two voices that rang within his thought. At times Sean couldn’t help but feel as if he had a personal chat line with his id and superego. His two usual hallucinations were always at polar ends of every issue.

Sean paid them no mind though, and would head back to the changing room. The shirt and jeans he had worn in were a bit weathered, so would just end up throwing them out. He began pulling off the tags of the new things as he approached the counter. “I’m just going to wear these all out.” Said as he would place the tags on the counter. The sales lady gave him a look, and it was clear that pulling off tags was not the popper way to remove them. It was to his surprise then when the woman informed him that everything had already been paid for. The woman who had fixed his tie? Just wow…. Sean was a bit blown away. Maybe this just might be his lucky day?

Thanking the sales woman, he would be on his way to the club then. It wasn’t too far of a walk, and Sean would manage to get to the place just in time. Once inside he would be greeted by a woman who introduced herself as Jocelyn. She would ask him to wait, and Sean would stand patiently as she walked off. His mind was thankfully quiet, and he hadn’t even had any cigarettes on the way over. Rather having opted for a mouth full of breath mints, that were now gone. There was something comforting about being back in a club. He had helped out in his father’s two clubs since he was 16, not that it was legal for him to have been in such a place at such a young age.
