As his arm slipped around her neck when she pulled away for just mere seconds, she instantly leaned into him. They probably looked like a cozy couple but she didn't care what people thought. Maybe they were, how would others honestly know unless they asked. As he kissed the top of her head, she smiled. She was typically awkward and tense unless she was gaming or in a comic book store. Killing and Doc were two things that helped her relax and remain at ease.

As he began talking about the heads in response, she smirked. "Totally an amateur but doesn't mean I didn't learn a few things. If I remember correctly...just before you killed me...you gave me pointers on how to sever their heads better. Make the cuts more clean. As for sharp tools...you can thank 'ren faire' for that." Nodding to the other ladies that joined them to remain polite and not make him look bad. "Hello."

Pi excuses herself more or less, which was fine. I was getting tired of talking anyways. When she mentions other people and the idea of us having to talk to them, I just nod. I'm not in a big hurry to talk anyone's ear off. Jules arrives and I wave a hand to her. Now I don't know where to go next if I have to be social. Doc or Jules.

"I don't need a break." I tell Skylar as my hands both go in the pockets of my jeans. "Are we going to do that game yet?" I ask her, because the sooner we do the game and the sooner someone wins, the sooner I think that means the party is going to end. I don't mind about half the crowd, but the other half-well, let's just say it wouldn't bother me if I didn't have to talk to them. I think the feeling is mutual.

My drink’s sitting on the bar but I don’t much care for it in this moment. I’m kinda impressed that Ric doesn’t take a break when it’s offered but kinda bummed when he takes back the hand I was holding. I’m probably being clingier than usual due to everything we’ve been through recently. That and well, let’s face it. Ric’s still a flight risk. I don’t mind hosting a party alone, but I’d really rather not host our wedding party solo.
“If you’re sure babe. And yeah. I’ll get Saph on it”
I smile at Ricky and go to grab my drink from off the counter. I ask Saph to find the quiz sheets for us and then leave her to it. I walk over to Doc and the other’s. I kinda wanna go play doubles with Ellie and Pi but we really do need to mingle a bit for now. I wave at Jules to come join us, but at this point I’m not even sure if Ricky’s gonna come follow let alone my sister-in-law, as I guess that’s kinda what Jules is now.
“Am I gonna wrinkle that suit of yours if I hug you?” I ask Doc.

[Doc]

Doc gave Skylar his usual closed lip smirk. “For you, I will risk it.” He took his arm off of Lennox shoulders and stepped forward to give Skylar a hug. “Have you met my wee one, Lennox?” He glanced at Lennox then back to Skylar, “Lennox this is Skylar, Elliot’s wee one. Skylar, this is Lennox.”

Doc then glanced at the other girls, “Do you know everyone here?” He nodded once briefly, “We have Nerissa, she’s quiet, but she watches and she sees quite a lot. Then there is her sire, Lucretia. She is an artist.” Doc winked at her, “Lastly, we have Lucretia’s date Beverly. I don’t know much about Beverly.” He did know Beverly didn’t care for Nuns all that much, but that did not seem like the party type introduction one expected. Granted he tended to be unfiltered in his speech, but Skylar was the bride, and he actually liked the Groom, so he didn’t want piss either of them off. He looked at Beverly expectantly, for her to supply her own defining introduction.

I smile at Doc when he says he’ll risk it and hug him tightly. I saw him quite a bit over the Christmas period and he always seemed to want the best for Ric and I. He’s technically my uncle too, though I rarely think of him as such.
“Hey Lennox. Nerissa. It’s nice to have faces to put to the names.”
I wonder why Doc calls Pyper Lucretia but I don’t comment. I’d ask Ricky later. Bev calls her Pyper so I’ll stick with that.
“Oh Bev I know. She’s kinda mine. Technically she’s Ric’s, but I’ve claimed responsibility for her too.”
I’m not getting into that story. It’s kinda no-one’s business but ours. Not that I care for my part in it all. I just don’t want people thinking Ric dwells on stupid ****. I mean I’d not given that conversation a second thought after it happened. Ric on the other hand apparently wanted to test the whole soul thing for himself.
“You guys all alright?”
I smile at the ladies.
“There’s an open bar. You can order blood and everything. Sapphire’s cool, so you don’t need to watch what you say in front of her or anything.”

[Nerissa Clemming]

Nerissa nodded at Skylar in hello as Doc made the introductions. So this was the bride. Nerissa thought Skylar was quite attractive with her long blonde hair. She examined the features of Skylar's face so that she could commit it to memory.
When Skylar offered the drinks she held up her empty glass. "Don't worry, I've taken full advantage of the bar." She was curious by what she meant about Sapphire. She could tell the woman working the bar was human, but she didn't seem concerned about the blood like a normal human. Could she be like the guy she met earlier?
"So who exactly is Sapphire? She aware of what we are?"

[Skylar]

I smile as Nerissa shows me her glass. The question she asks though isn’t one I can easily answer. Not with Elliot about; I still need to tell him about Dillon.
“She knows about us. But she’s no threat. She’s a friend.”
Technically not a lie. The girl’s a friend. She’s just a pretty new friend. No way in hell I was gonna risk enthralling one of my actual friends again; that hadn’t turned out well for anyone. That doesn’t make the brunette expendable though. Just makes her a smarter choice. If she’s not all up in my business, she won’t piss Ric off and she’ll be safe.
I look to Ric and smile as I push some of my hair back behind my ear. I should rightly hate the guy but I can’t. I tried. It just didn’t work for me. We’d already split once and I wasn’t going through that again for anyone, not even for Dillon.
“So you settling in to this new life and stuff alright?”
If my timeline is right, the girl’s around a week old or something. Depends if Doc introduced her online the day she was sired or not.

[Lennox Tyler]

As the blonde approached, she casually let her arm fall from Doc as he accepted the offer of a hug. Smiling at the woman, she extended her hand as they were introduced. "It's nice to meet you, Skylar. Congrats on the nuptials." As Doc proceeded to introduce the other, she remained polite with her attitude and posture because her mortal parents raised her properly and she refused (even if her life depended on it) to embarrass, disappoint, or anger Doc, especially since they were at a gathering with 'family'.

It was when Skylar mentioned that they didn't have to worry about the woman behind the bar that made Lennox tense. Her eyes darted to the woman then to Skylar as she explained. A friend? Her eyes shifted to Doc, a look on her face suddenly void of emotion as she processed the information about the woman but her eyebrows then perked as if asking him to find out more other than being a friend and not a threat. Nodding at Skylar's question. "Yes, thank you. I'm just learning, training and trying to find better weapons off of the assholes in the swears and what's lying around in the catacombs."

[Doc]

Doc caught Lennox’ look and nodded ever so slightly. He looked over at the bar and studied the female behind the bar. He had not been over to the bar, but he also did not tend to drink around anyone he didn’t know. Plus events like this, well he did not like to be distracted by having to keep up with a glass. However, if Ric trusted this human, he would give the female the benefit of the doubt. After having memorized the female at the bar, he returned his gaze to Lennox, winked at her, took her hand, and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He would make time in the near future to explain to her about those with whom he trusted and why.

His attention was then returned back to Beverly, “Ah.. you’re Ric’s?” He nodded as if key information was being slotted into the correct positions. The curious in him, made him wonder exactly how that turning came about. He wasn’t going to ask her. Especially knowing that there is a human in the room, however, this knowledge about Beverly being Ric’s, made him feel better about Lucretia liking her.

[Skylar]

"Oh god girl if you want weapons you just have to ask. The family’s kinda drowning in them if you ask me. Charlie…"
I glance around the room as if half expecting to see her, even if she hadn’t RSVPed.
“Well she’s not here but she’s super nice and our resident gunsmith. Pi makes guns too. And you just so happen to be talking to the family’s swordsmith; thought technically I make blunt and sharps. Never knew I had a talent for that till I took to this life. I kinda wanted to find a thing. You know. Some way of paying Elliot back for saving my life. So… yeah… I make stuff for others to use. Actually… I’m giving away a dagger later. Or we are rather. We’ve got a short quiz prepared to see how well people know Ric and I. So you can take a look at the dagger before we hand it over if you like? And I have a list online with photos and stuff that shows what’s available for the family. As does Charlie.”
I’d show the girl but the party doesn’t seem the right time or place to be picking out hardware.
