Dear Willy,

Yesterday sucked. I was out playing with Peanut and dragging her around for a walk - normally, she's pretty good at the whole not running away thing. And she was being all cute, so I let her off the leash to play fetch. We weren't even all that close to the road, but I guess she caught a whiff of something - probably a deer - and took off after it. She's done this before. I always bring her back after letting her have a run.

I'm fast, I'm sharp... but I didn't realize she'd go as far as she did. I was just going to track her down and bring her back... But she kept going until she hit the highway. Then something massive hit her - probably a semi. By the time I got there - it couldn't have been more than a minute after it happened - the truck was done. There were bits of Peanut everywhere, just kind of... splattered and run over.

I took most of her back to the Citadel and managed to dig a deep enough hole to bury her. But I still feel like a horrible owner...
