Serene To An Extreme [Lorelai]

Post by Levi DAmico »

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
This RP takes place on Thursday 19th February 2015.
Levi:
After their... interesting… shopping trip, the desire to chill out and de-stress sat high on Levi's list of priorities. They’d journeyed to the Spa in something of an awkward silence, but at least the journey was short given that he’d hired a chauffeur for the night. He hadn’t known where to look when she’d modelled various styles of swimsuit and when it came to the bikini option, Levi just wanted to get the hell out of there. Maybe because she’d read his expressions and discomfort, or maybe because he’d become a little blunt, Lorelai had settled on one of the more conservative swimsuits; either way, Levi was just happy that he could look at her again and not feel too weird about it. When the car came to a stop, Levi got out first and did the courteous thing and let her out.
"We’re here,” he said quietly, his eyes on her shoes before they finally met her blue eyes with a chastened smile.

Lorelai:
Lorelai had enjoyed the shopping trip with Levi. He was a lot less opinionated than his sire, or at least that was Lorelai’s opinion. She couldn’t imagine CC letting her actually choose her own outfit. The swimsuit she’d chosen was rather reminiscent of something from the fifties, but regardless of the style, it suited her.
“Thank you,” she said as she exited the vehicle. “It looks… quiet.”
Lorelai had tried to ignore the rather uncomfortable silence between them, hoping that he was perhaps tired, wasn’t that the reason they were here after all? He needed a night off from work. The fact that it was a date wasn’t something Lorelai had yet allowed herself to believe.
“Are they open?”
Lorelai knew Levi had wanted privacy but she didn’t realise he’d go to such lengths as to book out the entire spa just for them.

Levi:
“Sort of,” he said, starting up the path toward the entrance, expecting her to follow. He didn’t really know how to answer her because his explanation could sound either chauvinistic or just plain creepy. Oh, you know, I just went ahead and booked this entire spa so it could be just the two of us… Yeah… Creepy.
Levi’s attention moved to the Spa itself to criticise the exterior. He’d been researching spas in Harper Rock for about two hours just to find one he liked the look of, one that would have the right facilities and weren’t completely up themselves. Still, they had to appreciate money because otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to buy them out. This Spa, called Laguna, had a very modern feel to it, an almost Californian feel to it too. The building was pretty expansive to accommodate the various activities and treatments they provided. The white walls were dentist-clean, the immaculate grounds were probably a little too immaculate, and the blue lighting which highlighted the water features was probably too much. Still, Levi didn’t hate it. It looked expensive and that was important to him.
By the time they reached the large glass doors, a shallow light revealed that there was a handful of ready and waiting staff inside. Levi stopped for a moment to consider Lorelai, concern showing easily on his face. “You still sure you wanna do this?” They were only going to a Spa, but he’d questioned her like they were about to enter a war zone.

Lorelai:
She didn’t understand how they could sort of be open and she wasn’t sure she should ask. When she first came to the city she’d made her money by sneaking into places and taking what she thought they could spare and yet she couldn’t imagine Levi doing this with her; not that she’d of minded too much, as it might have been the only way they could swim in a heated pool alone.
“Oh yes. Yes I am. Unless you don’t want to. Would you rather do something else?”
Whereas his voice had sounded like he was about to lead her into danger, hers sounded as if she were giving him a way out of a promise he might have made under duress. She wanted to spend time with Levi and so it didn’t matter to her where they went or what they did so long as he wanted to be there.

Levi:
Levi sighed at her response; she really was just too sweet to make a decision for anyone. “Well, we might as well go in,” he said, looking back to the door again as one of the staff members approached to open it for them. “If you’re still up for it, let’s go.”

Lorelai:
She smiled and moved through the door as it was opened for them. The couple of the staff looked the pair over and then quickly scampered off; they were obviously curious about the people that had booked the entire complex out for the night. While that wasn’t entirely unprecedented, it was unusual for it to be a couple rather than a group that wanted that kind of privacy.
Lorelai looked about the place, it had a hospital feel to it and yet it didn’t. It was clean and sterile but there was a positive warmth about the place. The atmosphere was quite lovely, at least she thought so. She wasn’t entirely sure what to expect from the evening, only that they would at some point be swimming and so she stayed as close to Levi’s side as she could.

Levi:
It didn’t occur to Levi that the staff were judging them the minute they’d walked in. Actually, it was probably more about the fact that he didn’t care. His attention was on Lorelai and as she moved to stay glued to his side, he wrapped an arm around her back to let her know he was comfortable with it. Maybe he’d become a little over-protective lately and even though he’d received assurances from the big man himself that the kind of **** they’d had to deal with wouldn’t be tolerated, Levi was still processing the whole thing. He was on edge, his life was in turmoil and he hadn’t slept – resisting even the pull of torpor which generally met him when dawn came. He needed to relax, sure, but he wasn’t very good at letting go and chilling out.
As two staff members – one male, one female – came to each of them with fluffy white dressing gowns and slippers, Levi had to resist the instinct to attack them. Being in his own head, they’d caught him a little by surprise. “Good evening and welcome to Laguna Spa,” the female staff said to them both, but her focus was mostly on Lorelai. “If you both would like to follow us to get changed, we can give you a tour of the facilities.”

Lorelai:
Lorelai smiled brightly at the woman as she welcomed them. Despite recent events, Lorelai still believed in the innate goodness of people. She looked first to Levi, smiled up at him and then followed the woman as instructed.
“Have you been here before?” she asked Levi as they were lead towards the changing rooms.
The staff were unsure if the couple were in fact a couple and assumptions were not something they were comfortable making and so they had planned to show the pair to two separate rooms. They had public men’s and women’s dressing rooms and a couple of private rooms, with the money Levi had thrown at them, they were being offered the private rooms.

Levi:
He’d been watching Lorelai to gage her reaction, which seemed positive for the most part even as they were led down a warmly lit corridor to the changing rooms. Levi shook his head at Lorelai’s question; his nonchalance suggested that just because he hadn’t been here before didn’t mean it was a bad thing. He wasn’t sure he believed the signals he was sending out and even though he didn’t like the idea of them being separated, he decided to suck it up. “See ya soon,” he said casually to Lorelai with a gentle smile, deciding to abide by the instructions given by the female attendant.
He was ushered into a private room by the gentleman; Lorelai was ushered into her own room by the woman. The separation might have unsettled him, but Levi figured Lorelai wouldn’t be shy about stripping down right in front of him and he could do without the stress that would cause. The male attendant handed Levi the dressing gown and slippers and then left the room without a word; a good thing as far as Levi was concerned. He wasn’t shy and didn’t give two fucks about getting naked in front of anyone ordinarily, but he was feeling remarkably tense so being left alone to decompress was a welcome relief.
When he was ready, Levi got undressed, put on his robe and stupidly uncomfortable slippers and left the room to wait for Lorelai. At this point, the staff were in the hallway gossiping, but the minute they’d heard his door, they silenced. The woman looked to him and smiled, Levi glanced to her name badge to finally stop regarding her as the overly-friendly brown-haired woman and now looked to her as Susan. “We are just waiting on your companion,” Susan said, flashing her whitened teeth. Levi shrugged his shoulders and waited.

Lorelai:
Lorelai stepped inside the private changing room and instead of immediately setting about the task of changing, she began to look at the artwork on the walls and allowed her fingertips to run across the plush furniture. The small room was like a mini-sitting room and there was the strong aroma of recently burnt incense lingering in the air; she loved it. After taking a few minutes to appreciate her surroundings she eventually set about the task of changing. With her robe tied about her waist, she slipped her feet into the odd, one-size fits all slipper and shuffled out into the hallway.
Her blue eyes connected with those of Levi’s and she smiled brightly. She didn’t mind being naked beneath the robe, in fact it felt perfectly normal. This robe was a lot less granny-like than the one she’d been seen in the night of the storm and then she’d been trapped with strangers. Here at least, she had Levi. She quickly closed the distance between them and ran her hand down his arm.
“I’m sorry. Did I keep you waiting long?”

Levi:
Susan seemed more alarmed by Lorelai’s actions than Levi was, but only just. Nevertheless, it seemed like everyone was perfectly professional enough to not make such a big deal about things. Even if he did feel stupid in this gown and even if Lorelai made him feel old, he was determined to relax. In turn, Levi patted the hand on his arm and gestured toward Susan who was looking to them both expectantly, encouraging Lorelai to turn around. “Well,” Susan began, putting on her trademark happy voice. “Should we begin the tour? You, of course, have the freedom to try out any treatment and to explore every facility we have at the Laguna Spa. So let me show you around so that you can decide what you feel like doing tonight.”

Lorelai:
Lorelai nodded, and looped her arm through Levi’s. The slippers were a little awkward to move in but she soon found that if she curled her toes a little, that they stayed on better.
“I’ve never been to a spa before,” she whispered to her companion. “So far I like it. The atmosphere here is so tranquil. It’s perfect. Don’t you think?”
The blonde was obviously easily impressed as they hadn’t been in the establishment for even a quarter of an hour and had yet to even see what was available to them and yet she was enjoying herself. It was difficult for her to explain her love of a good atmosphere, as so many people seemed unaware of such things.

Levi:
For once, Levi didn’t mind Lorelai clinging to him. In some weird way, he felt like he needed her to be. His pride was such that he wouldn’t cling to her no matter how much he might have wanted her to be close. He was only just getting used to being the one to come to her, embrace her, place a kiss on her cheek or forehead, and even so, he berated himself afterward for what he believed was being stupid. As it happened, he had to remind himself that there was a reason they were here. This wasn’t a date. It wasn’t. They both just deserved some time to relax and he was responsible for all of that. So this wasn’t a date, this was his apology.
Levi smiled lightly as Lorelai talked, growing more excited as they walked. He enjoyed seeing her so happy, so easily impressed, discovering new things with such a passion, not in a child-like way, but with a mature appreciation. Levi hadn’t given their surroundings much thought because he preferred watching her reaction to it. Of course, having a superb sense of smell, he couldn’t exactly avoid everything. The scent of chlorine under orange blossom and honey oil gave him the indication that they were approaching the wet rooms with the adjoining swimming pool, Jacuzzi and steam room before Susan had said anything.
“When using these areas,” Susan added. “You’re welcome to wear your bathing suits or be as nature intended.” Levi glared at the woman, wishing he’d had the foresight to pop the cow in the face before she’d rattled off that sentence. He didn’t need anyone telling Lorelai that she could strip off in front him. “Would you like to try these facilities now or shall we move on?” Susan asked. Levi jumped on the opportunity. “Move on.” Susan, being a bit shocked, blinked at him a few times, but since he was the one paying, she couldn’t just ignore him. Still, her green eyes passed to Lorelai as if she needed both of their opinions before moving on.

Lorelai:
Lorelai listened to the sound of her own feet and soon became a little self-conscious of the shuffling. She looked to Levi and the chirpy brunette but neither of them seemed to be looking at her with any signs of disapproval so she tried to ignore her feet herself.
“Oh we can come back,” she said with a small nod of the head. “I would prefer to swim last as it I’m not entirely sure what the other treatments are and it may lessen my enjoyment of them if I’m all wet.”

Levi:
“Urm, certainly,” Susan said, feigning a smile. She was likely struggling with the awkwardness of her two customers seeing as Levi had stared at Lorelai in that instance like she’d just sprouted a second head. Sure, it was a perfectly logical sentence, but with the way Lorelai had phrased it, it just seemed odd. “Follow me,” Susan said happily once again, leading them on to the next facility where the incense was stronger and accompanied by dreamy music.

Lorelai:
As they continued on and the music became more audible, even to those with human hearing, Lorelai ‘s enthusiasm for the evening’s activities grew.
“Oh I like this part of the building better already.”
Lorelai tugged on Levi’s arm a little as she spoke, her excitement clear in her voice. The incense filled her nostril and lifted her broken soul. She wasn’t sure what the exact scent was but she knew she liked it and she knew she should get some for her apartment.

Levi:
She was too adorable in that moment and he couldn’t take the smile off his face as he walked and she pranced. Susan seemed happy with Lorelai’s excitement too and she nodded, looking back at them with a wide smile. “This area leads on to body treatments and massages,” she said. “Do you think you would be interested in those treatments?” Levi decided to let Lorelai answer.
Laguna Spa seemed to prefer floral scents as Levi quickly identified the scent of Jasmine wafting in the air. It was gentle, to a Human, but fairly pungent to him. He’d always had a bit of a nose, but at least these scents were artificial. As a Human, he’d had hay fever, whether that translated into his Vampiro self was yet to be realised, however.

Lorelai:
The question set her slightly off balance, as she wasn’t used to being the one to make decisions, not when there was someone else there to do it for her. She looked to Levi but he didn’t say a word and so it fell to her to reply to Susan.
“We could start with a massage… Since I know what that is. Ana was…”
Her words trailed off as her conscience kicked in.
Shut up. Now! For the love of god do not finish that sentence.
Why? She…
No. Not appropriate. Please. Just trust me on this one.

Levi:
Levi glared at Lorelai. He didn’t exactly mean to, but just hearing about her and CC made him feel weird, angry. He still pretty much hated the woman after all and well, it was strange to think that CC and Lorelai could be a couple. He had this picture of CC just being a complete ***** as per usual, bullying Lorelai into her way of thinking, demanding **** from her and making it out like this was something Lorelai should just do. From what Lorelai had told him of their relationship, it didn’t go anyway to piercing his perception because she pretty much admitted that CC manipulated her. Hearing Lorelai praise the ***** just made his blood boil.
“Excellent choice!” Susan said, oblivious to sudden awkwardness, or perhaps just happy to be rid of this strange couple. She hurried them to the treatment rooms where each door was either labelled ‘private’ or ‘couples’. Smiling again, Susan asked, “And would you prefer to be separate or together?” Levi didn’t really want to answer that question either.

Lorelai:
Lorelai looked at Levi. She wasn’t sure what she’d said wrong and her conscience wasn’t explaining, so she offered him one of her more apologetic smiles just to be on the safe side. Massages were something she was familiar with though, and she was more than happy to be here with Levi, even if he did suddenly seem uninterested.
“Together?” she look at Susan as she replied, her voice hesitant before she cast her eyes in Levi’s direction. Nodding, she repeated herself with a little more certainty. “Together.”
While the goal of the evening might be to relax, she was pretty sure they were supposed to be spending time together while they did it, so splitting up seemed a little counterproductive.

Levi:
He tried to lift his mood, but apparently he wasn’t strong enough and that elephant of doubt continued to sit firmly on his chest. It seemed to get heavier too when Lorelai looked at him and smiled remorsefully. She didn’t have anything to apologise for, she was just caught up in a lot of ********. When she suggested that they would take the massage together, Levi smiled weakly back at her and looked to Susan who was trying out a new kind of smile herself.
Susan looked awkward in that moment and desperately began to claw back her trademark confidence to nod and step toward the couples’ room. “Alright, both, if you’d like to follow me.” She knocked on the door then and they waited for the door to open. When it did, it revealed a pair of orange women dressed in starched white uniforms. Each woman’s hair was pulled back into a high pony tail, highlighting their make-up which was as suspicious as their skin colour.
Levi looked to them with a quirked brow, not sure what to think exactly, but felt himself recoil slightly nevertheless. It wasn’t that they were hideously unattractive or particularly trashy – their skin, while leaning toward orange, could have been considered bronze; it wasn’t like they were oompa loompas anyway. They also seemed to have natural hair colour from what he could tell without making things weird. He decided just to suck it up and deal with it as Susan introduced the two orange girls as Katheryn and Mary-Beth.

Lorelai:
Lorelai smiled at the two women and stepped into the room. This would be the first time a perfect stranger was feeling her up… if she didn’t count her trips to the hospital, and yet she wondered if she’d be able to relax with someone she didn’t know “caressing” her skin. Being the trusting sort, it probably wouldn’t be too bad but still, she began to feel a little self-conscious. The Spa did have one thin that the hospital lacked though, the calming atmosphere.
Lorelai reached out to lightly stroke Levi’s arm, the look she gave him being the sort that asked; ‘what now?’ Despite his mood, she stepped a little closer to him and waited for one of the other women in the room to tell them what to do. When they did in fact begin to explain Lorelai looked to Levi. The women were going to step outside so that she and Levi could disrobe and cover themselves with a towel. Now for a woman that appeared in a public bar at sundown in nothing but her underwear up until recently she shouldn’t have been ashamed and yet she was hesitant to let Levi see her naked, since he’d be remaining in the room. Her physical form wasn’t something that concerned her though; she was more worried about Levi’s reaction to it, seeing as how he had no interest in her.
Once all the women left, Lorelai finally spoke up.
“I… Erm… Do you need some privacy?”

Levi:
Levi couldn’t help but laugh at Lorelai’s question. While she wasn’t entirely reserved or your typical shrinking violet, Levi still had that impression of her in his head. He was, in fact, very stubborn with his opinion that Lorelai was some naïve little farm girl who was as innocent as the Virgin Mary. This judgement was both a blessing and a curse, for on the one hand, Levi regarded her like she was precious, sacred and beautiful – not fit to be tainted by anyone or anything for as long as he could keep it so. Yet, on the other hand, it meant that he was stuck with this lust-less and chaste reaction to her and it was obviously something of a problem for Lorelai.
It seemed like he was damned either way because he finally cared about someone enough to put their needs first and yet, couldn’t give her what she wanted.
Fortunately, those thoughts weren’t immediately present in his head because he was amused and smirking to himself. “Nah,” he said. “I’m good. Just so long as you promise to keep your hands to yourself. I’m pretty sure they don’t wanna walk in on that.”

Lorelai:
Her question seemed to lighten the mood, as Levi suddenly seemed a little more like himself. Most people would have felt uncomfortable in this situation and yet both of them seemed to be taking it in their stride. What little nervousness Lorelai had passed with his teasing.
Should I promise that?
Do you want to?
No…
Well then don’t promise.

“I didn’t even know that was an option,” she told him as a slight flush of colour passed rose in her cheeks. “But if it is… we could lock the door.”
She didn’t even know there was a lock, but she assumed as much. Her eyes swept across the room to the door so that she could confirm that for herself and then she looked back to Levi. It wasn’t too difficult to imagine him shedding his robe and how things might develop from there and yet she hesitated as to whether or not she should try and bring that about. Her conscience of course spurred her on.
Lorelai moved to stand in front of Levi, placing her hands on the fluffy white robe that covered his chest and looked up into his eyes, before pushing herself up onto her tiptoes so that she could lightly kiss his lips.
“Should I lock the door?”

Levi:
At first, Levi was left staring at her with a quirked brow. The blush in her cheeks made her look like she was glowing with some strange, wholesome energy and he was transfixed by it for a while. Lorelai was just so… colourful. From her delicate coral skin to her gold-spun hair and oceanic eyes; Lorelai encapsulated the feeling of Spring in an ever-present Winter. So when she approached him, placing her hands on his chest and reaching up for a kiss, he didn’t deny her. Their contact was brief and single-sided, as ever, but something was different.
Levi’s eyes roamed over her features, working their way from her blue eyes and to her soft pink lips as she began to speak. He angled his head, bending slightly, to draw his lips across her bottom jaw, inadvertently taking in the scent of her, but not doing anything more than tasting at this point. He was testing their boundaries, as it were, unsure exactly what he was thinking or if he was even thinking at all. He wasn’t entirely aware of when he’d decided to take hold of her hips, but he was holding them in something of a firm grip.
As he moved to talk into her ear, he’d somehow managed to collect himself, leaving him with the decision to watch her reaction carefully. “I think… that’s… a very bad idea,” he said finally, because he very almost didn’t. As if to add insult to injury, Levi placed a soft kiss along her cheek and stepped back some, building some distance between them. He’d never felt the urge to breathe so strongly in death before.

Lorelai:
Her question had been asked in a typical hushed and girly tone that betrayed her hope. She liked Levi, a lot, and for whatever reason she wasn’t ready to give up on him, even if he was quite adamant that there was nothing there on his side. It wasn’t so much that she was predatory, as she was perpetually hopeful.
When he rejected the idea of locking the door, her forehead crinkled slightly with confusion. She was sure he liked hers as his lips had brushed her jawline before he answered, and he held her hips as if he wanted more from her. So the answer itself left her wondering what it was exactly that he wanted from her, if anything at all, because his words and his actions didn’t seem to match up. Having him then kiss her cheek again, only muddied the water further.
Levi pulled away from her and she sighed unsure as to what she should do next. At least for now she didn’t have to do much of anything as the massage would likely distract them both. With that in mind, she shrugged out of her robe and moved to place it on the back of the door. She then walked back to the table, lay herself face down upon it and pulled the towel over her buttocks before getting comfortable.

Levi:
When Lorelai didn’t say anything, Levi felt relieved. He’d been expecting her to question his decision, to maybe call him out on his actions since he’d managed to lose his cool, but she didn’t. That feeling of relief persisted right up until Lorelai decided that clothes weren’t necessary anymore, however. As if she was punishing him for being such a spoilsport, she disrobed right in front of him and then sauntered off. It was possible that she hadn’t precisely sauntered, but for all his resolve, his mind certainly painted the picture for him. Time slowed to a satisfying pace and he watched her with, perhaps, too much interest. Umber eyes strolled across her naked form, from her toes right up to her crown – it would have been a bit perverse to stare just at the assets after all.
Levi hadn’t really given things a lot of thought when it came to Lorelai and sex, but now that she was prancing before him – her glossy skin completely on display – his mind all but dive-bombed into a pool of salacious thoughts. There wasn’t an ounce of caution in Lorelai’s steps, not a whisper of fear; she moved as if coded to the urge and her sudden confidence was very attractive. He liked how free she was, how unreserved and how… un-Lorelai she appeared in those moments, which sounded a lot worse than it really was. It wasn’t that Lorelai was unsexual exactly, but just that she didn’t exude that animal magnetism right off the bat. If anything, Levi had been so accustomed to her chaste, naïve ways that it was difficult to imagine her as a sexual being.

Levi:
Levi promptly sighed and decided that he needed to sort himself out. Even if he did suddenly see Lorelai in a new light, it didn’t necessarily mean he had to act upon it. He had to remember how things were and how nothing was going to change that short of permanent death. If truth be told, Levi was never going to be willing to give up on his Mafioso lifestyle. It didn’t matter if he was Vampiri, short of being dead-dead, he was never going to give up being what he was. Once Cosa Nostra was in your blood, you became a part of it and you could never leave. Therefore, he had to do everything within his power to stay. Keeping Lorelai at arm’s length was just one of many sacrifices Levi had to make.
She wouldn’t be able to understand what it meant to be a part of Cosa Nostra and he certainly wouldn’t have been able to accept losing her to it.
With Lorelai distracted by getting herself comfortable and dignified, Levi decided it would probably be best to follow her lead. Within seconds of getting himself naked and somewhat comfortable on the table-bed-thing, there was a knock at the door followed by the emergence of Kathryn and Mary-Beth. The two were quick to approach their designated patients, take requests for various types of massage techniques and oils to use and then get started. The room seemed to darken as the session went on and although Levi found it difficult to relax at first, within 20 minutes, he was practically dozing…

Lorelai:
The massage was quite relaxing but Lorelai couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with her while the woman worked the kinks out of her muscles. When their time came to an end, she pulled herself up onto her elbows and waited for the women to leave so that she could get up from the table and retrieve her robe.
“Did you enjoy the massage Levi? Do you feel any more relaxed?” she asked as she pulled the white, fluffy robe from its hook and slipped her arms inside of it.
In contrast to the way she was acting before the massage, she now could not, or rather, would not look at Levi as she spoke. She kept her back to him even after she tied the cord around her waist.

Levi:
Relaxed, but not peaceful – that was the best way to describe Levi’s mood in that moment. The massage had done its magic to coax him into a state of contentment, making him feel like a cat that had been appropriately pampered, but he did have to get up and get back to life now. It was thoughts such as those that made it difficult for him to relax overall; happiness was always so damn temporary. The same might have been said for Lorelai too as he’d noticed her sudden aloofness.
Far from being free and comfortable, she almost seemed to be giving him the cold shoulder. Levi was sat up on the bed, the towels and blankets draped over the lower half of his body. Umber eyes were fixed on Lorelai, his trademark frown showing. “Sure,” he said in response to her question, though quickly swept it aside. “Everything alright with you?”

Lorelai:
“Mhm,” Lorelai nodded. “My body feels much more relaxed. Thank you.”
She wandered around the room, her back almost always in his direction as she did so. It wasn’t like she no longer liked, or wanted Levi, she just wasn’t sure what she should do or say now. She’d been so sure that Levi liked her, even though he was aloof at times. He confused her on an almost daily basis but perhaps that was part of the appeal.
“What should we do next? Did you want to swim?”

Levi:
“Sure,” he said, confusion and uncertainty leaking into his tone. He still wasn’t sure that everything was fine and dandy though. Frowning still, Levi decided to take a shot. “So, you wanna look at me or what?”

Lorelai:
Lorelai combs her fingers through her hair, pulling it forward on both sides before she turns to look at Levi.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be rude. I just wasn’t sure…” she shook her head softly. “Don’t worry.”

Levi:
Telling someone not to worry about something immediately makes them worry about it. This was why Levi’s mood hadn’t improved and why he was still staring at her with doubt and a little bit of frustration. “Come here a minute,” he said flatly, umber eyes pressing into blue.

Lorelai:
She wasn’t expecting him to ask her to come to him and she looked at him, confusion clear in her eyes as she crossed the room to stand before him. Unsure as to what to do with her hands, she slid them into the pockets of her robe and looked up at him.
“Did I do something wrong? I didn’t mean to be rude, I promise. I just didn’t know… I don’t know what to say or do. I am enjoying myself here. I am It’s lovely here. Peaceful. Tranquil. I miss that. The city is so loud.”
She was being as open and honest with him as she could be without asking him directly what it was that was wrong with her and why he didn’t want her? She knew she had to be the problem, she just couldn’t figure out exactly how she was the problem or what it was that she was doing wrong.

Levi:
While Lorelai had approached as requested, she was suddenly acting like he was some jealous, crazy husband who was about to beat her. Levi didn’t like that fear toward him – a first in his life – but this was the one person he didn’t want to fear him. He reached for her hand, which was hiding in her robe’s pocket, so began to stroke the fur-like exterior. Although he was trying really hard to be nice, he didn’t wholly appreciate how he was toying with her. Levi traded nice, soft moments for ones of aloofness on a regular basis so poor Lorelai was always in a state of limbo.
It was no wonder she was confused about him, but Levi didn’t know what to do about that. He saw the pain he inflicted and he hoped he could fix it by doing something nice, but it turned out to make things worse when he was quick to withdraw yet again.
“I’m glad you’re enjoying it,” he said softly, his low and deep voice had a purring quality to it. “Because I really wanted you to. Especially after the whole ordeal the other day. I just wanna make up for that.”

Lorelai:
“It wasn’t your fault Levi. Please don’t take that upon yourself.”
She pulled the hand he was trying to connect with from her pocket and slipped her fingers around his. She pushed her own feelings of uncertainty aside as she realised that he was perhaps in need of comforting. He couldn’t take the blame for what had happened to her, she wouldn’t let him. He hadn’t played any part in her kidnapping and he had to realise that.
“You couldn’t of known what they were planning.”

Levi:
Levi growled to himself, eyes disappearing into a small corner of the room to pocket his angry stare. He felt like he should have known, like he should have been able to anticipate who his enemies were. Sure, he’d suspected that Gino was watching him, but he didn’t expect Gino to hire idiots who break basic codes of respect. Gino had apologised, they’d come to an agreement about things, but that didn’t make it alright. It took Levi a moment to come around and relax again, then he was finally able to look Lorelai in the eye.
Idly, Levi began to swing his hand so that Lorelai’s hand would swing with him. It was weirdly affectionate for him, but he tried not to give it too much thought. “So, swimming? That’s up next, huh. You sure?”

Lorelai:
Lorelai smiled up at him, her temperament returning to normal as she looked at him with as much affection now as she had immediately before they had settled down for their massages.
“You said you’d like to go swimming in a heated pool. Isn’t that half the reason we are here? I would love to swim. But we need to change first. Unless… unless we’re permitted to swim as we are.”
She couldn’t remember what Susan had said about swimming or even if she’d said anything at all. In fact there were times when Lorelai could quite forget her own name, due to being so distracted by information, spirits or the people to whom she found herself attracted.

Levi:
“I figure you’re supposed to wear something,” he said. “Even if it’s just the two of us.” Still holding her hand, he gave her a nudge and a quick smile. “We’ll wander back to the changing rooms I guess. Cool?”

Lorelai:
“I’m sure she said…” Lorelai blushed. “Never mind.”
But she did mind a little and had decided to ask Susan or anyone else they came across if she could get them alone. Of course they had gone to the trouble of buying her a swimsuit, so it seemed a bit of a waste not to wear it; at least for a little while. As much as Levi probably wished she’d leave him alone, Lorelai had no intention of giving up in the male that seemed to blow hot and cold as and when he felt like it.

Levi:
Levi frowned at the abruptness of Lorelai’s words and since he hated being told ‘never mind’, he was quick to question her on it. “Sure she said what?” he parroted her words back at her. He wasn’t sure who Lorelai was even quoting at that point.

Lorelai:
Lorelai’s cheeks darkened.
“I’m sure she said that we could swim as nature intended. Or words to that effect. But then we did buy me a new swimsuit. So perhaps I should wear that.”
If you’re hoping he’s going to disagree with that, I think you’re about to be disappointed.
It doesn’t matter.
Oh no? Then why do you keep looking at him like you haven’t eaten in a week and he’s a three course meal.
Shh. You’ll embarrass me.
I think you’re doing that all by yourself. You don’t need my help. You know you’re throwing yourself at him. Right?
Yes. I know.
So long as you’re aware of that.

Levi:
“Oh,” he said immediately. He frowned to give it some serious thought as she went on about the swimsuit they’d gone and bought for her. There would always be other times for her to wear it and it wasn’t like it bothered him if she just threw his… gift?... in the trash. “Well… Whatever. It doesn’t really bother me.” It did bother him on some level. There was a voice inside his head screaming at him that this was a bad idea, only that voice must have been screaming in a different room of his brain, somewhere beyond the scent of orange blossom…

Lorelai:
Oh my stars. He’s about as easy to read as a Chinese text book. Try and have some decorum will you.
The blonde looked up at him through her lashes, her hand gently squeezing his.
“We should wear our bathing suits. At least at first. I don’t wish for everyone to see me naked.”
The words were rather telling, as they hinted at the fact that she wanted him alone to be the one that saw her naked. There was nothing she could do to take the words back however once they left her lips, and so she would just have to wait to see if he would comment.
Loreai pulled away from Levi to retrieve his robe, because they could not head back to their respective dressing rooms until both of them were suitably attired.

Levi:
Levi smirked to himself as the blonde slipped out of his touch to move to the door and fetch his robe. She still reminded him a little puppy, and while he really didn’t like dogs, Levi found it difficult not to have a sweet spot for Lorelai. It was dangerous to feel anything, he knew that, but it was far too late for that kind of thinking. He was already in too deep.
Levi nodded in gratitude as she handed him the robe, and he didn’t care much for his nakedness as he stepped off the bed – out from the sheets – to dress himself.

Lorelai:
As she handed him his robe, she knew the polite thing to do would be to turn and avert her gaze as he dressed, but she didn’t as she’d already seen him in all his glory. Though she was now infinitely closer and able to touch him if she only dared to reach out her hand.
“Should we go to our dressing rooms now?” she asked as if another option were now available to them.

Levi:
The Italian gave her a nod as he fastened the robe around himself. His expressions were level, thinking nothing of his actions or what they might have meant to anyone besides himself, but then, he was trying not to think too much. There was always a feeling of anxiety there when he did that – tried to relax and shut off his mind – but Levi was doing his best to ignore it and focus on the present. He gave Lorelai a glance and then headed for the door where, low and behold, their concierge was awaiting them.
“I hope we are feeling more relaxed now,” Susan said beaming at each one of them, her hands clasped behind her back. She paused to collect smiles, though Levi didn’t give her one, and then she continued. “And where would you like to go now?”

Lorelai:
He didn’t answer but he move away, at which point Lorelai followed. As he opened the door, she smiled politely at the waiting woman and nodded softly. Though she wasn’t as relaxed as perhaps she could be, as she usually would be, not with Levi so close; his presence quite often left her feeling frustrated and today was no exception.
“Oh I am quite relaxed thank you,” she lied; a little white lie to ease the woman’s mind. “I think we’re determined to swim next. So we need to return to our dressing rooms and change.”
She glanced at Levi to see if he was happy with what she’d said. He was taking a somewhat passive role in the night’s proceedings and she wasn’t sure if that was because he was trying to relax or if it was a sign that he was as disinterested in the evening as he was in her.

Levi:
Susan was more than happy to take them back down the corridor to where they had basically begun their evening. Levi was quiet as ever – trying not to think, but obviously consumed with conflicting ideas. Susan stopped them outside the changing rooms to brief them on the rules of the swimming pool: no running, diving, etc. Levi glared at the woman until she finally stopped talking. She gave them a bow and departed, leaving the couple on their own in the corridor. Levi looked across to Lorelai and smiled briefly. “Should I meet you in there or back here when you’re done changing?”

Lorelai:
“Whichever you prefer Levi. I am sure you will be changed far sooner than I will be, so if you are waiting for me I will know you have waited, and if you are not here, I shall meet know you went ahead.”
She nodded and disappeared into her room without so much as a moment’s pause. While it might have seemed as if she were a little moody, for whatever reason, she was not; she was trying to give him the space she thought he wanted and removing herself from his sight as quickly as possible was the remedy.
She took her time in changing, allowing herself to once more lose herself to the calming, and serene nature of the room. Having finished dressing, she once more donned her robe, fastened it around her waist and stepped out into the hall.

Levi:
Before he knew what was going on, Lorelai had disappeared into the changing room. Levi stood there a moment longer, not knowing what to do about this sudden weird attitude before he went to get changed himself. When he came out, he could hear Lorelai was still in the changing room. He sighed heavily and figured he would meet her in the pool itself. He didn’t need directions, he knew where he was going, and it was nice to have a moment to have a heated pool to himself, even if it was to be a few seconds…

Lorelai:
The hallway was empty but Lorelai didn’t mind, she had told Levi that he was free to go ahead and so she had no right to be mad that he done just that. She walked to the swimming pool and shed her robe when she close enough. She wasn’t the sort to simply jump or dive in. In fact she wasn’t exactly sure what the etiquette was for entering a public pool such as this, so she just sat herself down on the edge and dangled her feet in the water.

Levi:
It was nice to have some time to himself, but it was better to spend that time swimming in a warm pool. Not that there was anything wrong with the sea – he actually rather missed the sea. It was one of the easiest ways to keep fit and he liked being alone, at dawn, with the freezing waters off Carson Beach. Maybe, if he found a substitute beach or something, he’d pick it up again, but swimming in the warm, private waters of this spa wasn’t so bad. Levi maybe got to do a length in the pool before he noticed Lorelai come in. He made his way back to her, pulling his one arm up over the side to partially lift him out of the water. “Everything ok?” he asked.

Lorelai:
“Oh yes. Everything is wonderful. I was just… Well... I was wondering how best to get into the pool?”
She cast her eyes over the water and then looked to the edges as if to see if she were being watched.
“Am I supposed to use the little ladders at the side? Or slide myself in from here? Or am I supposed to jump? The lake at Hoshkosh sloped down from the bank, which meant I walked into it and well… I can’t do that here.”

Levi:
Levi laughed softly to himself, shaking his head ever so slightly. She really was precious wasn’t she, worrying over the stupidest things. “Just slide on in,” he said, offering a hand to her. “Come on, I’ll even guide you in if you want.”

Lorelai:
Lorelai reached out and took a hold of Levi’s hand, before turning her body ever so slightly to one side so that she could hold onto the edge of the pool with her other hand and ease herself in. It didn’t quite go to plan however and if Levi was unable to steady her, she was likely to end up going fully under the water once she was in.

Levi:
Helping Lorelai into the water would take some tact, he had decided. She seemed nervous for whatever reason, like she was afraid of drowning, so Levi made sure that he wasn’t going to give her anymore reasons to be nervous. He slipped back onto his feet – chest out of the water – and held onto Lorelai’s hand with a strong grip. As she turned to slip in backwards, Levi stepped around slightly and put a hand instinctively on the hip facing away from him to keep her balanced and secure. He basically had her in a bear hug by the time they were both in the water.

Lorelai:
Lorelai needn’t of worried, as Levi kept control of her and kept her head above water. It almost felt as if he were hugging her, and so she found herself all too readily leaning against him.
No. Bad Lorelai. Leave the poor guy alone.
I haven’t…
You were about…

The internal monologue ended all too quickly as Lorelai quickly wrapped her arms around Levi’s neck. It wasn’t that she was afraid of water, she just enjoyed being in such close proximity to him and him helping her into the water had allowed her the perfect opportunity to get closer to him; for as long as he would allow that, that was.
“Thank you. I wasn’t sure on the correct way to get in. I liked this way.”

Levi:
Levi quirked a brow to her words, a wry grin slipping past his defences. “Yeah, I bet you did,” he basically purred at her. Since she had her arms around his neck, Levi saw no reason why he couldn’t grab hold of her hips.

Lorelai:
“The water is nice too. It’s like being in a large bath.” Aware of how stupid she sounded she buried her face in his neck. She was too close to hide the blush in her cheeks any other way.
Of course Lorelai’s conscience was objecting to everything that she was doing, so much so that she even found herself shaking her head ever so slightly. It wanted her to stop being such a “whore” and she wanted nothing more than to stay where she was for as long as Levi would allow.
He smelled funny now what with his skin being coated in a fine layer of chlorine filled water but that wasn’t enough to deter her in any fashion and before she could stop herself she was kissing the line of his neck.
“I can’t help that I like you,” she whispered, answering his retort later rather

Levi:
It was like being in a large bath, one that had a slight current to it. The warm water lapped at them as they stood there and Levi almost felt like he was being carried off. As Lorelai buried her head in his shoulder, Levi stepped forward, nudging the girl against the side of the pool and against him. He slipped his hands back further behind her, making sure that it was his knuckles that hit the gritty wall of the pool rather than her skin. This was his way of anchoring the pair of them to the side while he worked on a way to encourage Lorelai out from her embarrassment, but he quickly became distracted by the feeling of their bodies entangled together. When she began to kiss his neck, Levi closed his eyes for a moment, expelling a calm breath and melting into the sensation. He didn’t say anything at that point, just hummed a sound of approval.

Lorelai:
His lack of response to her advances gave her hope, as once again he didn’t seem to either try to encourage or discourage her behaviour. The soft sound that came from him was more than enough to tell her that her behaviour wasn’t entirely unwelcome and so she continued to let her lips play across his skin; their path winding its way along his jawline and to his lips.
It had been a strange night so far and Lorelai was getting emotional whiplash from all the to-ing and fro-ing he was doing as he fought to keep her at arm’s length and yet it was all too easy to forget the number of times he’d held back from her, as he now held her in place. She knew he’d likely stop her soon, as he always did, but that fact wasn’t going to stop her from trying to garner his attention while she had it.
Her kisses were soft but insistent as she clung to him, her instincts taking over as she pressed herself out from the wall and against his chest. The swimming pool wasn’t perhaps the right place for her to make her move and yet everything about it seemed perfectly natural as the warm waters moved about them. Its movement was comforting to her as it caressed her skin, the warmth of it reminding of her of who she was when she was alive. Of all the things the blonde vampire could miss, warmth was one of the ones at the top of her list, and so for the briefest of moments she could almost fancy herself human again.

Levi:
Levi wasn’t thinking much in those moments. The warm water had eased his mind, the comfortable touch relaxed his body and even his heart felt compelled to surrender to the loving embrace of Lorelai. Levi wasn’t thinking in those moments and that was probably a bad thing. When Lorelai’s kisses migrated from his neck to his lips, Levi couldn’t summon any defences or excuses, so returned the kiss in earnest.

Lorelai:
Levi returning the kiss came as a pleasant surprise and it spurred her on. She soon wrapped her legs around his waist, her kisses demanding his attention as she deepened them with a passion she hadn’t felt in many months. She wanted Levi, more than he likely wanted her but she didn’t worry about that in that moment. He’d only go as far as he was willing and they were both free to do as they pleased.

Levi:
With eyes closed, Levi didn’t hold any power to resist. As Lorelai locked her legs around his waist and hitched against him, he held her tighter, but the sudden friction and subsequent pleasure quickly alerted him to what he was doing. Levi opened his eyes, breaking from their kiss to shift his head back and look at her. There was a look of confusion on his face because he wasn’t sure if this was such a good idea, but at the same time, he was obviously into it.

Lorelai:
He broke away from her and she opened her eyes to stare into his. He looked confused, but she didn’t think anything of what they were doing should cause him to look at her like that. She offered him a soft, re-assuring smile and brought her hand back so that her fingers could move through his hair.
“Please don’t stop,” she said before leaning in to kiss him again. “I want this,” she whispered. “I want you. And I think you want me too. Please don’t stop.” Her lips found his again as she tried to pull him back into the moment.

Levi:
Although he moved to take the hand out of his hair, getting easily frustrated by that small action, Levi found himself distracted by Lorelai’s breathy pleading and the looks of yearning on her face. As she began to kiss him again, he felt utterly played and utterly powerless to stop himself from being played. His hand quickly returned to its place behind her back and then he started kissing her again. Levi was still in a state of turmoil because he knew that going there with Lorelai was just asking for trouble. On the other hand, he felt rather obliged to carry on at that point. With the kissing growing in passion and his hands moving to seek out the sensual curves of her flesh, all he could really think to do was carry on.

Narrator:
The pair lost themselves in one another in the swimming pool right up until the moment it became evident that things were going to progress to a level that would require some sort of contraceptive. At this point, the action moved to Levi’s dressing room. There wasn’t much reason for them to stay at the spa after that, as it seemed more appropriate to continue the evening back at Lorelai’s apartment. Levi hadn’t wanted to break the mood and confronting the staff at Laguna Spa would have put a dampener on the evening as quickly as throwing it out there that Lorelai was the virgin Levi – for some reason – assumed she kind of was. As a result, the pair tomed to Lorelai’s apartment and made use of the perfectly adequate bed that she had there, including the shower some few hours later.
