Help with Hacking

Hi! .... i am doing the tutorial, and i am in the part of "hacking".....i am trying to do it with the "simulator" , but the thing is that i dont know what to do ....i check some forum post, but i dont get nothing that can help me....i enter in the wiki, and with that information i am not able to know what to do

i have to do this:

i always get "locked out of system" .....always!! i dont know what else to do plase i need help ...thanks!

The problem is you're trying to bypass the 'authentication' without dealing with it, which raises your alert level immediately.

When you connect to a system, you'll get either

+ Security program "authentication" has pinged you, awaiting clearence authentication
OR
+ Security program "sentinel" is present in this node.

Before doing anything else, you have to deal with either of those by using the Mask V1(authentication) or Stealth V1(sentinel)

Then proceed as you're doing with dsp nodes_connecting (or just connect directly to 10_9_security).

The exception is with tracer - you can ignore tracer and it will not kick you, ever. You're also able to ignore warrior IF your alert level is green. Hopefully that helps.

ETA: Also, make sure you're in 2. Run a training simulation. and NOT 'enter a random system'

Hacking takes a lot of patience, and you really need to be careful on what moves you make. It's not for everyone, and even I get frustrated with it sometimes...and Aliyah has been a hacker from the get-go.

Whenever you enter a security node (ex. 11_9 security), you will have to be prepared for a system that is designed to kick you out, such authentication or sentinel, or warrior if you are NOT green. Tracers are just whatever, and almost serve to trick you into wasting the moves you have left to get rid of it.

also if it is authentication, run maskv1 if you have it
a failed mask raises the alert lvl one a failed delete raises it 2

Fixed. I wasn't sure which progs newbies got in the tutorial, but you're right - mask/stealth

so more or less, the thing is to "delete" all "nodes" , and once you delete all, you can "read" the file??

but sometimes, you clik on delete, and nothing happen.....so in this case, i have to go to another "node" , to deleat it, and then come back again to delete this??

Your English is fine

You don't need to delete everything, you just need to get to a file node and Transfer one file. I'll just run through this step by step with an example. When I say 'ping' I mean you get an alert about a program in the node.

CONNECT
> Sentinel pings you
Run Stealth V1(sentinel)
Move to 10_9_security
> Authentication pings you
Run Mask V1(authentication)
Run dsp nodes_connecting

• ---> If there's a file node, go there (for this, I'll say 10_8_files is there; if there's no file node, go to another security node)

Run 10_8_files
> tracer pings you inside the file node - ignore it
Run Transfer V1(any file in the system)

And then disconnect. That's it. :)

also, you get a copy of commander v1, which lets you see the nodes available, so you dont 'need' to run 'dsp nodes_connecting' in the drop down the nodes will show, and you can just go to the nearest file node.
