Now Hiring [Forsyth]

Post by Sence »

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

* Sence was leaning over the front counter, scribbling away at some numbers as she listened to Theodore restock the shelves while listening to the song on the radio, the tall telepath glancing at the blue eyed man briefly before amber eyes returned to the paper in front of her. "Theo, your music is loud. Turn it down, I cannot concentrate." She spoke, the Spanish accent flourishing over her quick words. Rolling his eyes as he walked away, he smiled when he heard the camera and sensor alarm going off and decided to duck away into the woman's office to let her deal with the customer.

* Forsyth entered the building, mainly he was just walking around exploring the many places in the city. He just ended up in this place somehow. The tall blue eyed man decided just to walk around the store, looking at things quietly to himself, and not paying much mind to the girl behind the counter. He was quiet, keeping to himself without saying hello. But he couldn't be blamed for being rude, he was still new, and a little on edge with things.

* Sence felt a pat on her backside from Theo as he passed, causing her to jump and glare at the human before she watched the stranger momentarily. After a few moments, she moved out from behind her counter reluctantly, her safe place. They had told her that it wouldn't be hard for her to socialize, and here was her chance to prove it, wasn't it? "Can I help?" And then she looked a little strained, searching for the words, "I am Sence. This is my shop."

* Forsyth folded his arms on his chest and looked through the shelves as he walked by each one. He wasn't paying much mind on purchasing anything, seeing as he was low on cash. He stopped and picked up an item to look at it for a moment before he set it down, only to be startled by a sudden voice near by. Forsyth open his mouth and then closed it, thinking of something to say. The man was shy, he couldn't help it. "I-- No, just looking." He gave a crooked smile that slowly faded. "I'm Forsyth." He stuffed his hands in his jean pockets.

* Sence gave a small smile, recognizing the action from her own experiences and automatically, from habit, appraised the man as she stood near him. Paladin had made her become cautious after getting stabbed a few times, wary. Afraid. "It is nice to meet you. Do not hesitate if you have any questions." She stepped back, hearing Theodore call her name afterwards and she turned when he reminded her about the help wanted ads. "You are pain in my behind." She frowned, "You are taller. Silly man." She shook her head, smiling lightly to Forsyth. "If you will excuse me." She bowed her and went to collect the signs, "I am asking Connie to make Nathan have use of you. Maybe Nine will be kind enough to help me.

* Forsyth nodded with hand with a small smile. "Thanks." He then began to walk around for a little longer. He rarely liked to leave a store without purchasing something, especially if the owner would come to him. He sighed and took out the little cash he had in his pocket, not much he had at his name. The man moved up to the counter and tapped his finger tips. "Uhm," He thought, trying to remember her name. "Sence?" He called out her name. Maybe somehow he could get a job, he didn't know about the help wanted sign at all. Just figured he'd give it a shot. He tried other places and had no luck, maybe this place would give him that luck.

* Sence bickered with Theo quietly before she ultimately convinced the thrall to go and put up the signs himself, a triumphant smirk playing across her lips, only because she threatened to make him deal with the cranky girls that adored her sire and wanted his candles on his day off. "Yes?" The brunette asked, stepping out from her office to look at Forsyth, blinking after. "How many I help you?"

* Forsyth leaned against the counter until the woman paid him mind, a faint grin on his lips. "I thought I would give this a shot. Is there, well, any job open here?" He asked with hope in his eyes. "I may be new but I have some experience with customer service." The man shrugged his broad shoulders. "Well and if not I totally understand." He sighed, 'nice going now you're just babbling' he thought to himself as he pushed back a bit from the counter.

* Sence glanced at her thrall and then at the man once more. She was quiet for a moment, appraising him. "You are rather new." She murmured softly under her breath and then watched as Theodore walked out of the shop whistling a Justin Bieber tune. "I am hiring for three of my shops." Smoothing out her skirt, the thin woman knelt down to dig through things to find the applications. After a moment, she mumbled something and stood up. "If you excuse me a moment." She turned to go back into her office, finding them on the desk and mentally using her powers to print more off as she returned. "This or That." She motioned around her to show it was the shop name, "Light Them Up, a candle shop. My brother works there." She resisted the urge to say sire as a group of people walked in, "And Build-A-Buddy, where stuffed animals are made by children with help of employees."

* Forsyth stood back as the woman spoke and nodded, his arms folding back over his chest. He kept to himself a lot as of lately, cautiously too. "Okay." He said lightly with a nod as he waited there, glancing around the store a bit more until she returned. "Uhm, so I should fill out one of those." He nodded his head towards the paper stack of so called 'applications'.

* Sence held out one, a nod being given. "Yes. Although I will hire you, just give me a moment to find a suitable position." She murmured, pretending to type at her computer as she mentally searched through the man's mind. "How are you at a computer?" Clerical. Did she have a clerical position open?

* Forsyth took the piece of paper and looked over it quietly. "I'm good with computers," he looked up at the woman then. "I've worked with them a lot before. I can work with anything that you have to offer. I will learn, I'm good at learning." His eyes went back down to the paper, 'babbling, that's all you're doing, stop looking like an idiot'. He worried his bottom lip nervously, maybe this place will be another turn down.

* Sence nodded, holding out a pen to the man, turning to point behind her, "Follow me, please." She said as Theodore returned. He brushed snow off his shirt. "Theo, please go check the other shops for me. And bring Connie the gift basket for me?" She frowned, ignoring the look he gave her. She tossed a balled up piece of paper at his head before heading into her office. "When did you come to Harper Rock, or have you lived here?" As she lowered hereslf to her seat, Sence's hand went to her ribs as pain ripped through her torso and her amber eyes closed briefly as she let out a heavy exhale.

* Forsyth took the pen quietly and nodded, the paper held in his hand. The man followed when he was told, silently behind. "About three days ago I came here." He said quietly. He stood there in the office, not entierly sure weather to sit or stand, he didn't know what was going on at the exact moment. Nerves tended to settle over him with new people. He blue gaze wandered down to her ribs and then to her facial expression. "You alright there?"

* Sence motioned at the desk, "You may use to apply. Please sit." She then motioned at one of the two chairs in front of it, leaning back as she kept her ribs pressed against. "I was in accident a few years. Did not heal properly." Or entirely, but she couldn't explain it to another vampire, could she? It was a question she wondered. "How long have you been vampire?" She motioned for him to shut the door, despite the fact she wasn't too concerned with humans overhearing.

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

* Forsyth blinked and turned to close the door before he went to sit down on one of the chairs, moving it a bit closer to the desk so he could write. "Again, I'm not just new to this city, but this so called vampire life." He glanced at the woman under his eyelids, still writing down on the application. That's the reason he was uneasy, nervous, all because he was new to this 'life'.

* Sence watched him quietly. She nodded. "It is not bad. Sires aid much. Mine is like a brother to me, very good friend. Ask yours for help, you are likely to get it." She smiled, "My turning was not pleasant, though not his fault. My ribs are still open wounded, in a way. But, I do not mind. Small price of pain to pay for much happiness."

* Forsyth kept quiet while she talked, just focusing on the paper below him until he finished. He handed it to her with a small smile. "Well yes, I am getting help from my sire. And other family too as I continue to run into them."

* Sence nodded once more and settled into her chair more as she closed her eyes and fell silent, beginning to hack through a system and check for a hacking raid. She was still looking for a bane for Theo. From habit, the telepath began to speak into his mind. The action itself was more comfortable for Sence, who didn't enjoy speaking out loud too often. The words were smoother, less broken. "That's good, family is very important."

* Forsyth sat there awkwardly to himself, hands in his lap. He just simply watched and waited for her to speak. And no, he did not expect to hear a voice in his head. He jumped in the chair and stood up, glancing around the room and then down to the woman. "Was, was that you?" He furrowed his eyebrows. Something he didn't expect to happen, or even use to.

* Sence opened her eyes and blinked. She nodded. "I am telepath, sorry. Habit. I do not like speaking out often, much easier to connect to minds." She frowned, "I did not mean to frighten you."

* Forsyth shook his head and slowly lowered himself back down on the chair. "No, no, it's okay. Just not use to that. I'm telepath too."Just don't know how to use it yet." He laughed quietly to himself. "If it's easier for you, you can just do that, now that I know it's you."

* Sence smoothed out her skirt. "I know, it is another ability I have." She smiled again, though lightly. When he said it was alright, she mentally made sure to lower her voice while speaking. Despite it being around two years, she still had difficult. "Mindspeak is useful. I do not like my phone. Theo handles it."

* Forsyth nodded and leaned back a bit in the chair just to get a bit more comfortable, though the tension in his body was still noticeable. "I'll need to learn how to do that then." He smiled faintly at her. "How long have you been, uhm, a vampire?"

* Sence did the math, paying no mind to the tension as she thought about it quietly. "I was turned September of 2012. So, I have been two years. Quiet two years. I went to see my mama before she died a while back, returned to be with my Sire and sister." She spoke into his mind easily, "I am from Canada. Toronto. I was studying the wildlife before a bear ended my life. My sire came across me as I was dying."

* Forsyth raised an eyebrow as he continued to listen to her speak, nodding when it was appropriate. "You have an accent, doesn't sound like Canadian." he thought about what he just said, and sighed, rubbing his forehead. "Well two years is long. I'm a little nervous to go see my family. I've been missing to them for three days now."

* Sence smiled, chuckling. "Mama moved us from Spain. We learned English here, but spoke the way we do over all. Difficult, but I like it. Unique." She shrugged, "Two years is not bad. I do not mind, my family is gone. I have a new family now. I am happy."

* Forsyth nodded his head. "That explains it." he tapped his fingers along the arm rest of the chair. "Yeah I guess I have a new family now, too, new life as well." He glanced at her and then down to the paper quietly.

* Sence watched him, curious. "It is not bad. Sometimes a new life is what some need to restart and find themselves. I was a photographer. Now I am successful in business."

* Forsyth raised his eyebrow and then his eyes to catch her gaze. "I guess it's about time I start a new life myself. I'll probably be stuck here. Just can't leave and be on my own, not knowing what the hell to do." He offered a light smile. "What to you like about this place?"

* Sence gave a nod of her head. "It is not bad to be stuck here. I have been near worse." Tilting her head back, the amber eyed woman considered the question quietly and debated. What did she like best about Harper Rock? "I do not know, to be honest. It is very homey all around. Probably my family, my sire. He has kept me here when things get rough."

* Forsyth nodded and stood up from the chair, he didn't like to sit for long. "Well I'll just have to see how things turn out when I meet family, learn things, maybe work." He shrugged and stuffed his hands in his jean pockets.

* Sence looked slightly amused. "You did not hear when I said I would hire you, yes?" She shook her head, "Everyone deserves a shot." A smile stayed on her lips as she spoke mentally and then leaned forward to collect the application, reading it over. "I will add you to roster, but mainly ask you come in daily after sunrise. A couple hours, as I usually go in shifts to check each shop. Theo is usually here by himself, so if he is near, ask him and I will know. He text messages much."

* Forsyth glanced at her and nodded. "Yeah I heard you." his lips formed a faint smile. "And I appreciate it, giving me a shot. Lets just hope I don't get lost around here, I still don't know it or memorized any of the streets."

* Sence shook her head, "It is not difficult. The mall is here, Swansdale. Wickbridge is close transit." She paused, pulling open a drawer as she begun to rifle through it in search of a map. When she found it, she held it out to him. "Here. I know where I need to go."
* Forsyth took the map and looked at it for a moment. "Thanks. This will sort of help." he grinned crookedly at the woman. "Thanks for the help, Sence. And the job."

* Sence nodded her head, a small smile playing across her lips. "You are welcome. Come in tomorrow, I will have a schedule written up for you." Afterwards, she picked up a business card with her numbers and email on it, "If you need to reach me, or Theodore, our numbers are listed here. I will probably not text. It is easier to simply speak into the mind for me."

* Forsyth took the card and placed it safely in the pocket of his jeans. "I'll make sure to put it in my phone, uhm, but since it's easier for you to speak into the mind you can contact me that way? I'll try to learn it myself." He glanced at the door and then to her. "I should be heading out now.. Don't want to keep your time."

* Sence stood, pressing down on her ribs more due to the weather causing the injury to act up more than she particularly cared for. "That will be easier. Thank you." She moved to open the door, holding it open to let him out as Theo was nearly hit by it. "Did Connie like her gift?" She looked amused when he groaned, glancing back to Forsyth. "It was nice to meet you. I will see you at work."

* Forsyth nodded and stopped as the other man was near the door. "Yeah, I'll be here tomorrow." He glanced back at Sence and then took his leave out of the back office. He stopped at the front of the counter. "Thanks again." He said one last time before he headed out of the store just to explore the streets more.
