Happily Never After (those attending the party)

Post by Klara »

((Party invitation thread http://www.mooncalfstudios.com/pathofth ... =6&t=24058))

Klara’s bedroom and living room was scattered with ‘princess dresses’, trying to find just the perfect dress to wear Saturday night for her ‘Happily Never After’ party. Boxes of shoes and dresses had been sent over from various dress shops along with fake tiara’s that looked like the real thing. She wanted to be beautiful and this night was a perfect new beginning for her; the beginning of the next chapter of life as a single woman.

In a million years, she would have never guessed that she would have been willing to leave Simon but he had left her with no choice. Looking back on things, she was even more confident in her assumptions and realized she had given both of them the benefit of doubt a lot longer than she should have. It was hard having your fairytale life dissolved into nothingness so quickly. She had gotten the message loud and clear and he had gotten his wish she reasoned but now it was time to stop looking back and look towards the future.

“Decisions, decisions”, she muttered as she went through trying them all on again. The bed was a sea of taffeta and silk, all in various shades of blue. She finally narrowed it down to two dresses, one almost identical to the Disney movie and the other a blue ball gown that gave one visions of Cinderella.

“Damn it, the heart, I forgot the heart”, she gasped wanting to have the heart in a jar since each character was supposed to have been killed, like her marriage. What better way for Cinderella to die than her heart was ripped out by Prince Charming.

Klara grabbed the phone and googled meat markets looking for fresh hearts; only a real heart would suffice. “Hello is this Telly’s Meat Market,” she nodded, “I was wondering if it would be possible to get a heart today?” She knew she could just go rip one from a human but that just created a lot of problems and she really did not have time to get rid of the body anyways. “Oh good, I’ll be right down.” She texted Doc to see if she could borrow from formaldehyde to keep the heart in. He quickly responded it would be waiting for her at the front desk.

Hours later, she returned laying her packages on the table and giggled as she looked at the collection. One pig heart, one jar of formaldehyde, earrings, nail polish, faux white mink stole, the pin the tail on the donkey game with Simon’s head photo-shopped onto it, and dummy with body parts written on it and daggers. She finally had everything ready.

Klara was not as happy go lucky as she appeared to be. Each day was getting easier especially with the help of her friends, both new and old. She was determined not to let her emotions ruin the night. Looking at the dresses once more, she made her choice picking the blue ball gown, the updated Cinderella. Her shoes were actually called Cinderella slippers and she would wear them again. Looking at the time, it was almost time for her company to arrive and began to pack the rest up before she changed her mind.

Pi knew she’d arrived too early, even too early for politeness. The caterers or decorators hadn’t arrived yet, there was no bustle of life preparing the venue for the night with people and when Pi asked the staff of the bar she as told that the private area the party would be held wasn’t yet open for guests. They then gave her a funny look, their gaze surreptitiously checking the time before sliding back to her. Their expressions were blank but she could imagine the thoughts running through their minds, of her punctuality (or in this case the extreme case of it). What she’d hoped to gain by coming so early, was to catch Klara before the crowds arrived, to apologise for both her and Elliot’s lack of attendance and to assure the women, if they could, they’d have been there all night to help her celebrate her event.

Actually, what Pi was hoping to do was catch a couple minutes alone with the woman just to talk. To ask her what this party meant (the invitation was leading at best, and called to mind more questions than answered) and to apologise and to catch up since they hadn’t since Christmas. But her luck hadn’t held and her attempt to catch Klara before hand was thwarted by the early hour.

Turning back to the bar she handed the staff a note to be delivered to Klara when she arrived. It was a greeting card, picked out by Pi herself. It featured two stick figures, one obviously male the other female holding a wine glass, a shocking red triangle stick figure dress one and the words blazoned across the top of the card. “Congratulations on your freedom.” It was meant to be a lighthearted card, and inside she had signed it for her and Elliot, a little something for Klara, even though they both couldn’t be there.

“For now and for the future… luck and good fortune always, Elliot & Pi”

It was a bit sentimental, and a little ‘human’ but Elliot was right about many things and this one rang just as true. Just because you become a vampire, doesn’t mean you can’t continue to be human, act human and be humane. To love and be loved, to be weak and have weakness. To write cards to people you care about and want to ensure they are okay and cared for. Who said being a vampire negated humanity? Wasn’t it also right that humanity could be found in being a vampire? Once she allowed that she didn’t have to bad *** killer, then she was coming to accept that it was okay to be… a better human, despite being a very good vampire. One, didn’t have to negate the other.

Leaving the card with the staff she text Klara, letting her know she’d been there and something awaited her with the staff and left Metronome.

"--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--"

<Jessica>: Jessica stepped out of the shower, wrapped in a towel, another covering her long, thick hair. It was back to her natural golden blonde, but she had...had an incident earlier in the evening. It wasn't her fault that the man had given himself a paper-cut. It had taken so much effort to contain her frenzy, to drag the man - clearly not one of the social elite, judging by the general fragrance following him - into an alleyway to teleport him and herself into the Quarantine, where she drank deeply and cast his corpse to the zombies. She had immediately jumped into the shower, to rid her skin of the blood she had accidentally sprayed over her flesh and hair. As she wrung her hair out one-handed, she tapped out a quick text to Zodiac. <So, that party you told me about. It's tonight? You need help getting ready?>

<Zodiac>: Zodiac sat looking into the monitor of her computer while working her hair when the phone trilled a new message. One hand holding a mass of curls in place while the other checked the message. Instead of texting her reply, she reached her thoughts out. 'If you can spare some time, it would be appreciated. If not, I think I can make due alone.'

<Jessica>: Used to Zodiac's standard method of communication, Jess laughed quietly and tapped out a response. }If you don't mind, I'd actually like to come along? Ordered a dress and a tiara...made my necklace, though.{ It was easily done - a decorative vial full of black feral blood labeled with the word POISON and strung onto a chain. Reply sent, the blonde Mystic tugged on a pair of panties and a simple sundress, gathering the components of her costume into a large tote.

<Zodiac>: She grinned as she read the reply. 'I wonder what does 'poison' have to do with her outfit' she pondered as she tried to get her hair up and pinned to allow for her head dress to sit properly. So far her attempts were not going to plan and she fumed as several locks fell back into her face.

<Jessica>: With everything gathered, Jess teleported from within her apartment in Corvidae Flats to just outside the second floor of Pandora's Box. A moment was spared to ensure no one had seen her as she knocked on the door. "Hey, boss, it's Jess," she called, smoothing the dress slightly.

<Zodiac>: "Come in," she sighed. She sat in a simple dressing gown while behind her on a rack hung the long black and violet costume she had planned to wear. The imposing head dress sat on a nearby bench. A tall wizard's staff sat upright in the floor while on top of it, a large black raven sat cawing away. "Shut up, Edgar," the gypsy tried to hush the bird again. She turned and smiled as the girl entered.

<Jessica>: Jess sighed as she spotted the familiar black and purple shades that marked classic Disney Maleficent, a wide grin breaking out on her face. "I clearly made a good choice, albeit modern," the blonde said, hanging the white dress bag beside Zo's costume. It was almost effortless, how she swept over and began pinning the elder woman's hair into a bun on top of her head. "Should have gotten a wig cap," she muttered. "Things do wonders."

<Zodiac>: "Caps are for whimps," she declared as Jessica began her work. "Everyone says cut it, but why? It grows back so fast what's the point?" She watched for a few moments and finally broke a real smile on her face. "Thank you for the rescue, dear."

<Jessica>: "It's no problem," Jess grinned. "Now, I assume you have green body paint hiding here somewhere. I brought my makeup, a blow dryer, and the necessary accoutrements for my hairstyle." She unzipped the garment bag, revealing the jeweled and whimsical blue gown she'd brought. "I was never one for Aurora's pink dress. Always sides with Merryweather on that."

<Zodiac>: Zodiac laughed. "How weird is this that my char supposedly killed yours? And yes, I have the green stuff. Thankfully not that much of me has to be done to work Mal's look right." She stood up and offered her chair to Jessica. "Okay, your turn. Let's see how close I can get to what you want for hair for this."

<Jessica>: Jess chuckled, settling into the offered chair and laying the accessories out. Tangle free rubber bands, bobby pins, and little clip-in jewels. "Makes sense to me," she said, folding her hands in her lap. She already wore the necklace. "I think that in the afterlife, they probably would have set aside their differences."

<Zodiac>: She takes a brush and begins to smooth and separate the girl's hair. "Maybe. I think it would depend on what they each found waiting on the other side." Zodiac gives the pictures a look and begins weave Jessica's hair into place.

<Jessica>: The younger woman held herself still, smirking slightly. "It's my opinion that fairy tale characters always go to the same afterlife when they die. Where they can become something else through learning their mistakes."

<Zodiac>: "Ah, so i this version of an afterlife, Mal would basically being punished while lil Miss Aurora got to prance about without a care in the world? Sounds to me Mal would be more enraged than ever." she ties off one of the braids and starts on another.

<Jessica>: "More like whoever the supposed villain murdered in their life is essentially the therapist. But the victims also have their own flaws to work out. Aurora was vain, and foolish. Naive. She needs to learn that such behavior will always cause problems in life." Jessica twisted her hands together, watching Zodiac's hands fly in her hair. "You're really good at this."

<Zodiac>: "Thank you. When I was a kid, myself and the other children in the tribe was our own hairstylists. Got lots of practice." She picks up a comb and tucks her braid in progress a bit before continuing. "Of course, the older girls and women there taught us as well, so it wasn't like we was a wandering herd of porcupine hair doos."

<Jessica>: The sudden image of a younger version of Zodiac, with a faux Mohawk, suddenly filled her mind. She couldn't help but giggle at the idea. "I should certainly hope not! Gods, that'd be both awkward and very, very funny."

<Zodiac>: "Live and learn. We were never in one place long enough, or could afford, having our hair done. And yes, I was a victim of as well as making a couple of 'disaster-pieces' as well." She shook her head and laughed as she put the finishing touches on the braids. "One of my best friends would not speak to me for a month after I tried to copy a style for her from a magazine photo with no clue how to attack the problem."

<Jessica>: "Oh, don't I know the concept." Jess turned her head this way and that, studying Zodiac's work with a growing grin. "This is fantastic. Just right." She swept to her feet, glancing around. "We should do the body paint. I hope you have a different paint for around your eyes."

<Zodiac>: The gypsy picked up the jar she had purchased for the event. "I figured since Mal wore purple eyeshadow none of this would be needed there. Also, since her costume covers so much I don't have to go the full Orion Slave Girl from Star Trek look. Just the face, so far down the neck, chest and the hands."

<Jessica>: Jess sighed, shaking her head gently. "For seamlessness, I'd advise it. I've worn my share of body paint. Niche shows and the like. I've even worn all green, for a Marvel themed bachelor party. Ended up locking lips with the bachelor in question and the best man snapped a picture." But, at the thought of Zodiac in solid green body paint, she giggled. "A few inches for sliding sleeves and bending over that might happen, though."

<Zodiac>: She considered it for a few moments and nodded while handing her the jar. "Okay, okay. As long as I am not trying to wash that crap off myself in certain places later on."

<Jessica>: "It won't, I promise. I wouldn't even paint down there, and wore pasties." She took the jar, twisting the lid off and taking the brush between the fingers of one hand. "I warn, the bristles will tickle." She set aside the jar, taking Zodiac's left arm and starting at the wrist.

<Zodiac>: Stands still with her arms spread wide. "The things we go through for a party. I swear, if this turns into our hostess moaning and lamenting over her lost 'prince' I will ***** slap her into next week. Nothing worse than a celebration turning into a dirge."

<Jessica>: "Oh, I do agree. There's a reason I chose Aurora myself, though." She sighed lightly, painting up to Zo's elbow before she started in on her palm and fingers. "I didn't tell you, did I?" Her brushstrokes remained steady and smooth, creating an almost seamless green, save the faint lines of her strokes.

<Zodiac>: "No, you didn't. Last time we talked you had mentioned being the witch from Hansel and Gretel if I remember right." She began to giggle as the brush crossed her palm, but held her arm as still as she could.

<Jessica>: "Sorry," she murmured, concerning the gentle touch of brush to palm. "Before Pru turned me, I was a Paladin. Wasn't raised that way, made a choice to be something stronger." She took a deep breath, moving to the back of Zodiac's hand and painting that surface neatly. "I didn't hunt vampires. I ignored my instincts. I just wanted to be stronger. For my brother. But...while I was still here, I found someone."

<Zodiac>: "That seems to happen to more people than we realize," she nodded knowingly while flexing her fingers a bit. "Happens to the best of us actually, but how others respond to such a thing is the real question. So what happened, dear?"

<Jessica>: Spreading the paint down onto Zodiac's shoulders, Jessica inhaled a slightly shuddering breath. "He disappeared from my radar for a while. A few months, actually. I was in the Quarantine when I saw him again. He was..." she shuddered, lifting the brush momentarily before dipping towards Zo's collarbone. "He had bugs under his skin. I could see them. And I threw up on his sire's shoes before running."

<Zodiac>: Blinks and turns despite the painting, causing the brush to drag a swath of green across her chest. "He was infested with insects, yet a vampire?" she looked totally surprised. "I have only heard of one other who had such a condition to their new 'life'. I think I would find a way to destroy myself before dealing with something like that." Closes her eyes and shudders.

<Jessica>: Jessica giggled faintly as she followed the motion easily, painting Zo's other collarbone now. "Yep. It was about a month or so later that Pru found me fighting one of the more...fanatical paladins. I was trying to show Axel that I didn't ******* hunt vampires." She scoffed, sweeping the brush up Zo's neck for a moment. "Went about it the entire wrong way, and now I'm...this." She gestured at herself with the paint jar, shrugging.

<Zodiac>: "Oh I see. You did not ask to become this either? In that we are much alike. I was enjoying my drab, uneventful little life barely making ends meet when my 'sire' thought it would be 'funny' to turn someone like me." she looked at Jessica directly in the eyes. "That was her word for it. I thought it be funny."

<Jessica>: Shaking her head, Jessica grinned at the woman. "Y'know, boss...we are a lot more alike than most people would expect. Both essentially forced into this life. The only things we share on the surface is our religious preference and our paths." The brush finished with Zodiac's neck, moving to the back of the other shoulder now. "My reason for choosing Sleeping Beauty to be my dead fairy tale character is, my prince never came and broke the spell. I've lain asleep long enough for my breath to stop."

<Zodiac>: She smiled softly at her words. "If I was totally honest, I can say being turned opened doors for me that never would have happened when I lived, but there are nights I miss just myself and Jennifer sitting in that rat infested side shop busting *** just to make a dollar. We gained a lot, yet lost so much as well. And as far as Malificent goes, perhaps I should be more like her at times. No vanity on my part at all, I been around for a bit and have the powers to really mess with others, but I don't. Mal would have no qualms flexing her metaphysical muscles to get what she wants. She was her own woman and took no crap from anyone."

<Jessica>: Jessica nodded, gently stepping around the other woman, sweeping the brush smoothly against her skin. "Like I said, Aurora had problems. She was a vain, spoiled little brat, even raised by the fairies. She really deserved exactly what Mal dealt her. Sure, Mal couldn't have known that would happen." The painting spread wider as she finished off the top of Zo's back, before shifting to the other arm. "So, how do you think Dead Little Mermaid's gonna look?"

"--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--"

<Zodiac>: "An escapee from a Sushi bar?" her laughter filling Jessica's mind gently. "I don't know how someone will pull that one off but I am sure it will be different." She wiggled the finished limb and was surprised how the paint did not crinkle from her movements. "Perhaps Mal was jealous. Saw all that effort poured into Aurora and the girl wasted it." she shrugged. "One thing I will tell you, Jess. We are both survivors in this. Never let anyone tell you different or make you feel less than. In that much, we probably make our alter-egos for the evening proud."

<Jessica>: Jessica nodded, hazel orbs flicking to Zodiac's finished arm. "The more you move it before the paint dries, the more believable it is. Believe me," she commented, quickly breezing through the second arm, from elbow to wrist, before starting on the other hand. "I only hope she doesn't use the scent to accompany it. Rotten fish. Ew." She didn't know how to comment on the rest of Zodiac's words, so instead, she nodded, as she painted her palm.

<Zodiac>: "Yeah, that would be too much realism for my tastes as well." Begins to work her painted limb while trying not to toss off Jessica's work on the other. "Maybe I should break out into dance when your done then?"

<Jessica>: Jess grinned, watching the other woman flex her arm as she finished with the last finger. "Next step, getting the dress on without smearing. Maybe we should get me dressed, first." She glanced from the striking black and violet to the soft, powder blue. "All I'll need help with is the zipper. I brought one of those salon ponchos for the makeup portion."

<Zodiac>: Flexing her fingers several times before gently touching the table to be sure they have dried. She waits until Jessica has her dress in place and adjusted before drawing up the zipper into place.

<Jessica>: Jess held the jeweled collar in place with one hand, glad she'd painted her nails silver rather than some other color. Silver complimented her entire look far better than anything, save a matched shade of blue. Arranging her hair down her left shoulder, she turned to the nearest mirror futilely as Zodiac finished zipping her into the dress. Upon seeing the woman she'd stolen the life of - what was her name again? Something pretty, maybe Camille or Emma - she paused, turning away again. "We should definitely get you dressed now."

<Zodiac>: Gave an appraising look as the girl posed in her attire. "Do yourself a favor." she pointed to the cam and computer set up. "Mirrors can't show us, but digital imaging is another thing. It's how I do my make up daily. You should get a good look of yourself in the camera." Zodiac patted her shoulder before turning to the hangers and took down the dress part of her own outfit and stepped into it.

<Jessica>: The blonde took a deep breath, stepping towards the camera and smoothing the dress out gently. She already looked ethereal, but she tugged her phone - a recent acquisition - and flicked to the YouTube video she would be using to base her makeup before digging out the required colors and primer. The only divergence she would take was replacing the brilliant red at the center of the eyelid with a deep sapphire blue. Quickly, she set about doing so, following the instructions to the letter until her eyelids glittered like they'd been sprinkled with fairy dust. Then she pulled out a rich purple and a fresh brush. "Want me to do your eyes?"

<Zodiac>: As Jess was working, Zodiac experimented with how well the girl's paint job held up with how she would move within the dress. So far, no traces of her normal alabaster hued flesh was seen, She lifted a gold chain from the dress hook that held a golden letter opener shaped like a sword. She slipped it over her neck. Her visual representation of how Malificent died in the original animated movie. All that remained was the cloak and the horned head dress. "If it will make you happy, why not." the gypsy took a seat. "I am already upset that I will be wearing funeral red on my lips and fingers so help me preserve my violet vixeness." she laughed.

<Jessica>: Jess quickly remembered that she hadn't even painted Zodiac's face yet, so, reaching into her own bag for a smaller brush, she dipped it into the paint and gently began tracing over the older woman's features, holding her still by the curve of her chin. "I nearly forgot to do this," she giggled, gesturing to the salon poncho. "Can you snap that on? Don't wanna splatter your dress with green," she giggled softly, allowing the woman a view of the camera's display screen while she worked on her cheeks
Michaela Martin is typing...

<Zodiac>: "Good point!" She reached over and got the pancho in place before leaning back and letting the girl work. "That would have been weird. Malificent in white face?"

<Jessica>: Jessica nodded with another laugh, painting around the woman's lips, leaving them bare. "I could always use the chapstick and eyeshadow trick to give you inky black lips, if you wanted," she offered, intentionally giving her Cupid's bow a slightly exaggerated sharpness while painting up over her nose. "Always does wonders when I have to do a devil or goth chick."

<Zodiac>: "Oh trust me, I have some quality black lipstick in my drawer, but sadly the original Mal had red lips and nails and I am trying to fit in to the character tonight, so red it is." she fumed. "Where I come from, when you die, they dress you in red. I have already 'died' so I shy away from the color except for highlights in my outfits and such."

<Jessica>: "I understand," she replied. She'd forgotten the detail of red in Maleficent's original Disney look. "I could still use that trick for a better shade of red, if you wanted. Eyeshadow creates a wider range of shading possibilities." In a matter of minutes, the facepainting was complete, including the edges of Zo's eye sockets, where the powdered makeup would be blended into the green. "I hope you don't mind if I give it a more natural look. More realistic. I'm not a fan of block eyeshadow."

<Zodiac>: "I leave myself in your capable hands," she closed her eyes and relaxed in the chair.

<Jessica>: With a grin, Jess set to work, applying the vibrant, almost toxic shade of purple to Zo's eyelids with ease, blending it very gently into the green at the edges. It was like a Halloween Disney costumer's dream, how easy it was for Jessica to nail Maleficent's eyes in realism. And how quickly she was able to finish it. "I think I'll leave your lips to you," she commented as she finished, roughly four minutes later. "Not one to interfere with a lady's aesthetic, especially with lip color." She dug out a tube of clear lip gloss, gently dabbing it on her own lips before setting it aside. Now she just had to strap into those damnable shoes she'd picked out and she'd be ready for the finishing touches. "Should I add some veins around the mouth, to represent the poison's effects?"

<Zodiac>: "If you'd like. Mal looked half dead anyways in the cartoon, so I had not considered it, but on Aurora it might not be bad. Just don't get too zombie with it." She sat up and inspected the girl's work and grinned. A tube of deep red lipstick was pulled from the back of her make up drawer and she layered it on. Zodiac did a few faces in the monitor and let both sets of her fangs show in the process. "Lovely, if you are into red," She got up and out of Jessica's way and began to ease her head into the horned head dress and strap it into place. "Good thing these are fake. I'd be face down on the ground after three steps if they was real."

<Jessica>: Jessica pulled out a small angled brush and her collection of red shades, a full palate of twenty-five shades. She mixed two of them and started tracing tiny, tiny veins from the right corner of her mouth, giving herself a relatively disturbing look from one side, while the other was normal. On a whim, she traced another vein from the corner of her right eye, giving herself a further sickening look. "Looks fantastic," Jess commented, concerning the horns, as she set aside the brush and makeup to pick up her tiara, settling it atop her head carefully. She was very thankful for the combs. "Help me with my sandals? Lots of buckles."

<Zodiac>: She laughed as she moved to help the girl with her footware. "Another advantage of Mal's costume in play." Zodiac grabbed the hem of the dragging skirt and lifted to reveal her green, yet bare, feet. "Never saw her shoes in the cartoon, so I am using creative license there and saying she wore none." She crouched down and began to work the various buckles into place.

<Jessica>: Jessica grinned. "I would've worn a set of pointed stiletto boots, for added imposing height and less painted surface," she commented, kicking one foot slightly, then the other, as Zo buckled them into place. Slowly, she stood, studying the camera's view of her. "D'you think I need anything else?"

<Zodiac>: As Jessica checked herself out a final time, Zodiac slipped on the long black and violet cape to complete her own look. She stood behind Jessica and smiled a fang filled grin. "Nothing I can think of, dear one. Too good for mankind. Living or otherwise."

She then turned and approached the wizard's staff she had prepared and looked up at Edgar, who had perched on it the entire time. "Now, are you going to behave yourself or do I have to fry a raven in front of the crowd?" Edgar gave a sharp caw before flapping off his perch and settling onto the woman's shoulder. The gypsy petted him gently as she took the staff in hand.
Image
<Jessica>: "Edgar, huh?" Jess commented, one hand idly gesturing to the raven. "That's a great name for him." She would've grabbed something else, an animal companion for the evening, but her options were rather limited. Owls, bunnies, red breasted robins...she'd be lucky if the creature she picked survived the first hour of the party. So she let it be, choosing to be the dead princess on her lonesome. "How are we getting there?" she finally asked. The sight of them in the transit would be comical: Maleficent with her raven companion and Princess Aurora with bloody veins tracing from her mouth and eye.

<Zodiac>: She smiled at her friend now. "Silly child. Ladies such as ourselves do not just arrive. We make entrances, and damn good ones too." She whispered into her ear where to aim herself to teleport as she pulled several small glass beads from a bag tied around her hip. "When I say go, follow me!" she winked.

<Jessica>: Jessica giggled at the murmured destination, digging around in her bag before pulling out a collection of blue ribbons. "I am so ready for this."

<Zodiac>: Impulsively, she hugged the girl tight for a moment. Now, that's my girl." Zodiac spread her arms and focused her inner energies and whispered "Now!" a second before she faded from view.

When she felt herself begin to rematerialize, Zodiac threw her arm downwards, letting the glass beads slam and break against the floor forming under her feet. The effect was quite profound as Malificent appeared in a burst of smoke and green flash fire in the location the party was being held. For anyone not of the vampire side of existence, the evidence would suggest that the woman's appearance was nothing more than a well played parlor trick.
Image
<Jessica>: Jessica was a split second behind Zodiac, tossing her hands up, unleashing the long satin ribbons like confetti over herself, Zodiac, and anyone within a two-foot radius of herself. She couldn't resist a bubbly giggle as she materialized mid-fire-burst.

<Zodiac>: "When you return from the afterlife, you do it with style!" Zodiac winked at Jessica and began to laugh.

<Jessica>: Jessica nodded eagerly, one hand smoothing the back of her dress. She often found herself with an unfortunate case of blowing skirt, which showcased whatever underwear she was wearing. However, this time, she was lucky. "It's so good to be back!" she said, before dissolving into giggles herself.

There were still several hours to go before the event at the Metro was set to begin. Alexandrea didn't know who the young woman was that was hosting the party, besides that her name was Klara and she wanted to celebrate the start of her new life. Not knowing anything about the circumstances, however, the wording of the announcement the blonde had read did give a few clues. The other young Vampiressi seemed to suffer from the same aliment as Alex Q. A broken heart.

But unlike a certain mopey blonde, this other woman was standing strong and wanted to invite everyone to come share in her starting a brand new chapter in her life. Or should that be 'unlife'? Didn't matter, not to Alex. She knew what she meant even if no one else seemed to half the time. The Allurist sighed, feeling slightly envious of the apparent positive attitude of this stranger that she had only ever just exchange a few words with on Crownet. It wasn't in Alexandrea's nature to be an envious soul however and so she had picked out a small gift from her shop. A hairpin she had made herself when feeling especially optimistic. She hoped that Klara would find the image as deeply symbolic and inspirational as Alexandrea did.

"New beginnings, and time for a change." The Allurist murmured softly, lost in thought as she began to dress, pulling on the costume she'd made when she first heard about Klara's party and learned it's theme. Alexandrea sat down with a webcam and started to fix her hair, the long wavy strands dyed temporarily for the evening, and worn up to allow her back and the means of this little mermaid's death plain to see.

Once the hairdo was secured with a few gem tipped bobby pins and silk flowers, Alex took the fade portal from her lair to her shop. She planned to walk from the mall to the Metronome, once it was time to arrive. Meanwhile the 'blonde' wrapped up Klara's gift. She hoped she would know who to give it to once she got there. The Allurist hadn't bothered to 'look up' the other woman's information, it just felt too intrusive and Alexandrea was hoping to make friends with her Hostess. Maybe some of whatever had gotten Klara passed whomever had let her go and ready to brought from her cocoon, would rub off on Alex.

Corin walked in and looked around she was dressed like Elsa from Frozen in a blue gown with her hair done the same way. In her hand was a frozen heart and she had to laugh at that because she thought it was cool that she was going like this. She made her way into the place and just took a seat and waited for others to show up. She was a bit shy but that was an understatement.

((The following is a live chat roll Play ))

Mortll: Mortll wakes up with him there a pleasant smile on her face "Hello There nice to have you here " she enjoys having him next to her
doc: *he smiles at her* "I wanted to make sure you were alright.. not that I was worried...better safe than sorry.."
Mortll: "Thank you I like having you here you make a good pillow " she smiled at him
doc: *Doc brushed her hair back.* You going to be able to make it to the party tonight?
Mortll: She moved and wiggled around she was still a bit tender but she would be fine for a party "Yes i think ill be just fine Thank you again for taking such good care of me "
doc: He kissed her. "Good.. I have to head to the office .. do payroll.. go get my weave for my costume done.. and I will meet you at the party then.. Alright?"

Mortll: "Sounds like a plan to me a weave hummm You will look sexy with long hair... she smiled ill have to run my fingers through that see how well they do it "

doc: "Deal.. " he winks.. "I've heard that Carmen might show up.. I hope so.. don't be angry if I spend some time with her.." what Mortll wouldn't know is that Doc argued with Phoenix for nearly 3 hours because he ditched Phoenix in favor of Mortll; so he is a bit sensitive.

Mortll: "Oh i think i can handle you spending time with others " she smiled "your always around when i need you ."
doc: He gave her another Kiss, "Ok.. I will see you at Klara's party.. take your time. I laid out your dress for you. There is a bath already drawn.. though it might be a bit cold.. you slept longer than I thought. Blood pack warming on the stove.. and a belly band.. aka compression strap on the bed. Typically used for hernias, but if you don't tighten it too much, it will help you not scratch at the stitches."

Mortll: "Ohhh thank you that sounds wonderful " she kissed him back slowly "You better scoot if your getting a weave that will take some time and I will see you there at the party "

doc: Doc stood, collected his gun, and shoulder holster, shrugging it on and slipped out.

Mortll watched as he slipped out the door he was always good at taking care of others . She went in search of the blood pack and fed on it hungrily. She warmed the bath up a bit and slid into it minding her stomach the wounds were barely noticeable now but she could still feel them. She would have to do something about them before she went to the party. She sat down in front of the Monitor that she had set up for the sole purpose of getting dressed , mirrors being of no use to her anymore . She started on her hair then the makeup she smiled as it took shape she defiantly looked frosty enough .

Now for the dress she turned it was laid out on the bed it was quite beautiful but not the bright blue you would expect for a Ice Queen no this was a midnight blue a blue that was suitable for a Queen of death .
Image
She put Docs brace on carefully then slipped the dress on carefully making sure the makeup didn't get all over the material she then covered it and put on the more solid makeup on her neck and arms and covered it with a dusting of glitter . She took off the cover up and looked at herself in the monitor the look was complete . She quickly finished up and left her apartment heading to the Club .

The theme for the party was what interested her even though she was in a relationship. Before Reggie, she had been tormented by David, tricked into a marriage. She didn't remember it happening, though there was plenty of proof that it did. She believed he only did it because he hated her and wanted to make sure she couldn't be happy, though that feeling still eluded her. Her relationship with Reggie had taken many times to get to the point to where it was now as she had been dead set on not trusting a male, she was engaged now. Was she happy? She wasn't sure without stabbing her own heart to feel the feelings she never felt otherwise. She suppose she was content. She trusted him and cared about him.

She looked to the ring, making it disappear. It didn't go with the theme. She learned that she could hide one thing on herself. A wound or a weapon. She normally hid a weapon that was otherwise visible so she couldn't get odd looks. All her other weapons were hidden inside her clothes. Tonight wouldn't be any different.

She pulled out the outfit Dru made for her, it was nice, Dru had warned her that Kira had planned on ruining it. For the first time she believed Dru wanted to stab her, even more so when she asked to make a copy of the dress. Kira thought that it might make her feel better to have a nice version.

Kira was going as Rapunzel, she knew the fairy tale story and she figured the death would be thrown into the thorns as it was told that her 'love' had been done losing his sight until he found her again so why not a Repunzel dying that way, Dru said she based the dress off a cartoon version but Kira of course had no idea what she was talking about. She also said she made it different so that it fit Kira's style. Kira took a blonde wig, making a point to cut it in a way that it was clear it was a hack job. She didn't want to use real blood, so she used some left over blood she made for Halloween, brushing blood into the wig. She used a letter opener to tear into the cloth, adding blood to the sections she tore. Once she was done with that, she changed into it, put the wig on and the circlet she had picked out. She then put blood on the blade and made marks on her skin. She'd be tempted to cut herself for it but the wounds would just heal up so there wasn't much of a point. She had some fake thorns to wrap around sections of her dress, wrap around her arm.

She went barefoot, Dru said in the cartoon she was barefoot. She wouldn't have to worry about touching the ground anyway with her floating everywhere anyway. She just hoped her workers at the lounge didn't need her, which she was worried about. They were a bit short staffed and Renzo said to go ahead and go to the party.

On her way there, her phone started to ring. She rolled her eyes, pulling out the phone and answered it. "...I'll be right there." she said. She put her phone away with a sigh, looking around, she sped off to the mall and to the back where the lounge was at. Some drunk woman got up on a table and fell off, as the owner she had to go deal with it. She was irritated as she made her way in. Renzo showed her to the woman who had ice on her head.
"What the hell? Are you the owner?" the woman said.

Kira's hand twitched, "Yes I'm the owner. I was on my way to a themed party when you decided to be stupid." she said.

"What? How...dare you." the woman said, swaying a little and tried to slap Kira but Kira grabbed her wrist.

"I'm not liable for when people get drunk and do stupid things. From the smell on your breath, you had way too much to drink. Call a damn cab and get out." Kira said, using her powers to sway her as well.

"Fine.." the woman said and walked off out of the place.

Kira looked around at her servers trying to get drinks and food orders out. "What happen to all our staff?" she asked Renzo.

"There's been a flu going around. They're all sick. Those who are suppose to be dancing are having to do both that and serve." Renzo replied.

"Why didn't you say it was this bad?" Kira growled.

"I didn't want to interfere with your plans. I thought you'd be out with your guy." Renzo added.

"No, I was going alone but if we are this short staffed, I may have to call him." Kira said, "I'm going to go changed into something else." she added, heading to the backstage to her dressing room to find something to change into and wash off the fake blood.
