Opal found herself laughing. Of course the old woman had believed her right off the bat. She didn’t know why. Was it the fact that she had never met the older woman before – so she didn’t know of the woman’s loss, and so she had told her that he was alright and boom, there was an instant belief – or the fact that she already believed in spirits, in the fact that loved ones did move on – eventually. She couldn’t tell him why she believed her. You could only think about it really – not really understanding.
Opal shrugged her shoulders pulling her mug closer to her. It was half empty, half full – however you wanted to describe it. The steam was slowly dissipating, meaning it was getting cooler soon enough Opal would have to get up and get another mocha. Too much caffeine in her system today. She’ll be awake all night, not that she slept much these few nights – too many restless nights, with the thought that vampires are out there, roaming the streets – feeding off people, possibly killing people. It didn’t sit well with the blood thief.
There was a nervous laugh, Opal had nightmares about the dead sometimes.
She shook her head, a shiver going down her spine in remembrance.
- ”Yeah, I don’t know why she did, but she did though. Not much that I can say that one – perhaps her belief was strong.”

- ”I mostly hear them. I sometimes have the sight, there are times where I actually see them – but it’s very rare.”

- ”When I do see them, and I mean it’s once in a blue moon lad, they come to you in the same clothes they died in – no white robes, no halo. You even see the scars they endured before their death.”
