Condolences ((Closed))

Post by Prudence »

How many times had she written the same thing over and over again? Five, six times? Neither time getting easier than the last. But, it had to be done. He had been her childhood friend, turned instructor and then one of her mini-vamps. Andrzej was nothing, if not a traditionalist, even after the embrace and so, Prudence felt as if she owed him. If not for his beliefs, than for his family, whom she had grown up around for just over a decade.
Dear Mr. And Mrs. Plamen,

I bring you sad news. A few nights ago, your son was found dead in his trailer. The cake eaters are currently investigating his death, but all signs for now point to it being an accident. I have given them your address, which I know you'll hate. They had questions. I had no other choice.

You may believe that your son abandoned your people, but that's not true. He never abandoned me or the hope that I would one day return. I have some of his personal belongings. The ones that were salvageable after the fire was put out.

He deserves to find his way in the after life. But most of all he deserves to be mourned. He was not an deserter, but a believer. Blame me if you have to, but with or without your blessing there will be a service in a weeks time, pending the final details of the ongoing investigation.

Condolences,
Grace
Prudence wasn't good at writing, or expressing herself, but this was as good as it was going to get. She licked the envelope shut, headed out of the bar and sent the death notice to the only address she recalled them having when they weren't traveling.
