Every Thug Needs a Lady
11.02.14 | The Handle Bar | Redwood
--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

Kleopatra: descended the steps, moving from the apartment space above The Handle Bar down into the bar area itself. Minimal lighting was on- as could be expected when the place wasn't open for the day's business yet. She knew there would be one other person there, and her eyes sought him out as she came around the corner. She spied him, behind the expansive bar top, and grinned, sliding onto a stool to take a seat as if she were a paying customer. Kleo clasped her palms on the polished wood grain, and waited for him to notice her.

Mkvenner: had been making sure all the glasses were clean - well, clean enough - when he heard footsteps on the stairs. He smiled to himself, having a pretty good idea of who it would be. He gave her his best bartender smile as she sat down opposite him.

"And what can I do for you tonight, darlin'?"

Kleopatra: smirked up at the face across from hers, her index fingertip tracing abstract patterns into the counter as she pretended to ponder deeply.

"That's a dangerous question..." she teased "...but tonight I'm gonna make it easy- I think. Just have a little talk with me?"

Mkvenner: lays the glass he was currently cleaning down on the top of the bar, placing the cloth next to it. He rested his elbows on the counter with a chuckle.

"Sure thing. What's up?"

Kleopatra: "I know it's rather short notice, but I wanted to be sure I told you I won't be able to cover my evening shifts for the next few nights. Monday through Wednesday I'd say…and perhaps even tonight…My owner is coming to retrieve me..."

Mkvenner: "Yeah, no wor-... " he began before breaking off with a start, "Wait, your what now?"

As far as he was aware, following the impromptu auction Mel had arranged on opening night he was her 'owner', albeit in name only, and the arrangement was a mutual one anyway, what with them having bought each other.

Kleopatra: cringed- that's the reaction she'd been expecting. "My owner." she repeated. "As a result of the auction on Friday at Lancaster's...I was in it. I should've mentioned it to you last night, but there was so much other stuff going on..."

Mkvenner: "Oh!" he exclaimed, a mixture of surprise and mild relief, "Right, that. That woman last night, owns Lancaster's… Pie, I think her name was. Pretty sure it's a nickname.
Anyway, yeah, with you now."

He paused, flashing her a grin.

"Don't worry about last night, it was all a bit… frantic. Don't worry about your shifts neither, 'kay?"

Kleopatra: "Yeah, that sounds right! I'll have to get with her later on this week about her tattoo." Kleo wasn't surprised Ven wasn't fussing about the missed shifts- the place would still run without her, the others would make sure of it. The staff at The Handle Bar had each other's backs without question. "Alright. So the shifts are covered, which is good…but there's another reason I'm bringing this up…" she eyed him, wondering if he'd overlooked the possible issues she saw.

Mkvenner: was glad he was in the bar for this, he had a feeling that what was going to come up next would mean he'd need a drink.

"Yeah?" he asked simply, not entirely sure what else he could say.

Kleopatra: had been ready to go for it- say what she needed to, but one glance at Ven had Kleo on the verge of laughing "…Am I makin you nervous, Ven?" she asked, temporarily sidetracked.

Mkvenner: "Last time I had this sort of chat, love, someone was telling me they'd backed over my bike with their truck," he grinned, "I mean, I doubt you've done that but like... memories, or something?"

Kleopatra: shook her head. "Well, I'm definitely not gonna tell you that, so relax up! It's just...I've never done one of these slave - owner type deals...in this way." She wasn't about to go into what twisted fantasies she'd ever played out in an intimate setting, so she left it at that. "But I've heard they can get rather...interesting? And the person who has won me...I've talked to him before, so I know the kinds of things he's wanting to do with me."

She frowned. Her delivery was rather poor at the moment, she thought.

Mkvenner: took a moment to let that sink in. On the one hand, he didn't feel as though he had any real claim on Kleo, on the other he kinda wanted to. They hadn't talked about it, but they'd gotten... close... lately.

"Oh. I, er, see... " he said, not wanting to overstep.

Kleopatra: sat there, trying to read Ven, but the man was difficult. About as difficult as this conversation was proving to be, in fact. "Yeah..." her voice trailed. off. "I mean, I don't know specifics or anything...but he's given me a good gist of where his general interests are. He's only mentioned two things he especially wants out of me." She felt like she was making the situation worse. Or perhaps, more awkward. While speaking her eyes had averted from him, and noticing it now, she focused them on him again.

Mkvenner: was in over his head at this point; the entire situation was new to him. He decided he would have that drink after all and offered the bottle to Kleo, too. After a stiff drink he tried to think of something to say. He decided to go with honesty.

"Look, I have no idea what I'm supposed to say at this point. Am I happy about it? Not entirely, no. But... you're your own person, love. Like we talked about. You put yourself up for auction, I'm not about to stand in your way"

Kleopatra: took the bottle from Ven, more so for something to do with her hands than true desire to drink. She watched as he poured, then indulged in the beverage. When he began to speak she noticed her body had tensed, and consciously relaxed. The things he said were reiteration of topics already discussed. That was one of the things she liked so much about him- that they could sit back, relax, and enjoy each other's company by doing nothing more than talking, on and on. "That's fair." she agreed. "I'm not bringing this up to...make things awkward, or otherwise pressure you, but it felt like I'd be hiding something from you if I just went off knowing good and well the conversations I've had with the man before, ya know what I mean?" Kleo paused, chewing her lower lip softly.

"...And I like that you're not entirely happy." A smile threatened to show itself.

Mkvenner: saw she'd grown a little tense and reached across the bar, giving her arm a gentle rub, looking to reassure her somehow.

"Didn't think you were, love. I like that you came to talk, actually. I mean, like I say... not thrilled at the prospect, but I respect the choice you made, both being auctioned and coming down here.

He grinned at her, mischievously, and gave her a wink.

"Yeah? C'mon, that smile's weak. You can do better than that, love."

Kleopatra: was put at ease by his touch, and moved a hand toward his, grazing it lightly before letting it fall aside. His encouragement made her laugh, which in turn caused the smile on her face to touch her eyes.

"Is this what you wanted?" she teased him. "And I'm glad I came, too…otherwise, it would've bothered me. You make it easy, really. I guess I'm just trying to say that I've been having a nice time with you...and that I respect..." she tried to find a word other than 'us' "...what we've got going. So yeah." She was sure he could fill in the rest.

Mkvenner: chuckled, "Yeah, much better, sweetheart."

His own smile grew a little wider as she spoke, faintly amused at her awkwardness but mostly he was touched by what she was saying.

"I... " he began, "Yeah, I like it too. I've been having a good time too, chatting and stuff."

He paused again, also not entirely sure what it was they've 'got going', but able to guess at what it was she meant.

"Yeah," he grinned, his eyes flicking away from her momentarily, "I know what you mean."

Kleopatra: pressed a fist to her mouth- it was the only way she could keep from dissolving into a fit right in front of him. The awkwardness of the conversation was damn near tangible, but she still wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm glad we've decided that I like you, and you like me." she smirked, the fist becoming an open hand which she rested on the bar. "Lee's coming to pick me up tonight, here at the bar. I don't really know how much freedom I'm gonna have? But if I get time to spare I'll send a message or something your way...it's so ******* weird to be having this discussion."

Mkvenner: laughed, "Oh yeah, I'm right there with you on this one. Off the charts weird. But yeah. It's good we had this talk, I think. On a couple of levels. Wouldn't want to come charging in to defend your honour and be not needed. It'd be really awkward, that."

He grinned cheekily.

Kleopatra: snorted back a laugh, and reached across the bar as if to swat him but found he was out of range. "Uh huh! But still, I think the sentiment is sweet. I'd like to see you come charging in…on those strong legs of yours." she whistled innocently.

Mkvenner: "You'd have to give me a few hours' notice for the next few days, love. You did quite a number on one of my 'strong legs' the other day. Also my back."

He paused.

"And my ribs. You did stitch my arm up, though. So there's that," he laughed.

Kleopatra: "Ya know, if someone were just walking by…that would sound pretty compromising." She grinned. "Sorry darlin'. I can get a bit carried away when I'm goin at it barehanded."

...she blinked. Then blinked again.

"But yes! I did stitch up your arm, we can't forget that. My handiwork is beautiful." She beamed at him. "Hopefully you'll be healed by the time I come back…we've got some slave nights of our own, yeah?"

Mkvenner: "Yeah," he laughed, "There's no way someone just walking by could take any of that the wrong way, now, is there?"

He grinned, refilling his glass and offering the bottle to her once again.

"You do make a good point though. We bought each other, so technically we got to sort out... so many things. Me? I'm of the 'ladies first' position, but that one could go either way too... "

Kleopatra: "Not a chance in hell!" she fired back immediately, with a smirk. She waved a hand, turning down the drink he had, but requested what she craved. "Do we some AV on hand? If you get it out, I'll even pour it myself." She winked, and slipped down off her stool, ready come 'round behind the bar.

"...It really could go either way. The lady being controlled first, or the lady doing the controlling...decisions decisions, how ever will we choose?" She was teasing again.

Mkvenner: "Sure we've got some round here, somewhere... Thingy, girl as owns the place, she dropped off crates of the stuff," he had a quick rummage, "Yeah, here we are."

He handed the bottle to Kleo as she came around the bar and turned to grab her a fresh glass.

"Rock paper scissors?"

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

Kleopatra: "Awesome!" Kleo let herself behind the bar, and took the bottle Ven was pressing into her hand. She popped it open and waited patiently for the glass she saw him reaching for. "We could do rock, paper, scissors...flip a coin. I'm open." She smirked.

Mkvenner: slid her the glass with a wink.

"I'm good with whatever, to be honest. I mean, either way I still get a turn."

He broke off suddenly, thinking.

"Actually, you know what, I have a better idea. I'll be the slave first. Don't worry about it. I'm totally okay with it. Mind's made up"

His grin got wider.

Kleopatra: caught the glass, stopping it in its tracks as it went across bar with ease. She filled the glass halfway, before re-corking the bottle and handing it off to Ven. "Yeah, I don't mind either way, real--" She stopped mid-phrase as he cut in. "Well that was a sudden, certain change…what happened in the last ten seconds?" She found his grin suspicious, and stepped closer to him, her face inches from his as she stared him down. "You must have something in mind..."

Mkvenner: "Oh nothing, nothing," he grinned, "I just feel very strongly about the whole ladies first thing, y'know? Wouldn't want to be un-chivalrous, sweetheart."

Kleopatra: wasn't buying it. She raised the glass to her lips and took a long sip, peering at him over the rim. "Uh huh" she said, swallowing. "For some reason, I'm not believing that this time..." Her mouth twitched- she was fighting the smile. "But is that the story you're gonna stick to?" Lowering the glass, the tip of her tongue swiped over her lips, collecting the residual blood.

Mkvenner: "Oh entirely," he laughed, "That's the story, I ain't changing it."

He could see that she wasn't buying his story but seemed to be good with going along with it, the smile she was fighting was testament to that.

Kleopatra: "Mkay. It'll all come out, eventually. All's I gotta do is be patient. So you remember that!" A hazel iris disappeared momentarily as she winked at him, then drained her glass. "That was delicious..." she said, a hand instinctively reaching for the hem of Ven's shirt as she stretched to set down her glass on the back counter with the other.

Mkvenner: chuckled, returning the wink.

"You did say you wanted to learn how to be more patient from me. Guess we could call this lesson one, eh?"

He smiled as her motion brought her closer to him and he felt the hem of his shirt tug, running a hand of his own down her arm.

"Glad you enjoyed it, love. Fresh bottle and everything."

Kleopatra: rolled her eyes, in a non rude manner. "I knew that'd come back to bite me in the ***." she stated matter of fact, although there were no hard feelings.

Having successfully nudged the glass onto the counter without breaking it, she stood upright and found herself much closer to him than she'd been before, and his hand against her skin. She grinned, pressing a faint kiss against his jaw. "Yup. I've enjoyed everything here, really. And speaking of fresh bottles...how's the inventory doing after the party- still got everything we need on hand?"

Mkvenner: groaned slightly, "Honestly, I've not even looked yet. I've been putting that one off for as long as, pardon the pun, humanly possible. Given how many people we had in last night, I'm guessing the damage is fairly pronounced."

He grinned, then, drawing her a little closer for a loose hug.

"For now though, yeah, pretty sure I got everything I need to hand, love."

Kleopatra: laughed at that sound. Inventory was always a ***** to do. "Mm, I know it sucks...I can help if you'd like? It would be great if we could get some exact numbers so we know what to do if we do it again. Wouldn't have to think about it, just use the numbers to forecast..." She closed her mouth- there she went. She knew a little bit about business- controlling costs, anyway.

Kleo's arms went around his waist gently, her head tipped back just enough to allow her to look him in the face. "I think I should say 'awww'...awww" She grinned mischievously.

Mkvenner: "See, this is why I was hoping to 'win' Blinky as well last night. I could have told her to do all this stuff. I mean, I still could, but she'd tell me to **** off this way."

He raised an eyebrow when she stopped speaking.

"No, no. Go on. Sounded like some good ideas right there. And don't you 'aww' me! Granted, I was trying to be sweet and that's possible 'aww'-worthy, but even so. I'm a gruff biker. We don't get 'aww'ed at."

He smiled lightly, showing he wasn't being entirely serious.

Kleopatra: smirked. "Yeah, she might. Could try, though! If we had some music goin and made it seem like not-work..." she joked. "I didn't have much more to say. Just that keeping historical logs of costs would be to our benefit...it's good to know if business booms, or if it slows down on Halloween, for example. Do we need to order extra for that Holiday blah blah blah, you get me? Are there annual city events that might cause a rise or fall in our sales…from there you could also plan staffing accordingly. Everyone ain't gotta be on hand if it's gonna be a slow day." She felt weird being so vocal about business running methods. "And err...I like drink specials? We could come up with some of those…put nice biker inspired names on 'em…people like deals…And I call ********! Bikers do so get aww'ed at. But, if it messes with your macho I'll save it for private?…And what about oooh and ahhh. Do bikers not get those, either?" She kept a straight face. Somehow.

Mkvenner: 's eyes took on a slightly... vacant look as Kleo explained about how to keep track of various costs and how to make the most of holidays. He'd been speaking truth when he said that they were good ideas - they still were - he just found himself slipping in and out of concentration. His mind, in keeping with his gender, latched onto the last thing she had said and ran with it. "Yes! Drink specials. We should have some of them. You're right on the whole people liking deals thing, too. I'm pretty sure that's why so many came in last night, me saying the first drink was free. You get everyone that way."

He chuckled as the subject changed.

"Ooh and ahh are acceptable though. They're much better than aww."

He nodded seriously.

Kleopatra: could tell when she was losing him. Hell, talking about costs and things of that nature tended to be boring in general. "Yup. I saw that! We could have happy hour deals drawn up. I could even do it, if no one's planning to…" she smiled. "I thought you'd say that...I have to agree...the oohs and aahs...I'm sure you get those plenty..." she teased, nuzzling into his cheek.

Mkvenner: "Yes! Happy hour. Every good pub has one of them. Wouldn't be right not to, really."

He paused, trying to work out how best to answer that particular phrase.

"Now that'd be telling, love," he settled on

Kleopatra: "Nope, wouldn't be right at all...I'll come up with some ideas on that for ya soon." She smirked when he politely declined to divulge discussing that part of his personal life. "It would be...and I'm only teasing, so I'm not really expecting you to go there with me." And she didn't. She wasn't the type to get caught up with numbers anyway. "What do you plan on doing the rest of today? I feel like I'm gonna go crazy if I don't..." She couldn't think of a good way to say maim. Kill. Destroy. "...kick some ***."

Mkvenner: "Sweet as. I look forward to seeing what you come up with, love."

He kinda just... stared at her last comment. He was still feeling the effects of their last little 'outing'. But hey. He'd had fun.

"Yeah? Well, I don't have any real plans for the rest of the day. Or the week, to be honest. Do your worst, sweetheart."

Kleopatra: beamed. "Hopefully I don't disappoint!" Her head canted to the side as he stared at her. "...I don't mean your ***! Sorry. I just meant I'm craving some runs through the sewers, or taking my *** down that shaft." Wait. What. "...You didn't hear that. Let's talk more about how you need plans…"

Mkvenner: laughs, "Well, we could do that too, if you want?"

Hears it.

"... oh god."

Kleopatra: stared. Her eyelashes fluttered as she blinked rapidly several times. "We can go down the mineshaft, or..." She enjoyed making these awkward moments even more so. "Why're you saying 'oh god'? I haven't done anything yet." And another blink.

Mkvenner: stared back. She knew what she was doing. She knew exactly what she was doing. He could tell, he could see it in her eyes. He tried not to smile, but it was a strain on his willpower. He had to do something, so he settled for:

"... yet?"

Kleopatra: "Yet." she repeated. "Unless of course that's not an area you wish to explore. In that case, we can think of someting else, no?" She spoke casually, as if she really were just talking about caverns…of the rock and gem variety. "I'm being evil, aren't I…" She laughed.

Mkvenner: "Nah, I got nothing against the sewers. And there's an entrance right by here," he grinned, "Got to be careful, what with my leg and all. Might need help down the ladder or whatever, but it's probably better than a mineshaft. And yes. Yes you are."

Kleopatra: laughed loudly, her nails digging into him as her reflex was to hold onto him tighter. She shook her head. "Alright alright, I can't take any more of that...I'll try to be good now?" her mouth lifted into a half grin.

Mkvenner: grins, "Aww, you poor thing. But yeah, we can try to be good for now if you'd like. Let's see, where were we before you distracted me with the whole being you thing?"

Kleopatra: "Talkin about drinks maybe?" she offered. "Or maybe, we were saying how we've been here at the bar all weekend, and we should get out for a little while?" She knew they hadn't said that at all, but she'd been slick and added it in.

Mkvenner: nodded with a smile, "Pretty sure we were talking about how we should go for a walk, love. Well, a limp in my case but the principle holds true. Besides, people always used to tell me I needed to go get some fresh air."

Kleopatra: Leaned in close to his ear. "The people were right." she said, and laughed gently. "A walk sounds great, though. I'm gonna go get changed before we head out? I think it'd be rather suspicious for me to be outside in this when it's so cold." She began disentangling herself from him.

Mkvenner: "Deal," he grinned, "I'll be waiting."

Kleopatra: pressed a swift kiss to his cheek and headed for the stairs. "I won't keep you waiting long!" she called out as she made her ascent.

11.06.14 | Stock Room - The Handle Bar | Redwood
--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

Mkvenner: There was a lull in the night's activity in the Bar, and Ven found himself freed up for the first time. He spotted Kleo heading towards the back room and, dropping his cloth on the bar, moved to follow her. He wasn't sure what he was going to say, only that he wanted, needed, to say something. They'd met recently, grown close, seemed to enjoy spending time for each other. But... he was her boss. The last thing he wanted was to be unseemly. Closing the door behind him, he hugged her gently from behind, smiling. "Hey," he said.

Kleopatra: was in need of napkins. It seemed no matter how often she filled up the holders, they couldn't keep a single one in the place. Sliding her key into the keyhole, Kleo unlocked the stock room door and let herself in. Feeling along the wall just inside, she caught hold of, and flicked the switch, illuminating the space. She'd hardly taken two full steps inside when she felt pressure at her middle and heard a voice against her ear. Her lips lifted, forming a smile as her hands moved to rest softly atop his. "Hey to you too..." she replied.

Mkvenner: wasn't entirely sure how, exactly, to start the talk he wanted to have. It wasn't really that he was worried about her reaction - he was fairly sure that she felt a similar way about him - it was more the look inside his head. He tried to think of a clever way to start off, something funny perhaps. All that came out was: "So... about us?" So far, the plan was rapidly going out the window.

Kleopatra: 'Her mind was abuzz. The word 'us' had set her off. She had to intentionally reel herself in, back to the the present. "...What about us?" she asked casually, as if they had conversations like this all the time. Her fingers curled softly into the back of his palms

Mkvenner: "Well," he began, "Ah... I don't really know what to say, y'know? It's a tricky one. But like... we've been spending a lot of time together. And I like it. You might have noticed. Er." He shrugged a bit, a little way out of his comfort zone, "Wanted you to know, is all, I guess. Erm."

Kleopatra: nodded slowly. "Only a fool wouldn't notice...and hopefully I've been just as transparent to you?" she thought for a moment, flashes from their days and nights together bombarding her. She pushed them away. "...and honestly, you've told me countless times how you feel about me, through your actions. I've heard you loud and clear."

Mkvenner: grins, resting his chin on her shoulder, "Good points all, love." He wondered how to phrase his next thought. Should he be witty? Should he just come right out with it? Would it make things awkward? Would she get uncomfortable? "So, uh," he began, "I guess what I'm trying to ask is are we a we, or a me and you?"

Kleopatra: shifted a hand to Ven's nape, her fingertips toying with the hairs there. She listened closely as he stumbled over his words, and was glad her back was to him so he couldn't see the amused expression on her face. "Well. I can't make that decision entirely." she began, taking a pause. "I mean...I can tell you where I stand, but I don't want that to influence you, ya know? I'm at a place where I'd be comfortable...and enjoy seeing you, and no one else." She fell silent.

Mkvenner: nodded as she spoke. She was clearly better at this sort of thing than he was, and he felt himself wondering why he hadn't just asked her what she thought about the whole thing. He smiled, "In fairness, love, pretty safe to say you've influenced me. But, yeah... joking aside, I'm with you. Didn't see something like this coming, but it has and I like it, y'know?"

Kleopatra: laughed a little at that. "I've influenced you, huh? Should I even dare ask how?" she had several guesses, but kept them so herself. "You're with me? I like how that sounds...and yeah, I really do get it. I..." she snapped her mouth closed, second guessing what she'd been about to say.

Mkvenner: grinned, pressing a kiss to her cheek, "Glad to hear it, love. Would've been even more awkward for me otherwise." The chat was going well, as far as he could tell, and it could not be argued that that wasn't a good thing. He'd been a little apprehensive going in, worried how she might take it. He was starting to think that he shouldn't have been. He smiled, "You're what, love?"

Kleopatra: frowned some, unsure how to tread the territory she was on the verge of entering into a discussion about...her past. She decided to keep it vague. "I didn't see it comin either. And if I'm bein completely honest, I wasn't too open to the idea of bein in a relationship, with commitment and all that kinda stuff..."

Mkvenner: chuckles, giving her a gentle squeeze, "On the plus side for me, 'wasn't' hints that that's changed. From time to time I kinda love the whole tenses thing." He paused, "Not that I'm making light of all this or anything. I deal with nerves by making jokes."

--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--

Kleopatra: turned her head , as if trying to look back at him. "Ain't any reason to have nerves babe. You've already survived my bite, so what else can there be?" she teased. "And you're correct...my mindset has shifted. Commitment and all that stuff is still scary as **** for me...but I think you're worth takin the chance on"

Mkvenner: grinned, giving her a little spin so she could face him, "You make a good point, love. And I've already accidentally shot you. Which, as first impressions go... hard to get much worse, really," he laughed. He felt kinda honoured as she continued. After all, it's not every day someone says they're getting over a fear for you. He smiled, hugging her a little closer to him. "Thanks, love. I can but try."

Kleopatra: Her arms reached out toward him in order to help steady her balance. "I'd almost forgotten about that...almost." she said tersely, recalling his botched robbery attempt. "We started off with a bang and haven't looked back since, I guess." ...****. That didn't sound right at all. "Errr..you know what I mean...pun..." She shook her head.

Mkvenner: couldn't help but chuckle, hugging her closer as she grew a little flustered, "Yeah, I know what you mean, love. You mean I need more practice. It's okay. You can just say it." She was right, though. Since then, the two of them had barely spent a moment out of the other's company and yet, he was most certainly not tired of her. He hoped the same was true of her, and judging by how she was around him it was a fair bet that it was.

Kleopatra: shook her head. "Nah, just watch where you aim next time. Ain't the first time someone discharged their weapon on accident around m-" she groaned lightly. It seemed everything she said was questionable. She pressed on. "You're fine, really. Don't worry about it." The wound had healed that same night, and had gotten them really talking. As far as she was concerned, it'd been a great icebreaker. Perhaps not the most masquerade friendly, considering the setting they'd been in, but still, an icebreaker nonetheless.

Mkvenner: gives Kleo a well practiced deadpan expression as she spoke, trying not to laugh and hoping to make her at least chuckle with his reaction. He winked at her, "I see how it is. You don't want me going looking for your cash. You wound me, madam. You wound me deeply."

Kleopatra: grinned wide. "Whatever! I don't mind you looking...I hardly carry any on me anyway." Her neck extended as she sought a kiss from the man. For the most part, she tried to keep the outright displays of affection to a minimum while on the clock, but being alone with him, as she was now made it too hard to resist.

Mkvenner: chuckled, meeting her for a quick kiss, "Oh, I know love. Believe me. Only got nine bucks off you earlier. I'll have to work harder for it next time, or something. Brace yourself, if you're able. Man on a mission, me." It was entertaining, to him, that such a mistake had led to, well... this. He'd been expecting at least a slap, maybe straight up outrage. Instead he'd got a cut on his upper arm that she'd then stitched up for him, and... this. Worked out well, on reflection.

Kleopatra: dipped in to steal another small kiss after he drew back. "Yeah. You do that, and I'll keep doing what I'm doing. I've got to make make extra money somehow since someone doesn't wanna give it willingly." she teased him about her pay. Really, it was more than sufficient and she had no real complaints. "But babe...as nice and necessary as this little talk was...the people need their napkins, if for nothing else than making my job easier at the end of the night." she winked.

Mkvenner: laughs, "Hey now! I pay pretty well. And besides, you get perks the others don't." He poked his tongue out a little way cheekily. "But yeah, might be an idea. Don't want the crew sending out a search party for us or whatever. And at least one of us should probably be responsible."

Kleopatra: 's lips twitched as she tried to keep a neutral expression. "You do pay me well and...I'm not even gonna dignify that statement with a response!" She said jokingly. She couldn't argue with him there. She wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug, drew back then pulled a box of napkins from the shelf behind her. Headed for the door, she turned and said "I'll come by the bar in a few once I've taken care of things on the floor."

Mkvenner: grins, "I'll hold you to that, love. See you in a few."

Kleopatra: nodded. "Yep!" she exclaimed, then disappeared.
