There will be times when a dice roll is required. Please make the setting public when you do these dice rolls. I'll tell you when dice rolls are required in an ooc note with Mari's posts.
Mari stood in the large room, and looked around it. As she did this, a hand moved to each one of her ears, removing the large, gold, chunky hoop earrings from each hole in both ears. With them out of the way, and tossed on top of her workout bag, Mari’s hands moved to her honey colored hair. She didn’t take the time to straighten it tonight, so it was in its natural state of big, wild and somewhat frizzy curls. Until the rubber band around her left wrist was used to secure the hair in a quick, sloppy ponytail.

Marjani circled the room, looking for anything that might be on the wood floor. She didn’t want to give someone a bad experience. Not with something that meant the world to her. When her eyes didn’t pick up anything other than the wood floor, she smiled. The cleaners had done their typical job over the weekend and hadn’t skimped. Not since her boss, Krystal, called and bitched them out for the horrible job they did a couple weekends ago.

“Oh, heya Marji.” Chocolate eyes looked up from the floor to see Krystal coming in. Their partnership was a unique one; Krystal a retired ballroom dancer and Mari offering something slightly different than her other employees, the dance studio hadn’t had any financial worries for about three years now. The classes were so vast and varied between Mari’s classes, the one Krystal taught, Estaban’s and Sofia, they had just about every dance that was semi-known cornered and being taught.

On Mari’s nights, Krystal was the voice, while Mari the muse. Notes were made out weeks prior to any classes so if Krystal had questions she could ask Mari to elaborate. “Big crowd tonight?” Mari just smiled and let her shoulders raise and drop. “You sure you want this room and not the big one with mirrors on all four sides?” A slow shake of her head let Krystal know that Mari was happy with her choice.

“I’m going to go set the music over the PA system.” Krystal was gone, walking out of the room and heading back to the front of the dance studio. If anyone came in, she would give them quick instructions on how to find the room Mari was using. To the back and second one on the left, as Krystal kept working on finding the cd Mari picked for the night and turning on the system.

Mari took the time to start a simple warm up activity as Pitbull’s Fireball came on a bit too loud, then was lowered a few seconds later. As she moved, her fingers grabbed at the camouflage hip hop dance pants in certain areas on the print to allow her hips to roll, knees to bend and legs to move as she needed them. The pants seemed to disappear in the top of her black high tops, but they were spacious enough to allow Mari full extension of her legs. As the dance went on, she would unzip the thin, black track top to expose her workout bra, just a little. It wasn’t to expose what she did or didn’t have, but to free up her range of motion with her arms as she warmed them up too.

She didn’t care who came in while she warmed up, she wasn’t shy. Not about this part of her life. Though some might mistake her to be that with her lack of words on the vocal front. If they came in while she was warming up, Mari would wave to them as her arms moved around in various dance moves; one hand closing, fingers brushing her palms as the woman danced until the song ended. Hopefully, the first person to show up was Nishaa because the woman was playing a big part in tonight's get together too.

“Can we hurry this along? I have somewhere to be.”

Any person with a weaker spine would have instantly regretted their words when four sets of eyes set in steel glares turned towards her simultaneously. “Excuse me? Where do you have to be that’s more important than this?” Detective Ramirez demanded, his voice low like rumbling thunder. It rocked through her and caused her spine to straighten as she raised a brow. The two men on either side of him stepped back the moment they saw the determination in her eyes. The detective was new – the two assistants weren’t. They knew her limits, especially when it came to her patience. “It’s not a concern to you, Detective, but what good am I here? You’re just wanting to show off your prowess and honestly, I don’t give a damn how many cases you’ve solved. My job is already underway. Unless you uncover another body, you’ll just have to excuse me.”

Her no-nonsense tone had the older male snarling, his fingers curling to press into his palms. The vein in his temple pulsed and for a moment, she found humor in the situation. How could she not when he was mimicking the perfect cartoon character? Any second now and she was certain steam would be coming out of his ears. “Now, you listen here, you no good piece of ***. I’ve worked cases long before you were born. I don’t take crap from some inked woman with daddy issues.” His voice had begun to rise as turned on her, one meaty finger slamming into the center of her chest. It was another time her vampire strength surprised her. As a human, she was certain her chest would have concaved from the force. Now the pressure meant very little to her. “Ramirez, don’t. Just let her go.” Michael piped up, his nervous eyes widening as he rested a restraining hand on the detective’s bicep. He was worried for her safety, she realized, amusement flooding her.

“Are you done?”

The question was asked with a quiet tone, and the ice in it had the detective backing up a step. “I—“ Before he could speak, Rion held up a hand, her eyes narrowing. “I will see you tomorrow. I suggest getting yourself an attitude check before I lay you out in front of your boys.” Shaking her head, pivoted on her heel and walked out of the office, the door quietly shutting behind her. She wasn’t one for theatrics, though it seemed the detective didn’t have the same thought. She’d barely made it to the elevator before the thunderous boom of the door slamming shook her to the core. His obscenities followed her into the lift and only became a little bit muffled as she pressed the button for the ground floor. “Idiot,” she muttered once the door had shut, her head bowing. She had to get her **** together before she made it to Mari’s event. It was going to be hard enough for her being in a crowd of people, the last thing she needed was to be in a mood to where her temper would flare at any given second.

It didn’t take her long to get to her car and to the building. She was too independent to ask for directions herself, so she had spent most of the morning making sure she had everything she needed and the directions printed out before she left. She had put her clothes on beneath her lab coat – black mini-skirt, knee high leather boots and a black t-shirt that read ‘Sinner’ against her chest in white. Her hair was pulled up in pig tails, the blue curls falling in front of her eyes as she bent down to slide the crimson lipstick over her full lips and made sure that the thick eye-liner was in place. She wasn’t one to care about looks. If she were, she’d have done a lot more than she did. Tossing her coat on the driver’s seat, she slammed the car door shut and locked it before hooking the car key to her chain necklace.

“You got this,” she muttered, her arms crossing over her chest. With a quiet, resigned sigh, the Necromancer slid in through the front door and frowned. “Mari?” She called out quietly, teeth chewing on the inside of her lip. It wasn’t what she had expected, but perhaps she was earlier than she thought. If Osiris wasn’t there, she had to be. He usually beat her anywhere, just to get away from his girlfriend. The music wasn’t something she particularly liked, but she wouldn’t complain. Anything that was loud enough to drown out her own thoughts was something she could use as an excuse if any uncomfortable conversations came up. She just had to make it through one night. That was all.

She could do it.
Hopefully.

She had told Marjani she would be there. She had practically promised the woman, she was so vibrant, so full of life – even in death. It was different to what she was used too. She had two children now, one was morbid, dark, a monster much like herself the other was so vibrant an assortment of colours. Nishaa didn’t know how to handle her; she was like a hot potato. So she walked slowly through the streets of Harper Rock. She had left the Eyrie – using Micah’s hut for how own vanity needs. (Which really consisted of a wardrobe chucked all over the floor.) Tonight she wore pipe jeans, and a my little pony tee shirt which was quite astonishingly pink for Nishaa, and to anyone that knew her – would know she was not girly.

But, she liked she tee, it was one of her favourites she had a lot of maiming memories in it. If she remembered rightly she wore it the night she killed her first vampire, with Tytonidae. She smiled fondly in thought, her fangs on show, they would never go away. They were stuck like that – and she had long since then gotten over it, she couldn’t get rid of them – there was no use in fighting it. Phoenix had told her she wasn’t the only one with this condition and it had calmed her. There was no need to be so paranoid anymore.

It was a short walk to the studio Marji had asked her to be at, she felt obligated to go – this was her childe’s gathering, she wanted to be there for her – plus it was Andras orientated. She was comfortable with her, hooked over her shoulder was a paintball gun. She had been asked to bring this bad boy. (she called it Charlie) to the studio, she was told it would be needed, Nishaa had agreed and grabbed it. So as she pushed opened the doors to the studio she peered inside.

Onyx orbs alert as she dropped the gun to the wooden flooring, dragging the barrel along it. Until she reached Marji, as she was warming up – there was another already here, but she didn’t recognise her . She nodded to the woman, with a smile – assuming she was family. She felt like family to her – kin.

“Mari-jane.”

She teased.

Mari looked up at the mention of the shortened version of her name that she told people in Andras to use for her. A hand shot up in the air as she nodded, then the woman waved Rion over as she grabbed a foot and worked it behind her back, stretching out the muscles in her leg. Mari wasn't sure who this was-but she was glad people were slowly trickling their way in.

The song changed to "This is how we do," by Katy Perry for a brief second, before the sound system was shut off. Either Krystal was having some real problems, or she finally got it all sorted out. Mari believed the latter of the two thoughts that fleeted through her mind.

Rion's inquiry would be answered when Nishaa came in, gun strapped on her back and said Mari-Jane. Mari gave Nishaa a look that said, "It was just the one time." But then her lips cracked into a wide smile as she waved Nishaa over, then decided to meet her half way and wrap her arms around Nishaa's neck and give her a quick hug.

The women were perhaps the closest thing to polar opposites, but that didn't stop Mari from giving the woman a welcomed hug. Nishaa always had her back, even from the beginning. The night she sired Mari. And she showed that fact when Nish showed up with the paintball gun. A slightly wicked look formed on Mari's features as she walked around Nishaa and gave the gun a little poke. The two had thought up the plan not long after Mari announced the event in the Andras board. When Mari came around Nishaa, she looked from woman to woman, then focused on the unknown one. She had to be family because Nishaa hadn't asked her what she was doing here with a few colorful words attached to the question. Mari waited for a quick introduction from one of them before her eyes wandered to the door.

She checked her appearance once more before grabbing her jacket and heading to the nearest fadeportal, stepping through before she began walking in the direction of her grandchilde's dance studio. It was still odd, having two now, Nishaa spawning after once saying she never wanted to. In some ways, Every found it amusing. Abi's reaction had reminded the brunette of Nishaa's initial dislike about having siblings - even in all fairness she had one previously before he had left and his scent could no longer be traced. Death outside the city. That was what she assumed. But, she was proud of her childe and the growth that had happened over the year.

Stuffing her hands into the pockets of her hooded sweatshirt, Every whistled quietly to the tune of Akon's Sexy ***** with each step she took. Dancing had been a part of her life that she didn't share with many. Helena, Phoenix, Zoey, Lia. She liked clubs, the atmosphere and music that played out through the speakers and the ability to escape in relaxation. Next to running, it was a way she got away from her thoughts every now and then. For the night, she had chosen a pair of her old cargo pants: they sat low on her hips and were olive green, a bit baggy so she had used a belt to keep them up. Her crop top was light blue and something she used to often dance in. Her hair, now falling to rest at the bottom of her shoulder blades, had been straightened and pulled into a high ponytail.

After a while, she made her way to the studio and noticed Nishaa, looking at the other two females in the room with a curious expression as she studied them. Every knew a lot of the Andras members, she'd been there from the beginning when the name changed and when there were only a handful of individuals. Expanding it was a good thing, she was happy and content. "As you are by my childe," Her hazel eyes studied the darker skinned female, "I hope its safe to assume you're our hostess for the evening and my grandchilde, Marjani." Her smile was warm as she moved to squeeze Nishaa in a hug before stepping back. Looking over to the other female, she squinted curiously. "And I think you are either... Angel," She paused as she thought about the recent members of the family, about her new siblings, "Osiris is male, so Rion?"
