Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
It had been far too long since Quinn had seen or heard from Gwynn and Fionn. FAR too long. However, Dairinn had lost her job and Aoife was now at college on a part scholarship and that was expensive. There were always more and more bills to pay, and less and less work and money coming in. He did all he could as a labourer on any land or building site, having lost his own company in the recession. So where he'd once been more than comfortable, they were all now struggling just to make ends meet. It had meant that while he'd done all he could from afar - contacting the police and sending letters to the university and clubs and bars - no sign of either of his children had been found and it had stressed him and the family out. He'd heard about facebook and the internet, and he'd gone to the local library to investigate it and see if he could utilise it. However after an hour, he'd completely given up on it, because he had no idea to make it work or get what he wanted out of the machine, because it was all just far too confusing to him and he was too proud and ashamed to ask anyone for help.
So for months and months now he'd been scrimping and saving, setting a couple of dollars aside each week and taking on any job he possibly could. Dairinn had been doing the same and the two of them were run ragged, completely exhausted and because of that - they were sniping at one another. Apologies always came soon after, but it was certainly taking it's toll on their marriage and mental sanity - not to mention the worry and stress that was on them both regarding their two eldest children. Whenever Aoife visited or called, they put on a good front and made out all was well, because she kept offering to drop out of college, to get a job and to help with bills. She knew the financial strain it was putting on her parents, and she too was worried about her siblings - but her father insisted she was to get a degree and do something good with her life.
He'd never wanted her to go off with that group of girls and their rock music. He'd felt it in his waters that something wasn't right, that something bad would happen if he'd let her go. But Gwynn and Dairinn had insisted and finally persuaded him that all would be ok and that she'd be safe and keep in contact. Well, he'd been proved right hadn't he! Much to his horror. And his boy, his beautiful son. He'd gone off to find her and he too had vanished into that city and hadn't been heard from since.
However, the day had come that they'd been working towards for months. Dairinn had a job which was guaranteed for a couple of months, and it was good money. So bills would still be able to be paid. The money they'd been squirreling away had finally amounted to the target amount, and some had been spent on a bus ticket and passport. His bags were packed, hugs had been given, words had been shared and love expressed. Then, with his bag slung over his back, a final kiss for his wife, he was off to catch the bus that would take him all the way to Harper Rock, his home for the next 3 days or more depending on traffic and staff changes.
The big man climbed onto the bus when it finally arrived, and had a small smile to himself as he saw everyone look away and hope he didn't choose to sit beside them. The bus wasn't busy though, and he found two empty seats beside one another and bent and slid and contorted his way into the one by the window. So long as the bus continued to be this empty, or even a little busier, he knew the seat beside him would remain empty. Being a 6', wide, muscled, bald headed guy had it's advantages in some situations, where people would go out of their way to ignore him and avoid him. He was the sweetest, softest man though - if you weren't a threat to him or his family. But god help you if you threatened one of his own, and he could feel that knot in his stomach winding him tight as he feared the worst for his children.
The bus journey passed without incident, and as he'd thought he'd had the two seats to himself for the entire time. It had been long, exhausting and hot. None of the windows opned and he could have sworn that the heating was on as opposed to the air con. However, he'd arrived in the city and was currently nosing around in the information centre, picking up leaflets and adverts and asking for information on cheap accomodation. There were a few suggestions, but a lot of them were out of town, on the outskirts. Ideally, he wanted to be slap bang in the centre so that if he got a call or a lead, he would be able to jump right on it without any sort of delay. Thanking the woman, he left and made his way to a not so nice area of the town - but again he knew that his size and appearance would put most people off from disturbing him - and booked himself into a dive of a hotel, that was pushing it describing itself as a hotel! Dumping his stuff on the bed, he dragged out a clean set of clothes and then headed straight for the shower. Over 3 days on a hot bus and he wasn't smelling or feeling the freshest. However, needs must and it was the cheapest way to get here. And after the months of nothing from Gwynn and Fionn - he was hardly going to have stopped along the way as he'd needed to get here as fast as possible.
2 hours later, he was out on the street and looking at one of the maps he'd picked up, heading for the police department. He had a few choice words for these people who'd done not a whole hell of a lot with his phone calls over the last few months. That was for sure. And he couldn't help it. Evey single face he passed on the street was looked into. Every flash of red was studied. Just in case they were there, on the street, and he'd miss them by not looking. This was it. This was his chance. He needed to find Gwynn and brother. He needed to take home some good news for Dairinn's sake, as well as his own. They needed a break after all they'd been through!

Re: Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
"Mom, I have to go...mom, I'm going to be late for my plane." Jarrett signed to his mother who kept hugging him and pulling him down to her level to kiss his cheek.
Jeannette let her son go, letting out a sob. "I hate every time you go." she signed back, "Make sure to eat and take care of yourself."
Jarrett nodded, "I will.." he kissed her cheek and headed out the door with Noir. He sighed, if eating was so simple now. He may not look all that great right now because he hadn't been feeding, the sun made him feel weaker. Vampires didn't die just because of that, right? Getting blood while he was traveling wasn't an easy thing unlike Harper Rock.
He had finished up one case, did his training for the FBI so now it was back to Harper Rock to check on things. He lost track of how many texts he had gotten from Catherine and Kira, he never replied with much other than he was alright and he'd be in town soonish.
He boarded the plane, Noir stayed by his feet or put his head on his lap so that Jarrett would absentmindedly pet him as he drifted off to sleep.
"Agent Ajax, we've landed." he heard, shaken gently awake by a flight attendant. He been here so much that any regular worker knew him.
Jarrett rubbed his eyes, "Thanks.." he said, getting up with his carry on and headed off the plane, Noir walking beside him. Once in town, he went straight to a shop for blood bags. "Need like 10 or 12.." he said, the shop keeper stared at him for a moment but money was money so he handed them over. Jarrett quickly drank them down, feeling a lot better now but at least he could control his hunger. Not that the thought of draining a criminal crossed his mind. The one thing he had to do was to keep his anger in check or he'd have to fill out a lot of paperwork as to how the suspect ended up with a broken neck or something like that.
He headed off to his apartment to drop off his things. He looked around, "And I need to dust.." he said.
Later after he rested, he headed to the police station. As soon as his partner saw him, she laid into him.
"Look at this!" Catherine hissed. "Whole stack of murders, missing persons. I can't take it. You keep your *** here for awhile or I'm shooting you." not that it did any good, he could just heal. "And I bet all or at least 99% of these are vampire related."
Jarrett stared at her, her face was slightly red, her veins very visible. The woman needed a vacation before she keels over. "I'm sorry, but when the FBI calls, I got to take it." he said which was only half true. He called them and asked to put on cases just so he could get out of town.
He sat down at his desk and started to look through the files, the murder cases already had units assigned to them, most of them looked gang related but could very well be vampire related instead. The missing persons, people didn't have high hopes of finding any of them alive so they end up just being pushed aside. "Guess we'll start on these. Has anyone done anything with them?" he asked.
"These three are brand new so no. The other two, were looked into but no leads." Cathy replied, petting Noir and giving him a treat.
Jarrett nodded, "This report says people heard yelling the night before she went missing. The boyfriend says he knows nothing about it but he was seen leaving an hour later.." he said, reading the report. "There's our lead." he added, frankly sounded like a murder case now but the woman had no family and it was her work that reported her missing but not the boyfriend.
He stood up to head for the front desk but stopped, wide eyed a moment. The woman was there...a spirit.
"What's wrong?" Cathy replied.
"Oh that little problem I now have...that I told you about before I left..." Jarrett said, as the woman yelled about how her boyfriend killed her over thinking she was cheating which she wasn't. That was all very good information to have but he couldn't use it. He needed proof. He hurried off to the front desk. "Hey Linda." he said, he had to let her know he was here in case anything new happened that he needed to be made aware of.
"Welcome back." Linda said with a smile. "You have some mail, its in your box."
Jarrett nodded, "Thank you." he replied.

Re: Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
He'd gotten himself all turned around, having missed the street he had been meant to go down, and continued on straight. However, he'd corrected his mistake, and as he turned the corner - he finally saw the police sign above the building. His face set into one of grim determination as he strode up the steps and barged through the doors. It was evident that this was a man with purpose as the doors clattered open and his shoes clipped neatly over the stone floor. He found his way up the stairs and to the front desk, once more pushing through the second set of doors in the same manner and looked around.
There were a few people sitting around, waiting for one thing or another. Some were here voluntarily while it looked like others were most definitely here against their wills - the handcuffs being the give away. He ignored them however, and his eyes found the front desk and the woman sitting there. As he approached, someone else came out too - a man. A black man. Quinn kept his face neutral as he internally recoiled and thought 'No wonder'. Now it all made sense as to why his children hadn't been found, hadn't been looked for and his calls hadn't been returned. People like that would never work properly and would never care about whites and the important things in life. His eyes quickly returned to the woman and he simply pretended the man wasn't there in the slightest.
"Excuse me."
He said in a very curt and clipped tone, looking directly at her.
"Who do I speak to regarding a complaint. I've made report after report about my children who have vanished, called for updates, and have received nothing back!"
His fist banged on the desk, his anger rising and bubbling out.
"Nothing! Months and months it's been and NOTHING! This is deplorable, these are my CHILDREN we're talking about! Now! Someone had better tell me what's been going on, what stage the case is at and where you think my children are! NOW!"

Re: Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
Jarrett stared at the man for a moment, putting a hand on Linda's shoulder then left to return to his desk after getting his mail. "We might be dealing with someone, depending on the case." he said. He wished things were easy to solve but they weren't, even outside of Harper Rock.
Catherine looked over at the man. "Lovely." she said. "I hate this town." she muttered. Now that she knew what was going on this city, she hated it so much. Tons and tons of missing persons and murders. And they all had to do with vampires. She growled softly as she scribbled out her name on a report. Missing persons were either dead or a vampire. It was so damn annoying.
Linda was used to dealing with all sorts of people. Hateful, rude, angry, yelling. "I'm sorry for the trouble sir, but we deal with a lot of missing persons here. That's why this task force was created, we have missing persons from all over the world." she said. She took out a sticky note, "Please write down the names of your children and I will pull the files and find the officers who handled the cases."

Quinn just stared at the woman, put his hand into his pocket, pulled out his wallet, removed two pictures from within it - as all of the paraphernalia he'd created was in his cases - and slammed them down in front of her. Snatching the note and pen from her, he wrote down both Fionn's name and Gwynn's, and then shoved the note back at her.
"What do you mean you have a 'lot' of missing people in this town? You make it sound like folks go missing every night! But this, this has been MONTHS andI've had no word back! I've had to travel halfway across the blasted country to get here and get an answer! So if you think I'm going anywhere - you've got another thing coming!"
He stated, very matter of factly. After which, he simply folded his arms and then stood there looking at the woman, waiting for her to get the files and the officers who'd dealt with it for him. He wasn't kidding when he'd said he wanted answers now.

Re: Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
Linda stared at him, wishing people would understand that there was nothing she could do it about it. Yelling at her wasn't going to help anything. "You wouldn't believe how many missing persons we handle.." she said, she felt like this place was like the Bermuda Triangle.
"Sir, I didn't imply that you go anywhere. Getting upset here isn't going to help things any. I'm not physic, I do need information before I pull up the files." she said. She picked up the pictures for a moment then looked to the note with their names on them. She put the names in the computer, looking over where the files were at. She frowned, seeing them in the cold case area. "Sir, please come this way." she said, showing him to an empty interviewing room. "It will be just a moment." she said.
She hurried off to the cold cases, looking through them but couldn't find the files. She looked it over a few times just to be sure. She went to the spot they were before with the other missing cases but they weren't there either.
She went over to Jarrett. "Jarrett...I can't find these cases anywhere. Did you work on one of them?" she asked, she handed him the note with the names on them.
Jarrett would have went pale if he could have. "Yes, I did work on her case." he said. "That's strange that the files are not here. Wonder if they got sent over to the states.." he said.
Linda returned to her desk, looking through the computer for any sort of record about those cases but found nothing there as well. "I don't know what to tell that man. He's going to be even more pissed that we don't even have a missing persons report on them." she said, she didn't understand how this could happen.
"I'll handle him.." Jarrett said, waving for Cathy to come with him. He went to an empty room first. "Damn it." he said as the door closed.
"What's wrong?" Catherine asked.
"That man is Wolffyn's father.." Jarrett said, he got rid of the file all together so anyone else wouldn't look into it. Before that he had simply put in a fake picture so they would be looking for the wrong person. The case was deemed cold anyway, no one could find any evidence of the girl here. But when the report of her brother also going missing came in, he truly had no idea what happened to him. He had met him once and after that, he didn't know what happened but if he was missing it was safe to assume he was most likely dead. Jarrett had kept himself so busy that he didn't look into it. He just made sure to lose that report too.
"Your vampire sister...or whatever?" Cathy replied, she didn't understand the whole vampire thing, and she really didn't want to. "You should have known this was bound to happen, right?"
Jarrett nodded, "It is way too dangerous here for relatives of vampires." he said, he couldn't rest the whole time that his mom had been here. He sighed, closing his eyes. "I've seen so many parents...the hardest part is not knowing. Parents need closure."
"But for their safety in this case, he needs get the hell out of here." Cathy replied.
Jarrett wasn't sure how a meeting between father and daughter would go but the choice would be up to Wolffyn. He headed into the other room where he was in, followed by Catherine. "I'm Jarrett Ajax, this is Catherine Jackson. Sorry to keep you waiting." he said, sitting down along with Cathy.
"I'm sorry to say that there are some files missing, misplaced or perhaps they were sent to the states but we do not have the missing cases for your children." Jarrett explained, "I worked on your daughter's case personally however. The status of that case had turned cold. I remember looking over your son's case because it was related and the status is the same. We had found no evidence of your children being here in the city."
"If you happen to have any new information we can open up another case for them and start fresh." he added.
"Sir, I didn't imply that you go anywhere. Getting upset here isn't going to help things any. I'm not physic, I do need information before I pull up the files." she said.

Re: Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
He nodded his head and followed her as she told him to come with her. He was ead into a room, an interview room like you saw on TV with the table, two chairs and a big mirror. Sitting himself down in one of the chairs he went to say something but she was already gone, with the door closed behind her. Alone, he sagged slightly and sighed as he stared at the table in front of him. Everything was catching up to him and trying to spill out and over the dam he'd built in his head. For so long it had all been about calling to get information. Then he'd been focussed on getting to this god forsaken town. Now that he was here.... it was all becoming so very real for him and emotions that had been locked down and used as a foundation for his strength - were rippling and trying to escape.
He wasn't sure how long he was sat there, but the door opened and a woman walked in with that man again. Quinn kept his eyes on the woman, Catherine was her name apparently and refused to even look at Jarrett. He could feel his jaw clenching as his fists in his lap curled and uncurled as if he wanted to hit something.
"You..... lost the files?"
He asked her through gritted teeth, and then nodded towards Jarrett.
"I presume it's his fault. Vigilance, hard work and attention to detail are hardly his sorts strong points after all!"
One hand lifted and rubbed at his bald head, then down over his face as he tried to control his temper. They'd closed the case, and would only open a new case if he had more information. HE had to have the information and THEY were doing sod all to find his children. He wanted to reach across the table, grab the man by his collar and throw him against the wall before pounding the ever loving snot out of his body. However, he kept his calm, kept himself under control and stood up suddenly and with force, so that his chair fell over backwards.
"As always, I guess I will have to do the work others are too lazy to do!"
And with a very pointed look at Jarrett, he stomped from the room and the station after slamming all doors he walked through open and then shut again - the glass in the front door actually cracking with the force. He was absolutely fuming, yet totally drained at the same time. He needed to go back to the hotel and look over some maps, set up a game plan to put into practice tomorrow. He'd spotted posters for a place called the Metronome - so that was probably where he was going to start searching the next night. But first - sleep.

Re: Little Girl Lost ((Open to anyone who knows Wolffyn))
Cathy glared at the man, "Now just wait a...!" she started, getting to her feet.
Jarrett raised his hand, his expression didn't change. "My sort? You mean human beings?" he replied simply. Who would have thought that Wolffyn's dad was a racist but the world was filled with all kinds of people.
Cathy looked to Jarrett after the man left, "That's all you have to say to that ********?" she snapped.
Jarrett shrugged his shoulders, "There's no dealing with that short of thing. No matter what I said.." he said, "If I had known, maybe it would have been best to just have had you here." he said then sighed. "Can't really blame being upset over this. Any parent would.." he said softly, putting his face in his hands. "I might be already dead but this place just kills you slowly even then.."
Cathy stared a moment before giving him a good kick in the leg. "Enough of that, what are you going to do about this?" she asked.
Jarrett looked up, "I don't know yet." he said, getting up and left the police station without saying anything else. He just walked with no place in mind until he finally sat down in his apartment, petting Noir. After awhile he finally took out his cell phone, typing out a message to Wolffyn. I need to talk to you about something, it's urgent. Human Family related.
He wasn't sure if a text message would even work. Maybe he needed extra help, someone who could keep an eye on the man while he was in town.
