Madison: She had made him nervous. The way that he was breathing was the tell. She’d done it enough times herself but for her it was when she was forced into more social or public situations. It wouldn’t do well for either of them if he let anxiety get the best of him. Re-thinking her own plan, Madison tried to think of ways that would ease his nerves about the factory they were about to break into. It would be possible for her to get the door they were entering unlocked so he didn’t have to fiddle with that and possibly fail. She hadn’t asked how proficient he was at breaking into the type of lock that this building had.
“Would it be better if I got the door you’re going through unlocked first?” she asked with a glance towards him, her pace starting to slow. “If so, you’ll just have to stay put until you see smoke and hear guards shouting before you go in. Once you’re inside, I’ll be right behind you, coming in through the same door.”
Zane: The waiting while she thought was only making it worse, he kept second guessing himself. His mind just gone wild thinking about how much she won't like him if he screws up and gets them both into trouble. He sighed again and just smacked himself in the head. No more jumping to conclusions or assuming, he is better than this and he knows it. He looked towards Madison and smiled.
"Nah, I am fine Madison, lets just do this. I am certain we will be okay after all there is two of us. Alright, set up that diversion and make sure I know it's a diversion and I will get that door unlocked quickly." He told her.
Madison: Pale blue irises stared at him without any reflection of the internal thoughts inside her head. His smacking of himself at first seemed to have no reasoning behind the action but upon thinking about it in a more logical manner, he was probably physically chiding himself for being anxious about the situation. Either way, the man needed to get control of himself and it appeared as though he was beginning to manage that. It made Madison glad that she had enough knockout and smoke bombs to get the both of them out of the building in the case that they were caught.
“When we get to the corner, we’re going to stop, talk a bit and then hug as though we’re simply parting ways on our way home. You’re going to go to the west of the building. There’s two entrances on that side. Stay wide of the first you pass, there’s a camera on that one but the second one should be clear.” Madison paused as they reached the end of the block, stopping and turning to Zane so that she was facing him, “I’ll be heading towards the north end of the building where the dumpsters are. It’s not uncommon for the homeless to dwell in this area. You shouldn’t have an issue knowing the diversion. Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”
Zane: Zane was ready, he felt calm and had his wits about him. He just kept his father’s words running through his head. If he had the right attitude he knows he can get through this. He looked towards her and then gave her a slight nod. "Alright, that sounds good to me Madison." he said as they kept walking and paused when she did. He listened to her intently and then smirked a bit. "Where there is smoke there's fire eh? I like the way you think." He said and then he made his move wrapping his arms around her middle in a tender hug before turning to part.
His nervousness came back but he just emptied his mind and didn't let it bring negative thoughts with it. He started walking off towards the west side of the building only a few steps from Madison before he hopes he understood her right. Was it hug then and go to the west? Or was he going to the west side after the diversion? Whatever it was it was too late he was heading towards the west side of the building and if he was doing something wrong she would stop him before he got too far away from her.
Madison: His arms wrapped around her waist and hers moved to wrap about his neck. But where there was tenderness in his movements, there was stiffness and awkwardness in hers. Other than Alexandrea, Lyana and sometimes Luffy, the telepath wasn’t overtly comfortable with physical contact from others. Even when it was just for show and her idea to boot.
She kept the hug brief before letting go and giving Zane the cheekiest smile she could muster, “See you in a bit.”
Both vampires turned from one another and parted ways. Since she had a further distance to travel, Madison quickened her step as she moved around the east side of the building and then headed down the alleyway that ran along the north end of the building where the semi-trucks loading bays were. Huge metal dumpsters lined the alleyway, spray painted stencil lettering named which businesses each of the dumpsters belonged to. The ones she needed weren’t difficult to find and the last one was out of the eye of the camera that watched over the loading docks. Lifting the lid to peek inside, she was pleased to see that the trash hadn’t been picked up in a few days. There was enough debris to keep a fire burning long enough to cause a sufficient distraction but not so much that the blaze could get out of control, causing the guards to call the fire department.
Grabbing a cardboard box from the neighboring business’ recyclables bin, Madison tored the box into roughly six by four inch pieces. Pulling her lighter out of her pocket, she lit them ablaze one by one. Making sure that each piece was halfway aflame before tossing it strategically into the trash container. The sides were metal which would keep it contained and the worst that would happen was that it would melt the plastic lids. Once smoke started to billow to the point of being noticed, Madison ran from the scene.

Zane: Zane kept walking with his hands in his pockets and his head held down looking at the road as he watched security guards scurry about all of a sudden. He lifted his head just slightly to see the smoke and he quickly made his way down the side of the building skipping the first door as she said and quickly hit the second door. He worked his magic, surprisingly calm for how nervous he was. It was just like every other door he broke into, something easy and second nature. He went inside, closing the door behind him but making sure it wasn't locked in case a security guard ran past. Didn't want them to see an open door. He rounded the nearest corner and hid in the shadows waiting for Madison.
He wrapped his arms around himself, rubbing his right arm nervously to calm himself down a bit. This was the worst part, the one his mind feared while standing out there. He knew the wait would probably be minutes but it would feel like hours. He didn't even dare to breath as he heard running footsteps of a guard run by. He closed his eyes and waited, his hand moving down to his handgun a finger running over it as he readied himself for the worst case scenario.
Madison: She could hear the shouting of the guards and smell the smoke on the air as she rounded the west side of the building. Moving quickly, the blonde gave the first door a wide berth to keep out of sight of its security camera and then jetted towards the second entrance a few meters down. Upon reaching the door, her movements because less rushed and immediately became more cautious and methodical.
It was an assumption on her part that there would be no more guards on this end of the building when she carefully opened the door and slipped inside. Had she opened the door ten seconds earlier, she would have been greeting the last guard in the west wing as he ran towards the north end of the building. The only thing that greeted her was an empty hallway. Slowly she let the door close behind her and then let her eyes adjust to the difference in light from outside to in. It only took her a few moments before she spotted a shadowy corner that she assumed that Zane would be hiding in. Moving towards it, she didn’t stop as she passed and her speed once again had increased slightly, “C’mon. We’ve probably got five or ten minutes before all of them are back inside.”
Zane: Zane started breathing again once he saw Madison and as she passed quickly he followed her but somehow managed to keep with the shadows as he did so. His breathing was slow but steady as he moved silently behind her, his footwork quick but silent. He was a shadow and he was going to try and keep true to that name. With Madison's help he was sure he wouldn't become an embarrassment to all other shadows.
He quickly turned and looked behind them thinking he heard something and it seemed to be just a mouse. He let out a sigh of relief as he turned back around and caught up with Madison.
Madison: “We’ll hit the doors on this end of the building first, then head south, east and lastly north if possible,” Madison explained to Zane using her mind so that she no longer needed to speak. “I’m hoping we can hit the west and the south before they completely put the fire out and then they might patrol the outside area and alleyway for a bit but only one or two of them will stay outside for the whole ordeal.”
Her movements through the halls held purpose and the lack of hesitation as she approached intersecting corridors proved her knowledge of the layout of this particular building. But what wasn’t blindingly apparent was that she was on high alert the entire time. Her ears were constantly listening for sounds of footsteps other than her own (Zane being a shadow hardly seemed to make any noise at all) and her pale blue eyes frequently scanned the walls and ceilings to check for cameras and motion sensors.
Zane: Zane nodded slightly mostly to himself as she explained everything to him. He stalked silently behind her as his mind started to wander and his footsteps gave that away as he started making more noise than before. He thought of how much he didn't want to disappoint her and why. He quickly came back to his senses though as they hit the end of the building she was talking about and he saw the doors. He made a quick look around before noting it was clear and he rushed towards the doors.
Once at them he made quick work of the complex lock and then smirked widely as he heard that click. He ran inside and quickly started looting the room taking some volatile chemicals and bagging them before rushing back outside to wait for Madison to get her share.
Madison: The sound of footsteps behind her startled Madison, causing her to spin around quickly on her heel. But it was only Zane who seemed to immediately know that he was making noise. She was about to mentally chide him when the male darted past where she stood and made a beeline for the doors. Once again, the telepath spun on her heel but this time with her hands in the air that non-verbally said ‘What the **** are you doing?’
It was no wonder the young vampire was always getting caught. He had absolutely no patience. Before Madison had even crossed the hallway, because she was taking her time to make sure no one was down the hall or approaching, Zane was already inside the room. He wasn’t careful about rifling through things either. As she entered the room, she could tell where exactly he’d been and what he’d taken. It was her personal preference to steal things in such a way that it took inventory counts to realize that anything was even missing. You didn’t just shove **** around and move things out of your way to get what you wanted. The room should always look like no one had even entered it. Grabbing a few vials of chemicals for herself, she didn’t bother to right Zane’s wrongs before exiting the room. She’d have to wait a few weeks before hitting this factory again.
