Walking down the street the young woman looked out of place in the city. Even though she had lived here for over two years the young woman was still leery of this place. She made her way down the street her eyes scanning every which way to make sure she was safe. Yes she was immortal but she had never really embraced it. She did not feed off mortals because she believed herself to be still part of them and they are not food. She carried bottled blood in a cooler taking it back to her home. She was heading to an apartment where she keep all this stuff to keep it safe. She would heat up the blood when she needed to drink but that was it.
Her blond hair was blowing in the wind and she had on a leather jacket though she did not need it. She was also wearing jeans and boots. Making it to her apartment building she went in and dropped the bottles off in her fridge before heading back out. She was outside in fifteen minutes so she was on the street again. She was back to looking left and right when someone came out of the shadows and startled her. She took a step back and looked at the person her voice stuttering ”Who.. Who are you?”
She was scared and taking more steps back she did not know who the person was because they were still kind of in the shadows so she could not see the face. Yes she was getting better at things but she was still scared and did not know a friend from someone in this city that would harm her for being a mortal lover. She would if she had the guts tell the mortals about the vampires but she was not that strong yet.
The voices in her head started to speak to her telling her different things. One was telling her to run and another was telling her to just scream. The wraith on the other hand was telling her to kill it whatever it was. She was slowly losing her mind to the voices and wanted them gone but knew there was no way to get rid of them
She shook her head at the voices and screamed ”GET OUT OF MY HEAD. LEAVE ME ALONE.” She turned and ran not knowing if the person in the shadows was following her or not. She was in pain from the voices and wanted them gone. Her head and heart where breaking. The voices were also telling her that the man she loved would leave her like all the others in her life. They told her it was her fault that her parents were dead. It was her fault that her father’s family disliked her. They were constantly bringing her down.
She ran tears falling down her face the tears where the color of blood. She ran into a moral and she was so out of it she did not know what she was doing. The mortal did not know what was coming as she brought up her blade and then brought it down cutting the mortal in half. She then ran more she had to get out of the city before she hurt someone. She did not want to hurt anyone else in this city and did not know if she could handle what was happening to her.
Making it to the woods she ran faster and farther than she probably should have. She was now lost in the woods and did not want to go back to the city. She was sure if she did with the voices in her head she would not kill someone else. As she was there crying she could sense the Fae around but she ignored them. She did not understand why the voices wanted to torment her so much. She also did not know if the person she had seen but did not see had followed her. She was to out of it to pay attention to anything.

Re: Going out of her mind (open)
Hanei had been watching this particular mortal for some time, for he was on a dark path not dissimilar to the one that Hanei himself had been on not long ago. He watched the would-be serial killer from the rooftops, or more correctly the shadows thereof, trying to figure out his patterns and what motivated this man to attempt murder. The Killer had no weapons, but then again, being a vampire with abilities like his, he really didn't need them. He could move five times faster than a mortal could blink, his hands could grow claws at his command in times of self defense, and he had mastered more than one defensive, non-lethal martial arts technique in case he needed to subdue someone. Like right now.
The human seemed to have a fondness for blondes, which Hanei found mildly disturbing as his Sire was a blonde herself. He tried to keep that out of his mind, focusing on the unstable man who stood in the shadows on the street, and using his vampiric sense of smell(which came with not having blood for several hours) he monitored the man's every movement. Then something unexpected occurred, he saw an all too conveniently distraught and distracted blonde woman approach where the man was hiding. Talk about wrong place wrong time, eh? But then he took a deep wiff of the scents in the area, and realized that he could not scent the woman-she was not mortal.
What was more, upon further examination, as the man stepped slightly forward, scaring the poor young woman, Hanei realized that this woman was none other than Corin Diechi -- his Sire. Instantly, his instincts changed from that of a self-proclaimed non-violent vigilante to one of a protective childe. Bearing his fangs, he leapt down from the roof silently, landing atop the man deftly just as he was about to reach for Corin. Hanei put the scumbag down without hesitation, it didn't take much force in his foot to snap the man's neck. He looked up, and saw Corin running away, screaming and crying in apparent distress. Without another thought, he chased after her, not even stopping to help the mortal she had accidentally harmed.
It didn't take much energy on his part to keep up with her, though the Anima he was using up surely could be much more useful out here in the woods where the Fae lived and lurked. He noticed that she had at last tired herself out and come to a stop, so he too stopped and cautiously approached her, not entirely sure of her state of mind. He reached a hand out gently to her shoulder, hoping she would recognize him but ready to pull back if she was too frightened for recognition to kick in. "Corin....Sire....it is....your childe....Hanei...do not....be...afraid..."

Re: Going out of her mind (open)
She saw the man approach and did not understand who he was. She could not at this time recognize him and so she started to scream. While she was screaming she turned into a red panda and was up the tree in no time. The fae that was lurking around saw the animal that was the vampire it had been interested in watching and went to help the animal. Also the scream had brought out other fae that will wondering what in the world was going on. They did not know the animal in the tree was a vampire just an animal that needed to be protected. The Red panda made a hissing sound at the vampire and at the fae. The voice somewhat gone but still there in her head. She did not recognize anything that was going on and her mind reached out for one person. The pain though was broadcast on a wide angle so anyone in the area could feel the pain she was in. The voices telling her what to do and what not to do. The headache she was getting. She did not like this at all.

Re: Going out of her mind (open)
Hanei recoiled his hand immediately when she began to scream, and he took a step back in a show of harmlessness. Unfortunately, in her current state of mind she was not satisfied with him stepping back. He had never before been beholden to her changing into an animal, though he had seen other vampires do the same thing. The red panda she changed into reminded him more of a cat than of a panda, though he did recognize what she had shifted into. As it would turn out, Fate and the Fae really didn't like him at this time, because other creatures had also noticed his Sire's change into an animal, or at least that she was presently an animal in a tree that was trying to stay out of his reach.
He instantly felt her reaching out, not sure if it was meant for him or not, and he clutched at his temples, crying out in pain as he fell to his knees. He looked up through the haze of pain entering his mind, and saw several disgruntled if not angry Fae glaring at him. Wait a moment, how could he see the Fae? Vampires can't normally see them, so what was going on?
Then something dawned on him that had been bothering his mind for quite some time, for years and years in fact. If he could see the Fae, who looked eerily familiar in shape and demeanor, then what else could he see? Could Mother Death have been...? There was no time to ponder the question, for if the Fae found out that Corin was not in fact an animal, she too could be in great danger.
Not knowing what else to do, he used what Anima he had left to grow razor-sharp claws from his hands and bellowed at the top of his voice in a primal rage, hoping to frighten them off or at least to surprise them. He had never let go of his control like this before, not for anyone else. But this was Corin, his Sire and the one woman in this world, one person, who had been willing to save his life when he needed her. Blood escaped his lungs as he attempted to speak coherently at Corin, the consequences of a complicated disease that had transferred over when he was Turned.
"CORIN! You must get down from there! Please, it's Hanei, you can trust me!" He coughed when he had said all he could, blood spattering the ground at his feet as he then swiped his claws at the now blurry figures surrounding him, just desperately trying to make them go away.

Re: Going out of her mind (open)
She hissed at the fae that where attacking the man who called her by name and said his name. Her mind was more her own in the anima form but the voices where still there. Jumping down from the tree she scurried over to the vampire and then stood on his lap hissing at the fae. All but the one that had been watching her turned and ran not wanting to hurt the animal. The one that watched her just keep watching and not saying a thing. It was strange that it would be watching a vampire that had changed into an animal but this vampire had caught his attention. She looked healthy compared to the one she was protecting.
Changing back into her human form clothing and all she looked at the fae and growled. No one would hurt her childe even if she was going out of her mind she would protect her childe. She pulled out her sword and stood her ground as she did a wolf came out of the trees and stood near her. This was different in the fae's eyes so he let it pass. He was just watching the girl. He turned and went back into the woods but not to far as to watch the female vampire. Corin then looked at Hanie and the compassion she had for her only childe was there. She had been scarred to turn anyone else because she thought her blood tainted.
She sent out a call to anyone who could hear her to come and help. It was a mental call and she did not know if anyone would hear it. She was so scared for her childe and the blood he was coughing up. Tears where in her eyes and the voices telling her she was stupid and dumb. She was the reason her childe was hurt and she was the reason she was always alone even in the family she was in. She screamed out at the voices. "STOP JUST STOP." She was scared and did not want the voices talking to her at this time.

Re: Going out of her mind (open)
Alex was completely content to stand on his street corner pawning his trade that night. He was near the wilderness using the remote area to feed off of the wallets of drunks. With a card table set up on one side of him and a propane tank grill on the other side he was busy bouncing back and forth both feeding them all as they came out of the bars and then entertaining them and causing them to gamble away the last of their money in hopes they could beat him in a simple came of blackjack. He would never admit it but sometimes those spiffy vampire powers came in handy when you were trying to win a card game. His eyes finely tuned to catch every little detail, more often than not the reflection of his opponents cards if they were wearing glasses or the occasional marking on the backs of some cards that were so small and hidden so well It would have taken another of his kind to notice. With a pocket stuffed full one one and five dollar notes he felt pretty content with the way things were going so far tonight even with the small crowd dwindling down to almost nothing.
It wasn't until his latest mark had wandered off after loosing a fair amount of money on both food and betting against Alex that he felt a stirring in his senses. Blood was in the air. And it wasn't human. Turning off the grill and packing up his deck of cards he wondered just what could be brewing out in the wilderness at this time of night that would actually make him pay heed. Padlocking his grill to a stop sign and leaving the table (who cared, it was $20 at Wal-Mart) he set off towards the trees in search of his answers. The wilderness grew ever closer with each step he took, the trees twisted this way and that as they reached towards the heavens as if crying out for salvation. The darkness giving the open field and the trees ahead of him an uneasy feeling. And of all nights to be without a weapon to it had to be the night when he wandered off in to the wilderness looking for trouble.
Thankfully he didn't have far to walk before he heard a female voice, one he actually recognized scream out. Sighing and letting the palm of his hand meet his head he picked up the pace a little bit until the his eyes came upon Corin and the form of a bloody man. So that was the scent. And he was guessing Corin was the reason he had felt compelled to investigate. Far be it from him to deny a damsel a rescue, especially one as fine looking as the one that was standing a dozen or so feet away. He let out a soft sigh and seeing that the coast was some what clear he called out.
"You okay over there blondie? I think I forgot my shining armor at home but I'm more than willing to give ya a hand if ya want it."

Re: Going out of her mind (open)
Hanei trembled as he began to feel woozy, the results of sudden blood loss due to his attempts to speak coherently. The Fae hadn't really scattered when he yelled and swiped at them, only taking a step backwards each, and cautiously facing him. He had failed Corin...But then the unexpected occurred, and Corin's fog seemed to dissipate long enough for her to leap from the tree and scare off the Fae herself.
All of these events happening quickly overwhelmed his mind, and Hanei fell to one knee as he tried to catch his breath, sweat dripping down his face and over each scar that unfortunately adorned his face. How had Corin regained her state of mind? Had it been the fact that he was bleeding from the mouth? By the tears in her eyes, which he was quick to attempt to dry with his 'found' neckerchief, that must be the case. Even as his Sire cried out, obviously in distress due to unseen forces, he did the only thing he could think of to do at the time and embraced her, a hug of comfort he had never given to anyone before. It was uncomfortably strange to give a hug, but this was Corin and the rules of how Hanei acted and thought were vastly different.
He had detected the other vampire approaching some time previously, but did not really care. As long as he meant no harm to Corin, Hanei would quietly leave him alone. His throat and vocal chords in particular felt like they were on fire, and he had no intention of irritating them further. For now, he ho[ed that Corin was reaching out with her mind, and identified himself by thought so she could find his mind and that he could speak to her.
