Bright lights, screaming fans, what wasn't there to love about a good celebration of a nation's holiday? In Dawn's mind, not much. She loved it, being in the spotlight, being up on stage, a mic in her hand as she belted out her songs for the legions of people that came out to celebrate Canada Day. Dawn was rather shocked that her agent managed to get her this gig, smiling to the people that stood before the stage that was erected for all the performers that they had brought out for the celebrations and festivities. Her voice echoed into the night as she finished the last song of the night, she had a 5 song set before she had to give up the stage to another singer, but for now, she was the one in the limelight.
After she finished the song, she smiled and waved to everyone "Thank you! I'll be signing CDs and Pictures just over there..." she said, pointing to where a table was set just outside of the 'bull pen'. Already her band was breaking down their equipment that they brought with them as she turned and tossed her mic to her drummer so he could tuck it away with everything else. She walked behind the stage and took a glance at herself in the mirror, making sure every colorful hair was in place and that her outfit was still as she had meant it to be. Tonight she resembled the love child of Rainbow Bright and Sailor Moon, her rainbow colored hair was pulled into Sailor Moon's signature 'meat ball' pig tails, the length well to her hips, and her vinyl skirt and matching top were just as bright as the colors in her hair.
Skipping down the stairs in her Spice Girls-esque platform thigh-high boots she glanced back as she heard someone say something. She laughed and as she turned around, she ran into someone, nearly falling on her *** because it felt as if she had walked into a brick wall. "My God! I'm Sorry!" She said, her Russian accent that she normally muted when she was out in public, coming to life as she turned to see who she ran into.
Even through the small pieces of silicone shoved in her ears, what should of been the muffled sounds of the band playing and the crowd cheering them on sounded as though she didn't have the earplugs in at all. A grimace crossed her features as she threaded her way through the throngs of people. This kind of giant public festival was far from what Madison would consider her 'scene'. As of late, her scene had included nothing but the inside of raid buildings and the d'Artois Depot. But here she was, out with the drunken masses 'celebrating' her great nation's birthday. Madison's way of celebrating was slipping wallets and valuables out of pockets as she passed.
The blonde vampire had just successfully pocketed a few hundred dollars out of man's pocket and a camcorder out of his companion's over-sized purse without either one of the couple ever noticing. They were too busy watching some woman onstage who looked like a rainbow had puked itself onto her. Pale cornflower blue eyes narrowed as Madison eyed the female performing on stage. As many odd ducks as there were in this podunk town, this particular one stood out to her. There was something familiar about her but the vampire couldn't quite peg where she knew the woman from. Perhaps she was a local and had played at Lancaster's but Madison doubted the probability of the possibility. She didn't seem the type to play at Lancaster's.
The set ended and Madison watched the woman intently as she moved to go offstage. She couldn't figure out where she knew this woman from and it was bothering her. How could something be so familiar and yet so foreign at the same time? When the brightly colored female disappeared off stage right, the telepath moved quickly through the crowd in the direction the singer had moved out of sight. Ignoring the dismayed protests of concert-goers, Madison pushed through until she found herself in the path of the woman she'd been trying to follow. Due to the amount of fans trying to follow the woman as well, it made it easier to get in the singer's way while she was distracted.
Managing to get in her path, collision was unavoidable and the woman bashed into her like a fly hitting a window pane. The woman practically bounced off of Madison and she shot a hand out to grip her by the elbow, keeping her from falling. The sound of a Russian accent had her blue orbs narrowing once more. The sound of the dialect bringing up unwanted memories of her sibling, Ivy. For a moment the idea that this was yet another of Ivy's reincarnations crossed her mind. Ivy died almost as much as Robert did and this seemed exactly like the type of human that the mystic maggot would infest. But the woman's heartbeat betrayed her. This wasn't Ivy. The accent was just a coincidence but she couldn't shake the niggling familiarity that this human gave her.
"It's alright, I'm fine. Are you?" Madison assured the woman but before giving her a chance to respond to the question that was more of an expected formality, she asked her, "Have we met before?"

The woman's grip on her arms was cooler to the touch than most people. She was getting used to that feeling so she was pretty sure that she could guess what the woman was. That being said, she didn't say anything at first she just shook her head to clear away her momentary klutz moment and then smiled to her, revealing the small fangs that she had, her own clear blue eyes meeting the woman's gaze. "Yes, I'm fine, thank you and sorry again about bumping into you." She said, pushing her long rainbow colored hair behind her shoulders. "As for meeting, I don't think so." She said softly, really taking in the woman's appearance. She didn't seem to fit any of the vampire's she knew of from her many hacks and she was pretty sure she wasn't part of the gang bangs she had been subjected too.
"I'm pretty big in the US and UK though... so maybe there?" she said as she turned her attention once more to the crowd, smiling and waving to them for a moment. "Can I sign anything for you?" She asked with a sweet as candy smile that lit up her entire face, and thanks to the lights from the stage she almost glowed in the night, her clothes actually did thanks to the black lights. "Or is there anything else I can help you with?" She added, not really waiting for her to answer the first question because not everyone knew who she was so she knew that offering an autograph would upset some people. That thought in mind though, her eyes shifted to the table she was supposed to get too where her agent was standing looking as if someone had shoved a broom stick up her *** and she was trying to get it out again. It was actually amusing to look at and made Dawn laugh a little before she remembered that the woman before her was still standing there.
"Sorry, but the look on my agent's face is amusing as all hell." She added so that the girl didn't think that Dawn was laughing at her.

"I doubt that. I've lived in Harper Rock almost my entire life and your musical style doesn't seem to be my taste," Madison replied to the little blood thief.
The showing of those tiny fangs told the telepath everything she needed to know. She was surprised the girl was so willing to show that she was a blood thief. Sure the humans around them would probably think it was all part of the singer's act. A pair of fake fangs that overlay atop of the normal enamel of the tooth but Madison could tell the difference and having had a pair herself before she had been turned, she was well aware of what they looked like. But either the girl was stupid and trusted the fact that Madison could do nothing to harm her in the middle of the crowd or the girl was full of herself and stupid to think that the vampire in front of her would forget her face after this night. While it was true Madison couldn't do anything now and more than likely would never raise a weapon to the blood thief ever, she would have thought that the ones who turned the woman to the blood thief lifestyle would have told her that blood thieves live their lives with targets on their heads.
"I don't want an autograph but there is...." Madison's response was cut off as the blood thief looked away from her and started laughing. A manicured brow raised once more slightly but the vampire nodded at the explanation, glancing towards the direction that Dawn had been looking to see the agent she had spoken about. Looking back to the woman before her, Madison finished what she had started to say, "There is something you could do for me but it seems like you have someplace to be at the moment. How about we meet after you're done signing things for people and we can have a chat. The festival won't be over for hours into the night yet and we can stay in the public eye so that you feel more comfortable."

A small, almost disheartening pout came to her face, at the thought that her music wasn't enjoyed by all. Yet, there everyone had their own tastes and she wouldn't begrudge the woman for not liking her music. Not all could be bubble goths like her. She metaphorically brushed herself off and let her smile once more grace her face as the woman mentioned wanting to speak later. Dawn turned her eyes onto her agent and waved her over. The uptight woman mad her way over to them and was about to bark at Dawn but Dawn motioned to the vampire before her and smiled. "Bertie, be a doll and give my friend a VIP pass and take her to the trailer so that she can be comfortable while I am busy doing the signing you want me to do." She said, her voice sugary sweet as her smile.
Bertie looked at the woman, giving her a rather annoyed look before she nodded to Dawn and forced a smile, no where near as friendly as Dawn's to the girl. "Please, this way miss...?" She said, motioning to the woman with one hand while reaching into her bag and producing a bright pink VIP pass and holding it out to her. Dawn smiled and called out "Don't let my boys scare you, I'll meet you in there soon enough!" She called out merrily before she skipped towards the table where people were already gathering for their autographs and pictures and what ever else they wanted from the 'pop' star.

Madison took the obnoxiously pink very-important-person pass and looped the cord that it hung from around her neck so that the tag fell over her chest and settled in between her breasts over her shirt. She didn't have any intentions of sitting in Dawn's trailer for who knew how long but let Dawn's manager lead the way. Back behind the stage, past the humming generators that powered all the lights and sound equipment and carefully stepping over five-wire that laid across the ground, the two women made their way to the area reserved for trailers and touring buses where the carnival workers and acts slept in overnight. A lone security guard stood watch over the only entrance and both Madison and the agent held up their passes as they entered.
"It's just up here, you should find an assortment of drinks and snacks in the fridge but don't take the last of anything, please."
The pair approached a nice looking trailer and Bertie quickened her pace a few steps so that she could reach the door and unlock it for Madison. Opening it up, she held the door for the vampire and gave her a few last instructions, "We keep careful inventory of all Dawn's belongings so please don't touch anything that looks fragile or expensive. The television has cable and Netflix and there's on of those Wii things too. Don't ask me what games she has, because I don't know off the top of my head. She'll be done whenever she feels like being done and I need to get back there and oversee. Any questions?"
Madison frowned. not because the woman had accused her of thinking of stealing stuff (which she had debated) but because the woman had not properly invited her into the trailer. She shook her head in a negative fashion and forced a small smile as she passed Bertie on the step. Luckily her entering wouldn't be awkward since she'd obtained the ability to enter an owned home without permission but having permission made things a bit easier.
Once inside the door slammed shut behind her and Madison was left to her own devices. The inside of the trailer was just obscene in terms of color scheme. It looked lilke a rainbow had committed suicide by blowing its own brain out while slicing its wrists and flailing at the same time. The blonde vampire sighed, shrugged her shoulders and began to snoop around.

Dawn had tried to be quick while still giving her fans some of the attention that they needed and deserved. Then with a kiss to her fans, she stood and made her way back to the trailer. All in all, it had taken her away from the woman that had wanted to talk to her for all of 20 minutes. It wasn't really enough time with her moon children, but she was curious as to what the vampire wanted with her. She was pretty sure, though not certain, that the woman had no violent intentions towards her, after all, she could have harmed her right as she bumped into her and no one would have been the wiser because everyone was distracted in some way or fashion.
As she walked up the steps, she brushed off her tutu once again and pulled the door open. "I am so sorry that it took me so long, I trust that you found something to keep yourself busy?" She asked politely before she moved over to one of the long white couches and sat down. "So what was it that you wished to speak about?" She asked a moment later, reaching up to her pig tails to pull out the colorful hair extensions, leaving just her platinum - almost white - hair in the pig tails. As much as she loved the color, she got annoyed when she sat on them accidentally. Then she crossed her legs at the ankles and awaited what the vampire girl wanted to say to her or ask her. Either way, Dawn was always happy for company that didn't want to kill her time and time again.

There wasn't much of anything that held Madison's interest in the pop-star's trailer. At least not on the surface of things but there wasn't the time for the vampire to dig deeper before she heard someone at the trailer door. She was certain of the blood thief's name now, which was far better than not knowing. Maybe twenty or thirty minutes had passed since Bertie had left Madison to herself and she was rather surprised that someone was already entering. A hand instinctively went to the concealed weapon at her side and dropped quickly as she saw that it was Dawn that entered.
Taking a seat on an opposite couch from where the little blood thief sat and began to remove her costume pieces, the telepath responded to her questions, "You took much less time than I expected. I admit that I didn't nearly have enough time to rifle through your belongings to find out what type of person you are. I doubt though that you would keep anything of major interest in this bus since I'm aware that you live in Harper Rock."
Madison fell silent for a moment as she watched for reactions to her total honest answer and revelation that she knew more about Dawn than she'd originally let on. It was seeing the name and having the time to realize where she had seen it from that triggered the memories from the d'Artois family board. How the members of her familial line had debated in joining others of their kind in the hunt for the blood thief. Madison had meant to find the blood thief first. To try and keep the peace between at least the family that she currently belonged to and the woman before her but by the time she had been able to start, Dawn had already been attacked by Tytonidae if Madison's memory served her well. After that she had simply forgotten.
"In regards to your wanting to know what I wanted to speak about, well...I'm curious to how you came about your condition," Madison shifted as she spoke, settling back into the couch. Relaxing some but maintaining interest and the ability to get up quickly if needed. A thought came to her mind and it seemed logical in the case that Dawn had fed recently. Drawing up her powers, Madison neutered the blood thief's ability to use any that she may have obtained through feeding. The mind block would hold for the next two hours, giving the women plenty of time to talk.
"Excuse my intrusion of your mind but I've always been a believer of the saying 'better safe than sorry'. Perhaps it is something you should be more careful of as well. There was no way in hell I would ever invite someone of my current condition to sit with me, alone, when I was a human blood thief."

Dawn blinked for a moment at the woman's words before she gave a slight nod, she was curious as to what she had wanted to say and so when she was relaxed and the woman continued to speak to her, asking her about her condition, she had to stop and think about the answer to that. Which condition did she mean exactly? She was sure that the confusion showed on her face because moments later, the girl was talking about once being a blood thief before she was human Dawn nodded for a moment. However, before she could talk, she felt something come over her, of course the powers she had at the time weren't mental in the least bit, still she just gave a little nod.
"I don't blame you, you don't know me at all, I would want to protect myself if I could too. As for my condition. I have been labeled a blood thief for a while now, I have sort of lost track of time. Especially with always being sent to the ER with the beatings I got in the past. That said, I have been a vampire my entire life. At least, that's what the doctor's and my parents have told me." She said as she relaxed a bit more, looking over the woman. "Most, if not all vampires I believe would rather seem me burning in the sun than within one of their ranks though. Other blood thieves I tend to stay away from, last thing I need is to be gang banged again for being seen with someone I shouldn't." She said with a slight shrug of her slender shoulders.

A manicured brow raised into her forehead as Dawn stated that she had always been a vampire. That her doctors and parents had told her such. Perhaps the girl was daft. Madison had known before turning about people who claimed to be vampires. Humans that drank the blood of their fellow man and avoided the sun. An extreme sort of cos-play or live action role-playing. Now that she knew that vampires were real, she looked at those humans as though they were just insane or misguided. If they knew what really hid in the shadows at night, perhaps they wouldn't indulge in such bizarre practices and enjoy the life they had.
"You are no vampire," Madison began, "Your heart beats like a human, you could consume human food if you wished it, you can go out into the sunlight and you can die with no hope of returning. You are very much mortal. A blood thief perhaps but as a 'survivor' of sorts of the attempted blood thief genocide, I can assure you that blood thieves die very much like humans do."
A blood thief claiming to be a vampire. It probably happened more than Madison liked to think. She had Robert when she'd been made a blood thief so she knew the differences between vampire and thief. Those who didn't have a real flesh and blood vampire in their lives, the telepath could understand how the human psyche might believe that they were indeed a type of vampire.
This one. Dawn Chekov. She was probably lucky she was in the public eye. It was more than likely the only thing that had kept vampires from killing her outright, unless they were really that sloppy to have so many botched attempts. Madison wondered what the woman before her had told the police every time she got sent to the emergency room.
"Do you have a regular donor?" Madison asked curiously, "It's unlike vampires to just ignore a blood thief who has made themselves known unless they go underground. The stealing of blood is an extreme offense to most."
