Another path (Robert Pratt.)

Post by Cherry Worthington »

Lost in her own world again. Cherry found herself not feeding, not even speaking to her kids. It felt like an eternity before she woke up and when she did she stumbled around the house. Looking at her animals she saw that someone had walked and fed them. Frowning she held her stomach and knew she had to leave before she feasted on her animals.

Slipping into one of her many hoodies she went outside and gorged herself on humans and blood packets. Sending a mass text to her friends and family she simply said she was back then went back to her home and played with her animals.

Laying back she started to day dream of everyone that had been in her life. And now she looked and saw how many were left. Feeling rather annoyed she looked at her phone then threw it across the room. Getting up she leashed Whitley a four month old King Charles Spaniel, and Hime a orange akita. Leaving her rabbit she walked both dogs then brought them back in. Unleashing them she patted them and left again.

With her hoodie up and hiding her face she did what came natural to her. Moving silently she held her hand out and started pickpocketing everyone around her. Grinning she started to move fast then took off running. When she was a few feet away she watched as a man saw his wallet had disappeared and looked at her. Giving chase she took off running and dived around a corner.

Robert was out in the city heading from the printers with more leaflets and booklets for Solace. He'd changed the cover art on the booklet and he was very pleased with what he'd managed to come up with and how the printers had put his thoughts into print. There was finally a smile on his face, after his hellish month, and he was wondering how many more people he could convert to Lux and IS, or help in Solace, from these leaflets. However, he couldn't help but wonder who had said that life began at 40, because so far - he'd had pretty much nothing but endings. The box was clutched to his chest as he walked down the street, wondering where to hand them out first - when a girl came charging around the corner at speed and crashed right into him.

He stumbled backwards, tripped over a crack and fell backwards to land on his ***. Meanwhile, the force of the impact had crushed the box and as he fell, his arms went back to catch himself and the flyers and pamphlets went everywhere. They danced and blew about in the breeze, some running off down the street as if on a mission - and he groaned.

"What on earth are you doing?! Not looking where you're going.... Look what you've done!"

He pulled his legs under himself to roll onto his knees, scrambling to collect the leaflets before they all vanished off down the road and just hoped that the box would hold them all again.

Picking up speed the wind blew her hoodie back and her blonde hair with streaks of blue could be seen by everyone one. Shouting could be heard from the man she had just stolen from and she couldn't help but smile. Whipping around the corner she thought she had gotten away with it when she hit a man. Seeing papers flying she cringed slightly and patted him on the head. "Sorry dude! My bad! See ya!" Poofing from sight she teleported and was found in the middle of a field.

Walking out she looked around then sat down. A smile began to form on her lips then she fell back and started to laugh. If this happened when she was still a human she surely would of been caught. Holding her stomach she couldn't help but laugh at both of the fools. Opening her hand she smiled and started to read both men licenses. Gasping she saw a name she knew from when she was in fifth and also in shadow realm. Fighting with herself she picked up her phone and called. Listening to the ringing she left a brief message. "Yo Rob! Its uhhh Cherry. I have your wallet. Call back when you get this. Or just go to Cherrydale ill be waiting by the station which ever dude." Hanging up she left the field and sat down and watched people pass by her.

He felt a hand on his head, and as he turned around to look at the girl - she vanished into thin air..... Someone else had come around the corner as she'd vanished and was now standing staring at the space where she'd been seconds before. He turned to look at Robert, who was looking at him and just goldfished for a moment before going 'huh?'. Robert just shrugged his shoulders and looked away, collecting the rest of his papers that the inconsiderate vampire had knocked everywhere. He'd lost who knew how many to the wind, and he wasn't impressed in the slightest. However, he'd not managed to see who she'd been as it had all happened far too quickly. Finally, he had everything back in the remains of the box that he could and was back on his feet again. The man was waffling on about the police he'd called, that Robert should stay around to give a statement - but Robert was having none of it.

Quickly, Robert made his apologies and then vanished into the crowd that had begun to form to listen to the man's rantings about people vanishing into thin air. Merging in and vanishing to become just a face in a crowd was a very useful skill he had, and it wasn't long before he was well away from them all. He couldn't help but shake his head at the girl and wonder how long it would be before the cowards in Tyt would hunt her down and slaughter her. If she'd stuck around, then perhaps he'd have been able to help her out, protect her, teach her. But she'd run away and vanished without a name - and he'd no way of reaching her.

He continued on his way a few streets when his phone rang. Trying to swap the papers from one arm to the other, he got himself all mixed up and in a kafuffle - so by the tie he managed to reach his phone it had stopped ringing. Grumping and huffing a bit - he really wasn't having a good night - he made his way over to a bench and dumped everything onto it as the voicemail tone went off. Pressing the right buttons, he pulled up the voicemail and listened to it, patting himself down to try and find his wallet. Realising it wasn't there he sighed again. At least it was someone he knew who had it, and he guessed he must have left it behind in the printers. There wasn't much point in calling back as he'd need to meet up with her to get his wallet anyways - so Cherrydale it was.

Looking around, he made sure no-one was looking at him and then tomed off out of there and back to Solace. He put all of the pamphlets in the store room and locked the door behind himself, having a bit of a chat to those who were milling about and helping out where he could. Finally, he was able to leave again and wondered about the best way to get to Cherrydale. He could teleport there, but that could leave him open to detection. He had no idea if there'd be anyone around when he appeared, and if there was then he'd be screwed. Tyt, and others, were always just looking for an excuse to kill him again - and he was doing everything he could not to get caught in what he was doing. So, train it was.

An hour later, he was pulling into Cherrydale station and stepping off onto the platform. He wandered around and checked all of the platforms, the waiting area and then headed outside to look for the pink haired girl he remembered. Not seeing her immediately, he reached out to her mind.

"Cherry? I'm here. Where are you exactly? I can't see you."

And then he just stood and waited with his phone in hand. There was no point in wandering anymore, as he had no idea where she was and he could end up walking in completely the wrong direction.

Humming she looked through Robert's wallet and saw business cards, phone numbers and other things of that nature. Pulling out his money she counted it then stacked it neatly with small bills first then the larger ones last. This was a habit that she did when she was bored. Taking out the other man's wallet she saw credit cards, photo of a naked woman and a packet of cheap cologne. Shrugging she didn't feel bad for the dude and in fact she glad she stole from him. Guys like him made her mad as they were as cheap as the packet of cologne.

Leaning back she looked up and watched everyone get off the train. Looking away for a moment she stuffed the wallets into her hoodie then looked back and saw no one. Getting up she looked around then heard Robert voice in her head. "The hell!" Blinking a small group stared at her. "Telepaths! Their annoying. Sorta. Kinda. Leave me alone." Sticking her tongue out the group huddled together then left quickly. Rolling her eyes she went inside and started looking around. Pausing she stepped up on a cement block that had flowers planted inside it. Looking out it wasnt long before she spotted him.

Jumping down she walked over and started to feel bad. Why though? She shouldn't feel bad, she had always stolen even from her love ones. Blowing the thought off she slowed down then stood in front of him. Pulling out his wallet she held it out. "Sup dude. Long time no see. Uh. Here..." She pushed back her blue hair only to feel it fall again.

He spotted her right before she reached him and he smiled. As the wallet was offered to him, he took it and nodded.

"Thank you Cherry"

And without checking inside it, he simply pocketed it. If she'd taken his cash then she'd taken his cash. She was obviously in need of it and he wouldn't begrudge her it. He looked around and saw a small group of people, that was slowly getting larger, pointing at them and whispering amongst themselves. He looked from them, back to Cherry and frowned, keeping his voice low.

"Cherry, think hard. What have you done, while you were waiting for me? Did you use your powers, or do or say anything.... supernatural?"

He didn't wait for her to answer though, he simply put his arm around her shoulder and started to walk her away from the station and out into the street. If her teleportation earlier was anything to go by, she wasn't shy about making a spectacle of herself. He didn't pause as he guided her through the streets, not until they were a number of blocks away and down an alley towards the wilderness. It would look dodgy as all hell to anyone looking, but there were a few 'pros' who hung out around here so it wouldn't look too out of the ordinary. He paused in silence for a moment, and when he was sure there no footsteps following them, he relaxed and looked down at her.

"So, I guess we need to have a chat about not being quite so...... I'm sorry, I have to say it, but, stupid. Are you looking for Tyt to come down and smoosh you again, repeatedly?"

Well she did teleported and also brought up telepaths to a group of random strangers. Not thinking about tyt she had almost forgot about them. Biting her lip she shrugged her shoulders then laughed at how he worded his sentence to her. "You can be blunt to me. Im uh used to it. And yeaaa I did a few things. Oh well I hear its nice down there this time of year." Of course she spoke of shadow realm. Looking around she felt comfortable where they were. She looked at the near by buildings and could call them home. Growing up she lived in crappy little apartments and not so grand neighborhoods. It wasn't until her mother met david that they really had a nice place.

Looking at him she could see a difference in him. Though Robert was always different she could see the toll of what Tyt and the shadow realm had done to him. "You look good, I have to say its been a long time." Yes she lied but she just wanted to make him feel good and also have him not worry about her. She always had a plan brewing in her mind.

He just looked at her in disbelief as she responded in such a blasé manner. He couldn't help it, his recently refound fatherly instincts kicked in and he lifted his hand and smacked the back of her head.

"No. The Realm of Shadows is not nice this time of the year. It is never nice, and you should never want to go there by being killed. Horrible, horrible things happen down there and lurk down there, just waiting for people like you to enter their lair to destroy who you are!"

He frowned down at her, totally disapprovingly and just like a father might.

"It has been a long time, too long. Looks like you've fallen off the right path in the time since we've been parted! Why don't you come to Solace with me just now? We'll get you cleaned up. Give you a room of your own to call home. A job even if you like? Get you sortde, because.... well.... you look like a street urchin!"

Her head hunched forward and she brought her hand up to rub the back of her head. Scrunching her nose she just took the hit. "Job? I have a job I work for Enver at his boat store. Call him! He'll tell ya!" She gave a nod even though she hated that place, but it paid her one bill which was her pets.

Rolling her shoulders she looked at him and waved her hand, she was dismissing his invite. "Naw, im good. I have a home I dont need a bed. I haven't needed one in a long time."

He just continued to frown, looking down at her.

"Then what do you want, or need?"
