“The fact we agree on that is disturbing.” She stated to Enver as he spoke up from the backseat, Every’s hazel eyes moving to Emilee before she substained rolling her eyes. It was easier for the woman to be in California, not in her car. Not in Harper Rock. “You made it clear to Enver, Emilee, and he passed along the message late.” Admittedly, the woman did not like surprises. The last surprise she had gotten was the night that she turned a corner and found herself staring at an impossibly tall man, and then she received a cracked skull. Chuckling a bit at the memory, she lifted her hand off the steering wheel and rubbed at the back of her head.

When Emilee put down her mirror, Every’s hazel eyes snapped immediately to the rearview and looked for him – she knew about the curse allurists had before reaching up to adjust that she, too, would not have the mirror pointed in her own direction. Turning her back to the road, she tried to resist the urge to lean against the wheel and beat her head against it. “A microwave?” She glanced at her great aunt, no longer wondering if the distance between the families had been a bad thing.

Upon hearing Emilee clear her throat, the brunette paid no mind other than to smile sweetly at the woman beside her, “There are some cough drops in the glove compartment if you’d like one.” And then look over her shoulder to give a pointed glare at Enver. “As I mentioned before, Malaysian.” Her eyes returned to Emilee for a moment, and then to the road. She considered hitting him with the chair again at the next red light before closing her eyes and avoiding the urge to exhale heavily. “Enver, why don’t you think about another place as I’m driving as I’m sure you prefer something else? Something you and your mother would like as I already have somewhere else to be this evening for dinner. Isn’t there some Italian restaurant in Wickbridge?”

It was more subtle than “to hell with driving you around unless you’re paying for my gas, Enver” which had been what she wanted to say.

She waved her hand as if dismissing them both, because she knew she was right and they were just being, well, being moany kids. She'd made it clear she wanted to see them over Easter, and here or in LA, it didn't matter. Seeing them was exactly what she was doing, so how they were surprised and put out by this was beyond her. However, the reply of blood pudding had her stomach flipping with nausea and she really didn't think she'd be able to hold it down. She also ignored the cheeky comment from Every about the microwave, as she'd obviously been talking about the room itself - as in the kitchen - where there wasn't enough space to cook. Not the actual microwave itself.

"Why thank you Every dear. How very 'polite' of you, but I wouldn't want to ruin my palate before dinner so I will turn down the offer of a cough drop."

She glanced at Every, smiling again and nodded her head.

"I'm fine with Malaysian. I'm sure there's something that's not too spicy for me. I just want a nice evening with my family is all. And you both know the city where I don't."

And with that, she left it up to them and waited to see where she'd be eating.

Enver couldn't help but roll his eyes at both the women he was stuck with in a car. Being along with one woman who wasn't his wife was a task, but make it two and it started to feel like a chore. Especially when they were making subtle snarky comments at the other, but just subtle enough to not seem snarky.

"Well great. You're here now and Easter is only in a few days, so we can get the ball moving and then you can head back to California. Where the restaurants are a hall of a lot better here and the people are a lot more friendlier. Trust me." He nodded his head, looked out the window to make sure they were going in the general direction they were supposed to be and then tried to relax in the car.

"So who's running the company while we're both away?" Enver asked, suddenly concerned about his old man's investment. Not because he and his father were close, but because he wanted to make sure Abigail wouldn't undermine the company and leave his mom or him out of what was rightfully there's and had worked hard on maintaining for the last half year or so. If that woman didn't have a kid, it's be half tempting to bring Keara to California and release his wife on her.

"And yeah, that place your friend owns is fine. Can get Italian anywhere. And not all of it is the same or real Italian either." Enver circled back to the topic of food, indicating he did have an opinion on things and would get them to just get to a place, eat dinner and get on with their night.
