What A Childe Should Do [Mora]

Post by Olive »

Olive sat straight up. She was on the floor in the morgue, fully clothed, feeling rather clammy and cold which was weird for a vampire to feel. She groaned and shifted, pushing herself up to one foot, then the other, finally standing and stretching her back out by bending backwards with her hands on her hips. She shook her head vigorously, making her cheeks shake with an odd flubbering sound, giving a half a shiver as she cleared her throat.

"Well that was ******* weird. Did someone kill me?" She asked out loud, then furrowing her eyebrows. No, she didnt have any other wounds than the one she never lost from the night she had been turned... if she had been killed she was sure she would have had other ones just the same.

Yet here she was, freshly returned from the Shadow Realm. And without explanation, too. She frowned at first, then realizing she still had everything she had accidentally slipped into the SR with on persons, a slow sly grin spread over her lips. Fadewalk. She had learned to fadewalk, and as much as a shockingly odd place the SR had actually turned out to be, she couldnt help but be proud of herself for learning yet again another new power.

She was continuously growing stronger, learning more and more, and it was showing in how diligently she was training with the wraiths. She closed her eyes and drew a deep breath, the action itself only habit as she took in the scents of her surroundings. Scrunching her nose at the clear scent of death and decay, Olive choked out a laugh. "Yeah, maybe that wasnt such a good idea, getting a wiff of the real world in here." She chuckled quietly to herself as she made for the door, the exit, stepping outside onto the pavement that held the moons glow like a dull glow worm in a dark cave wall.

Chocolate hues swam along it, then up to the sky, dancing along star to star as she grinned to herself. But then as if something wasnt right, she concentrated hard, trying to ascertain what exactly it was that was nagging at her. She sighed and pulled out her tome - this wasnt the place to do what she was about to do. Toming back to Cai's crypt - where she had been when she had so rudely fallen into the Shadow Realm - she climbed up on top of one of the stone coffins and sat indian style, crossing her legs neatly before closing her eyes and calling to her childer one at a time.

She had a few she wanted to see, even the sleeping ones, but for some reason the only one that appeared was Lennore, slumbering of course - but in the flesh no doubt. Olive chewed on her bottom lip. What the **** was going on? She grumbled, shifting on the stone casing for the dead body inside, closing her eyes and concentrating on Mora this time. She prayed silently inside that Mora would come to her, unharmed; that everything was okay with the one woman who was more to her than anyone else left in the world up to date.

The loss had been great, She'd felt the string break between those she had sired, the silent ones - and the ones who had she assumed were quite loud. Mora had been in her apartment, tending to her plants. She had left Cai's apartment to do this. This was where she always was nice, residing within his crypt. Lounging about his ritual alter. It was comforting, every now and again she'd leave to grab some of her plants that she needed or to water them.

The watering can fell from her grasp as it hit the ground with a loud clang. The water spilled on the wooden floor. A choke escaped her lisp as she staggered backwards clutching a hand to where her heart should be beating, but wasn't.

She no longer felt a connection to Augustana. The vibrant young woman who cared so much for Josslin, she went to visit her parents. She warned her she could did and no longer come back if she left the safety net that was Harper Rock but now she had died the true death. She knew it.

Dwayne was the next one. The man who claimed to be her husband, whom she'd known before she had forgotten everything. Her soulmate he had said, childhood friends. He was gone. Yes, even with memory loss she barely knew him but knowing he was gone - forever hurt, it hurt so bad that she began to cry. She didn't know why she cried, but it felt right to mourn him, and August.

Mora felt a tug then. She'd felt this tug before. She had gardening gloves on her hands she had dropped her gardening tool to the wooden floor in time for her whole body to be summoned, her body zipped and zoomed through the air as she's was dropped in front of Olive. The woman sat in a cross legged position on a stone coffin. Mora realised she was back in Cai's Crypt. With him no where to be seen.

"He's dead." She said to Olive wiping the stray tears from her eyes. "Dwayne has died the eternal death."

Olive grinned as her sire was suddenly in front of her, the blonde that the firecracker had grown to love incredibly easily standing there paler than usual. Olive herself looked better - not half as pale as she used to - almost like the shadow realm had given her a half a tan - and she had no idea why. She even felt a little more vibrant, as if her skin had a certain glow to it - even though it really didnt - it did manage to look all around healthier.

She blinked. Her grin instantly danced its way off her face, and her body was suddenly moving on auto pilot, shifting her way swiftly off the coffin and past her snoozing childe who was rested up against it comfortably, immediately reaching out and pulling her sire in for a soft but hard embrace. Wrapping the woman up in her arms, Olive couldnt help but to shush the woman, trying to soothe her as best as she could before her jaw set. The fact that her sire was crying meant that she was hurting. And whoever hurt her sire, would hurt themselves in that Olive would never let them forget it.

Death. Well ****. She could fadewalk to them though, she thought, but then her brow creased. Eternal death. What did that mean? Did that mean that she wouldnt ever be able to see her slumbering childer again? Braeli even? She frowned. Well ****. The day was turning out to be quite an odd adventure for her, including the snowball of emotions that turned and twisted her stomach up in knots the more and more she felt them. She didnt like it. Why couldnt she just kill something and that be the end of it? No, this situation would take a lot more finesse than just the hardened steel of a forged sword. It would take care, consideration, and reassurance. All of which Olive knew she was more than capable as well as willing to give Mora. She would have given Mora the world if she could have. But right now, all she could do was console her. Be there for her as best as she could.

Her hand smoothed down and up the womans back slowly, fingertips gently applying a little more pressure than the palm of her hand as she sighed and gave one final squeeze before letting her go, only to pull back just enough to look into those beautiful jade moss eyes of Mora's. They were sparkling with tears, and Olive gave Mora the most apologetic saddened smile she could muster as she reached up and wiped the womans cheeks with her thumbs gently against the smooth skin. "It'll be okay sire... I'm sure they are in a wonderful place now." Yeah. That sounded good. She glanced off to the side, and gave her lips a pursing before looking back and giving a nod to Mora.

How does one handle true death while being immortal?

The arms came around Mora quickly and she allowed the comfort as she herself struggled to push the tears away from her eyes. Grief was a humane emotion, something vampires felt. Some would vampires felt no emotion but Mora couldn’t quite comprehend how you could turn off all emotions, feeling was just that –feeling-. If you didn’t feel then you couldn’t live. Vampire or not. The hand on the spine of the back was comforting, it was comforting enough to still the flow the tears.

“Things will be alright. All wounds heal in time, no matter the odd relationship me and he had – even now I don’t understand it. I hope he’s moved on to a better place.” She nodded her head, her golden hair bobbing on her shoulders, settling there as she turned her mossy green orbs to the sleeping grandchilde. She laughed and moved towards Lennore, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

“Seems you summoned her at the wrong time she was probably tucked up in bed.” She laughed again. It was quiet, but genuine non the less. She turned to Olive again and asked; “Where’s Braeli – seems you were on a summon spree.” She asked. Braelie was her newest grandchilde – a childe to Olive. She was adorable, when she had seen her speak on the Daradasi CrowNet.

Her eyes looked around the apartment then looking for any signs of Cai but there was none so she turned back to Olive, inhaling the scent of.. death. She raised an eyebrow and moved a little in towards her firecracker and took another whiff. “You smell of Death.” The comment wasn’t meant harshly, it was laced with curiosity. Had Olive just killed someone? She didn’t know the woman was capable of killing other vampires.

Olive had tried to summon Braeli. She tried twice, in fact, and couldnt, before successfully summoning Lennore. It made her sad to not see the brunette bombshell in front of her. She sighed and shrugged. "I dont know, I guess she is gone too." She silently remembered the night she had found Braeli, the woman being prey to A feral in the middle of a parking lot, clearly sloshed. Olive had scared the feral away from the drunken brunette, but not until after it had effectively ripped her throat out. Olive sighed, kicking her chuck against the dusty floor of the catacomb. "I had plans for her, too. Oh well." She shrugged, nothing she could do about it now. Maybe she would come back, at some point. Maybe Braeli hadnt endured the true death - but rather was just taking a hiatus in the shadow realm.

Eyebrows raised as her sire sniffed her. That was a new one. Olive gave her sire an odd look, brown hues intensified by furrowed eyebrows that dipped down to show just how odd the action was of her to do. Then it dawned on her was she was talking about, and Olive couldnt help but grin. "Oh! Right! I fell into the Shadow Realm yesterday. Found a way out today. Weirdest thing ever." She explained, dusting herself off as if to shake the feeling of still being cold and clammy on the floor of the morgue where she had woken up.

"I wouldnt reccomend going there if you dont have to. Its so... dark. And dismal." She shook her head, her eyes going distant for a second before pinpointing on Mora again. "Weird, you can smell that on me." She grinned then, playfully pushing her sires shoulder, "One of a kind Mora. I swear, Im the luckiest childe alive." She chuckled and pulled Mora in for another hug.

Mora was the sort of person you could read well, she was as you’d call an open book – her emotions and feelings usually there on the table in front of the other. She never hid her feelings. Now in front of her, her pain subsiding within the company of her childer she smiled. Olive had always been a soothing entity to her, something she appreciated. Mora was smiling, appreciating when Olive began speaking of slipping into the shadow realm, she had never been there willingly – twice against her will, one during a war – the other when she was a fledgling and was killed for violations. That was a hard time for her, she was sure she lost her mind then. The black, the dark it drove her crazy.

“Are you hurt?”

Was her first question.

“Did anyone send you there?”

She had forgotten that fadewalkers could slip into the realm of their own free will, she panicked though – for Olive, a sense of loss within her. If anyone had hurt her firecracker. She eased slightly when she spoke of suggesting not to go there, how it was dark and dismal she nodded her head. She agreed with Olive on that one, it wasn’t a place you ever want to go to, you’d be insane to enjoy it there.

“I’ve been there twice, against my will – killed.” She added, she wasn’t sure if Olive knew of that but shrugged non the less. She smiled looking down at the sleeping Lennore. “Shall we put her into a bed?, and you look tired yourself babe.” She added hugging the woman back and giving the woman a firmer hug and leading her to where the sleeping form of Lennore lay. She looked so peaceful – no stress, content and happy.

Olive laughed. She shook her head, no, she wasnt hurt. "Thats the first thing I thought too. But I dont have any wounds aside from the usual." She pointed to her chest, not losing the eye contact really because of it, "I wasnt killed. It just kinda happened on accident. I was thinking about it, and what it would be like while taking a break over there at the crafting bench in fact. One second I'm holding computer parts, and the next I'm looking like some wraith in this crazy place. **** was weird - like another alternate dimension or something." She chuckled, slicking a hand through her mohawk that returned instantly back to its upright position as usual.

Olive blinked. She had no idea that her sire had been to the realm. She thought for a moment on the word she used; war. There were wars in Harper Rock? That surprised her; she never imagined that the vampire race would go so far as to fight amongst itself. Then again, being immortal, she could see how vendettas spanning and lasting for a hell of a long time. She shrugged then, snapping out of her thoughts as she replied with her signature chuckle and then a nod. "Yeah I think its about that time for us to turn in." She smirked, knowing that her sire got just as tired during the day like she did made her feel that much more in tuned with the woman she had come to trust and adore.

She looked around, Cai wasnt there, and there was only one bed. "Maybe summoning her wasnt the best idea." She laughed, "I got this." As she walked over to Lennore, picking the woman up and drapsing her over her shoulder only to move to the bedroom and flop her down on the bed. Surprisingly, the actions didnt even wake the woman and Olive was thankful. Though she wouldnt have minded seeing Lennore awake, she didnt want to fully disrupt her. Olive yawned. She pointed to the bed, "She doesnt bite, hard." She jested, offering Mora the other half of the bed.

Mora found herself laughing at the explanation of being a ghost wraith as she described. She nodded her head, when she was in the realms she never realised what her body was like she just remembered the distinct feeling of guilt but she didn't dwell on it, actually she didn't dwell on much anymore. She was learning to let go of the past let bygones be bygones. Though there were grudges she'd hold but those were her dark thoughts, the thoughts she never let surface I'm front of others. There was also that suppressed insanity she had that came alongside with Telepaths. She did one hell of a job keeping that locked away, what would Olive think if she saw the insane side of Mora?

She found herself looking around the apartment for any sign of Cai but there was none just as Olive scooped up Lennore into her arms and carried her to the bed before dropping her down into the sheets. Olive got in beside her and offered the other half to Mora.

She got in without hesitation pulled the cover over her slim form she left enough space for Cai, if he chose to come to bed from wherever he was. A raid perhaps, or with Tate. She didn't mind. Though, she would have loved to see his face when he saw three women in his bed. The sun had an effect on Mora. She always slept when it rose unable to fight it. She'd always been this way, beside the amount if crying she'd done already tonight she'd be dead to the world, literally.

"Goodnight, babe." She muttered before falling asleep.
