<Jersey> The day was slow, but that was something that Jersey had learned to enjoy at work after it sometimes got so busy that her feet hurt when she came home. Sitting in her chair behind the counter, the blonde looked up as customers came in and smiled before setting her magazine aside, stretching out her long legs and then she wandered over to a woman with her daughter. "Can I help you with anything?" She questioned, inclining her head partially as she gave a warm smile.
<Meluiwen> The girl was followed by a disgruntled looking man, who obviously was playing babysitter against his desire. It wasn't so much the 'babysitting' portion. As it was it drove him insane how her obliviousness caused him trouble. Always having to remember to put sunscreen on her and a cloak to go out because she never remembered herself. The girl herself looked up at the direction of the voice. Shockingly blue eyes that showed the traces of red veins behind them. When the man took the cloak off and handed her the empty bottle, porcelain skin became obvious, and snow-flake white hair. She moved over to the woman and two hands reached out to try and take the woman's face so she could lean in and see it better, "This." She let go to sit an empty bottle of lavander scented hand moisturizer.
<Jersey> As the woman and her daughter walked away after Jersey had aided them, she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear and ran her tongue over her lips to wet them lightly. Making a mental note when she went back to her spot to get out her lip balm, she turned in surprise as the scent of the females blood washed over her under her skin. There was mild disgust at herself as she found the other woman too close for comfort. Rather than retreat a bit from the distance, Jersey gave a nod of her head and looked at the bottle, "Just the lotion? Or can I interest you in anything else?" She asked. After a few moments, and consiously paying attention to the speed at which she moved, Jersey collected the bottle and moved towards the shelf it was carried at.
<Meluiwen> The girl stared for awhile before a large, sweet, warm smile spread across her face. The woman hadn't looked at her strangely or cringed away from her touch. She followed the woman like a duckling, "You... sunscreen... have?" She didn't like the chemical smell of the brand of sunscreen her caretaker got her. She liked sweet, gentle scents. Her eyes drifted from the woman back to her caretaker. More directly, the doll he held. She took the doll that was only about a foot shorter than her, "You want? Don't like, though." She was holding a discussion about scents with her doll, yes.
<Jersey> She thought about it quietly, wondering if she could speak to her boss about making some as she gave a gentle shake of her head, "I'm afraid we don't... but I can see if we can make some." The blonde looked through the bottles quietly, alternating between glancing at the one in her hand and the others on the shelf. Finding what the girl had been asking for, Jersey collected it and turned only to blink as she watched the exchange. The telepath inclined her head slightly, listening. Never one to judge others, she moved over to the two and held out the bottle of lotion.
<Meluiwen> "Why do you want? Skin is clay, silly." She sighed, like she was defeated by the doll's seemingly non-existent discussion with her. She held the doll that was only about a foot shorter than her by the arm, it stood next to her. She stared at the lady, "Need. He says need firm scent." She took the bottle and waited to see what the lady could produce that would have the strong scent the spirit was wanting.
<Jersey> Her green eyes blinked owlishly as she considered the people that she had seen talk to themselves in the hospital during her time spent there. Was this woman the same as them? Jersey would certainly share this memory with Peter as she considered, now, what he would say about the small woman in front of her. Her eyebrow went to the unknown man that looked almost bored as he watched the scene transpire. “Firm scent… hm.” Sales were sales, she supposed and she considered the stronger scents in the store as she walked back to the shelves. With the products in the shop, Jersey was glad that everything was natural. After a few moments, she returned with a Lavender Vanilla one that she enjoyed and had been using recently. “What about this one?” She offered, digging out the bottle she had poured some of her own into to use as a sampler.
<Meluiwen> “That… in body washer?” She was trying to ask if they had the Lavender Vanilla in a Body wash for the shower, but her articulation wasn’t very good. But then she seemed focused back to what the doll wanted, rather than what she wanted, “And. He. No. He. He.” She held the heavy doll up, best she could. She couldn’t understand what the spirit was saying. All he kept talking about was a strong musk. A man’s scent. She didn’t understand, so she could only come with a vague, “His smell!”
<Jersey> She was confused. It was evident on her features as she listened to the woman’s heartbeat; what was she talking about, his smell? Pulling her shirt out a bit, she could smell Peter clear as day, but how could the human? And then she blinked a few more times, and then she went to collect the body wash and slowly looked through the men’s collection. Finding a coconut scented lotion and body wash, Jersey returned and held them out curiously. “These?”
<Meluiwen> Turned her unfocused gaze to the doll standing beside her. The spirit seemed satisfied. What a spirit would want with scented lotion and body wash? Was beyond Mel, as she thought it was the doll being silly wanting it when it wouldn’t be any use on him. She turns her gaze back to the woman and gives a small nod, before her expression turned back toward the doll, “You want … I put it… on grave?” Her caretaker finally intervened, putting a firm hand on Mel’s shoulder, murmuring, “That’s enough, Mel, stop talking. Miss, we’ll take it.” He took the bottle of Lavender hand lotion from Mel to hold out to Jersey so she could ring all the items up.

<Jersey> “On… grave…?” Yes. Peter would be hearing about this as would Kallista. Or maybe just Kallista. Definitely Kallista. Peter would probably not let her go to work after this if she told him… As she thought about it and listened to the woman, Jersey jumped a bit when the man spoke. Her green eyes moved to the firm hand on the strangers shoulder and a frown played across her lips. “You should probably be more gentle with her. She’s small.” The petite blonde collected the items and went back to her counter, beginning to ring things up as she expected them to follow. “That’ll be $30.54 as your total, can I help you find anything else?”
<Meluiwen> The man gave an irritable sigh at the woman’s choice to chastise the way he handled his ward, but he didn’t speak further on the matter. He followed after and dug out his wallet -well, it was her wallet, but he was holding onto it or who knows what else she’d go buy- and held out the credit card. Meanwhile, Mel was off in her own little world, no longer speaking to the doll, but looking at a person who wasn’t there by normal perspective, “Why not say yourself?” She nodded as if whatever reason the spectral being said made sense before she ran over to where the other two were, lithe arms that looked like toothpicks, that could be snapped in half easily, reached out for the woman, “Umhhh. Granny.. Granny loves… Loves…” She looked to the spectral trying to understand the name being said.
<Jersey> “If you sigh any louder, you’ll likely knock over a stack of cards.” She chuckled, sliding a container of mints to the man along with the credit card. Green eyes went back to the woman with a curious expression, her lips falling into a soft frown, “Poor thing. I hope she gets the help she needs.” She murmured softly, not caring if the man heard her or not as she waited for the receipt to print out. Afterwards, Jersey held it out and looked down at her as she came over. Confusion struck once more and silently, she reached out to her beloved’s mind with her own, “If you could come get me after my shift is over, I’d really appreciate it. It has been a really…really strange evening.” After the telepathic message was sent, she pressed her lips together softly. “I’m sure she loves you very much.”
<Meluiwen> “N...No! You. Loves you! She---” Mel was cut off by the man’s hand firmly smacking over her mouth with a glare from him, “Meluiwen! That’s enough of your fairytales.” The girl’s eyes became more glossy, and she shut up like she always did when they lost their patience with her. She held her hand out for the purchased items while the man snagged up the large BJD. Mel mumbled a soft, “Than...k… you….” to the woman, though her eyes weren’t focusing to actually look at what she was reaching for or the woman. Her lips went into a small grimace as she shushed the elderly woman and her doll, “Can’t talk, no more.” The man was barely waiting for the woman to give Mel the sack before grabbing and yanking onto Mel’s arm roughly to try and hurry the girl along.
<Jersey> “Hey, you don’t have to be rude or hurt her. I -will- call security.” The glare that she gave was surprisingly dark. She didn’t get mad often, and to be honest, it was possibly just annoyed at that moment, but there were some things that she did not tolerate. “She isn’t doing anything wrong and she is not bothering me.” Although the truth was, she did not know anything about her own past, particularly her grandmother and family so it did disturb her a little bit. Maybe it made her uncomfortable, but she could adapt to things. Setting the items in a bag, Jersey leaned forward to set them in the other’s hand. “Enjoy your things, sweetheart, and be sure to come back to visit when you’re out. I’ll try to get some nice smelling sunscreen for you.” As the man yanked at her arm, Jersey reached out and grabbed his wrist. “I said do not hurt her.”
<Meluiwen> The man let go and yanked his wrist away from the woman, throwing his hands in the air, “It isn’t hurting her and it’s how her parents instructed her to be cared for, they don’t like when---” The man trailed off for a minute to wrap the cloak around Mel and dug in the teddy bear bag he was holding to squirt some sunscreen on her. He pulled his sunglasses off the top of his head to slide over her eyes to prepare for going back outside, “---she does things that will embarrass them.” He sighed, usually he wasn’t this violent with her, but he was in a bad mood after being lectured by her father for letting her behave shamefully at the last social gathering the rich fucks had. Mel stood there, letting it all be done, her lips curved into a smile as she whispered a silent thank you to the woman. She didn’t like it when the man was mad with her, he was one of the few people who would treat her nicely. And the woman’s speaking up seemed to help him get his head back. She held out her hand to the man and looked back to the woman, though she couldn’t see anything with the sunglasses on, “Will come again.”
<Jersey> She had a feeling Mora would probably be disappointed in her about how she treated one of the customers, but she would be sure to show the woman the memory as Jersey watched him with a clearly unhappy expression. Luckily for her, it was only them in the shop now and she watched them. “I don’t give a rats *** if she was misbehaving, look at how small she is - I’m petite and I know that had you grabbed me like that, I’d probably be bruised.” She didn’t say, at some point. Now she wouldn’t, and if she would, it would heal almost instantly. “And her parents should be ashamed of themselves. Honestly, what kind of man are you for allowing them to have her be treated this way?” She set her hands on her hips, clearly annoyed. Jersey calmed, however, when she looked back to the other and saw her smile. She brushed off the male then, and gave a soft nod of her head, “I hope to see you.”
