Getting in Within The Veil (Verity)

Luke hadn't long been in Harper Rock, or even Canada for that matter. He had come here looking for his cousin who had gone traveling a few years earlier, due to a death in her immediate family, but until he found her he really needed to get a job to support himself while here as he had no idea how long it would take to find her.

Listening to the radio one day, Luke heard a job vacancy being advertised for Within The Veil, so decided to give applying a try. Calling the number pretty much straight away, he spoke to Verity and arranged an interview for the following afternoon, given he had nothing else to do other than look for Kayden, and an hour out of his time for an interview wasn't going to damage that at all. It took a little time, but he managed to find where the shop was on Google Maps, and get directions from the hotel he was staying at until he got his own apartment.

Having had a good nights sleep, taking his time to get ready as he had no other plans that day, at least not before the interview. The thing about Luke is that he always dressed smartly, even if he was wearing jeans he usually had a button up shirt on, possibly even a tie, but not always, and a smart shoes. Today he was wearing brown leather shoes, blue jeans, with a pale blue shirt and a black tie, and after some thought, he picked his grey office jacket over a coat or other outside jacket.

It took him about thirty minutes to get to where he needed to be from where he was staying, the public transport wasn't too bad here. He could have just gotten a cab, but he didn't want to spend money he didn't need to spend. Arriving a couple of minutes before one in the afternoon, his interview time, he pushed the door to the store open and stepped in, looking to see if anyone was within view, waiting to greet him.

“Two interviews down. Another to go.”

Her words were to no one in particular as she cleaned up her station once more and set about to looking presentable. Aurelia was finishing out her last day before the latest hire, Shira, started, and was waiting diligently by the door for further instruction while she continued to lazily clean out her desk. Just as her phone buzzed, the alarm going off to alert her that there would be another interview in the coming out, she finished drying off her hands and headed out for the balcony. “Keep an eye out, Aure,” she threw back to the woman over her shoulder, steps confident as she left the room to enjoy the warm, fresh air. “We’ve another interview coming any moment.”

“Yes, Verity,” was the resounding answer, the light echo following her out.

And, that applicant came in the form of a man named Luke. He looked clean cut enough, a bit older than she’d been expecting, but a smile was used to greet him nonetheless. “Welcome to ‘Within the Veil’, where each piece of art we create is unique, no two ever alike. I’m going to hazard a guess that you’re here for your interview with Ms. Dysis?” Only when confirmation was given did she extend her hand. “Ms. Dysis is out on the balcony and you’ll be interviewing out there today,” she confirmed her with a nod. “If you’ll follow me?”

Around a few displays, she led him toward the back, stopping outside of the hallway and gesturing forth. “Straight through here, she’s waiting at the table for you.” Without another word, the woman moved back to her desk, while Verity waited beside her seat, body turned toward the door at the sound of her assistant’s voice resounding from down the corridor. No doubt upon entry, he'd feel the lax nature of the studio, she clad in jeans and a loose shirt while her assistant had been clad in much the same.

"Luke, I presume?" Verity greeted the sound of footsteps as they drew closer, the pair surrounded by bushes and flowers, a simple table in the midst of the slice of nature. "Is it alright if I call you such?"
