Human Thralls.
This came up elsewhere and now I am curious.
Human thralls are supposed to be bewitched by a vampire meaning they are under another's power against their will or so completely enamoured they would do anything the vampire desires.
Well that is according to the meaning of bewitched.
So I am wondering how others see this in regards to their character's thralls and if they aren't slaves then what are they exactly from a RP perspective.

Re: Human Thralls.
I see it as being enamored.
Enver's first thrall was because of who he once was and was a big fan of his and his second thinks he's pretty cool as **** and they've known each other for a while due to Enver's once upon a time use of drugs. So he's more than happy to help Enver out, which is what the thrall thinks he's doing. Since Enver's thrall is on drugs a lot, he's spontaneous and so he doesn't always follow through on things Enver asks him to, or he does them, but half assed, in terms of rp. That's why I said he's not a slave. His drug usage makes him a wild card.
I'd say Liz's thrall is probably more "slave-ish" (for lack of a better word) then Enver's but even still, in terms of rp, she does her own thing, unless beckoned by Liz. On grid, obviously she goes where I make her go.

For Corin's thrall I rp it out that she saved the 13 yr old boy and he started to follow her around. He is like a younger brother to her and she cares for him.
Ami on the other hand she is has always been like why is this guy following me and all that well she was at first now she just kind of ignores him and he does his own thing. She only calls on him when she needs him.

With Alex's, she sees Morgan as a kid sister or a friend. She found her as a junkie and ended up bewitching her to get her of drugs. They are good friends and while I do roleplay that Morgan sometimes will risk her life, I also rp that Alex is super protective of her thrall and will defend her and discourage her from taking risks that will endanger her.
The two have a close but complex friendship and often Morgan is the voice of reason to stop Alexandrea from doing anything that might get her into trouble. Although Alex is not 'anti-masq'. she can be reckless and not always think things through. And Morgan often steps in to get Alex to think before she acts.
They have each other's backs and while most of what Morgan gets goes to Alex, Alex provides everything Morgan could need or what.

Re: Human Thralls.
CC's first thrall was a VERY religious woman who was picketing CC's club. CC enthralled her and made her do all sorts of things that went against the woman's religion to 'punish' her for disrupting her business. The woman had no mind of her own to make her own decisions, but she was still her because you could see the pain in her eyes as she did horrible, horrible things. The after she'd done them - she was like a broken, sobbing woman who wanted to kill herself - but she couldn't because CC had forbidden it.
CC's second thrall has a bit more freedom as he's a bit like CC - professionally. She doesn't need to control him as she needed to control the first - though with CC's personality, she enjoyed torturing the first. It was more than 'needing' to. lol. However, if CC wants him to do something, he again has 0 choice in the matter and her power makes him continue to try his hardest until he succeeds or dies.

Thanks guys. I really appreciate the reponses. =D
So far it seems the pattern is that the thralls are bound to do the vampires bidding whether they like it or not? Like..they cant help but do as asked even if they do retain their own personalities? Or are so enamoued that they would fall over themselves doing whatever is asked of them....yes? >.>

Re: Human Thralls.
I imagined that if the vampire pushed the point, the thrall would indeed do whatever was asked/demanded of him or her. I think that is a choice people weigh out when writing or using them myself. Some thralls, Zodiac's Jennifer for example, has established history within the rp's and it has been documented how the girl was with her when she was alive and past that. So I think it depends on the relationship in play as well. Zodiac would never send Jennifer into something that could mean her life, and had (in rp) enthralled her basically to protect her since she discovered her employer and best friend (Iris) was vampires. There was a real friendship between them that carries on now despite the fact that if push came to shove, Zo could basically say 'do it!' and Jennifer would have no choice but to obey her. But, someone else might treat their thrall as disposable or nothing more than a meat puppet, so again I think its up to the person writing the situation how their thralls actually work.
Just my view.

Doc's thrall.. if he ever succeeds in getting one (Ha!) will have a hero worship complex that Doc will use to his advantage to get him to do anything he wants them to do.

Re: Human Thralls.
I imagined it being a combination of adoration and compulsion. The thrall would retain their personality for the most part and become enamored with the vampire, making them want to assist in most things. On occasions when the thrall is asked to do something that goes too much against who they are (making a cop break the law, making a nun prostitute herself, etc.) the vampire can then force the issue via the bond they share. That's how I plan on playing Granny's when she gets one anyway.

Re: Human Thralls.
Digo doesn't really know it yet, but his thrall isn't under his power. His human uncle is just obeying orders until he can find a way to bring his nephew "back".
What that means in terms of powers, I don't know. Maybe Digo's just isn't working, or maybe there's some other power protecting Vincent...
