Viking Ventures: The Blog Edition
I want to express my deepest apologies to all of my loyal readers for my sudden and lengthy hiatus. You have all been supportive of me and I bailed on you. I especially want to apologize to a dear friend of mine. Not only have I been a horrible friend to this person with my disappearing acts, but she had also given me some of her precious time to further aid in my endeavors. V, I’m sorry for not being the friend you deserved.
Now, I know you’re all not here just to read the emotional stuff I’m blabbering out. So without further ado, I bring you Viking Ventures: The Blog Edition. This article is all about…Art.
Within the Veil
Art: the act of taking something mundane and creating something marvelous. Many people follow the calling of the artist, and here in Harper Rock, is no different. Tucked away on the second floor of Veil Tower is a small shop that specializes in art. The artist, one Miss Verity, can see the beauty in the world through her hands in ways that the eye can never hope to achieve. Verity is the owner of ‘Within the Veil’, a small shop that specializes in clay sculptures. It is here where she immortalizes the world from a modest ball of clay. Her most requested pieces are facial recreations. Her gift of “…taking a moment in time, and immortalize it into something other than a Polaroid. Into something tangible…" is what makes her clients return again and again. Her partner Neil is at home with glasswork as much as he is with woods or metal. Between the pair of them, they have plenty of fine artwork waiting for your discerning eye.
The prices range depending on the size and complexity of the piece they make. It is however, worth every penny. After all as Miss Verity said, "Simply that every piece we sell and create are unique, one-of-a-kind, not mass-produced like you'll find at Pier1. You'll never find another that looks exactly the same, nor will you find something we sell that will resemble another piece. Each one is hand-crafted specifically to fit what the client is looking for, and what they need; The only exception would be if they asked for something almost identical "We want people to know that we'll really listen to what it is you need and require. We value each person who comes through the studio and will work with each person to make sure they get exactly what's asked for. Every time."
So whether you want to capture that special moment forever in clay, add another piece of artisan glasswork to your collection, or even start a collection of metal sculptures, give Verity and Neil at ‘Within the Veil’ a call or even better, stop by the shop in the Veil Tower and meet them for yourself.
