Karema hung her head embarrassed and whispered, “I don’t want to prostitute at all. I never did but I didn’t have any other way to earn money but on my knees or my back. Hopefully with a job and maybe I can find another part-time one and I can be completely honest. I don’t like that kind of work at all. I promise you I won’t bring anything negative to you or your business.”

Biting her lip, Karema tried hard not to giggle at the thought of the elegant woman standing before her ever being called “Madam Zodiac”. She had a feeling they would get more than they bargained for with her. She fished her ID out of her backpack and handed it to the woman. “I don’t think I have record, I better not have a record or I know my first person I’ll drink from.”

She listened as one by one Zodiac answered her many questions and tried to remember all she told her. Zodiac handed her a cookie as they talked and Karema took a big bite from it, chewing it, thinking it really didn’t taste very good but she wasn’t about to insult the woman before her. She took another bite and quickly finished the cookie.

Zodiac continued telling her the dos and don’ts but as she sat there she began to fill sick. Not just sick but like her body was trying to get rid of something in a violent manner. Her eyes grew huge as she mumbled “Oh ****” as she ran for the sink and began to violently vomit everything from her stomach. The cookie, blood and whatever else had been in there. When the spasms finished she laid her head on the sink. “What the hell did you give me?” She cleaned up the mess she made, wiped her mouth and sat down feeling like she wanted to die again.

The girl was a ticking time bomb and did not even know it. It was a harsh lesson to be learned, but one that many did not learn until a moment of weakness took them. Her own experience was less than elegant when she was first turned. Walking through the mall and the scent of her favorite food-pizza-assaulted her now heightened sense of smell. It had never smelt so good before. She sat at a table wolfing down two slices and a cup of iced tea before her new state of existence sent the entire mess all over the table in front of a crowd.

When Karema cursed, Zodiac simply thought
"Ding!" as the 'bomb' went off. She followed the girl and patted her back as she upchucked into the sink.

"Just let it happen. Let it happen" she whispered in a comforting voice while patting her back. Once Karema had taken a seat, the mystic sat across from her as she pulled another cookie from the jar and held it like an example.

"What did I give you? Just a cookie. No potions, charms, hexes, or man made poisons in it. Just what is supposed to be in a cookie. Another fact about your new lifestyle. Food and drink is gone. Trying to consume anything that is not blood will make you do what you just did and I know from experience how horrible that feels. Better to get that fact in your head now then find yourself somewhere truly high profile or a major security risk and suddenly be spewing food and blood all over for mortals to see. Now allurists can eat to a degree, but not major portions. Don't ask me what happens to it after they eat it, cause I have yet to discover an allurist using a toilet for what it was invented for."

She reached across the table and patted the girl's hand in sympathy. "Best get it in your head now that I am the kind of mentor that will let you get your fingers singed a bit here and there so that you will understand what I am telling you is not ********." She stood up and ran a small glass of water and brought it to the girl.

"Rinse your mouth. Water does not seem to bother us too badly. My guess is, since water is part of what blood is, but don't swallow too much of it. You can bathe, shower, swim, brush your teeth- just try not to swallow the toothpaste, same goes for mouthwash. Now, when you feel more composed, you can clean up a bit and I will give you your first hunting lessons."
Some day I'm gonna be happy. I don't know when just now

Karema laid her forehead on the table and said softly as her stomach threatened to rebel once again at the sight of the cookie she held. “You are an evil, evil person Zodiac!” and weakly laughed. She sat back trying her best not to smell the vile thing she held in her hand. “Don’t worry, lesson learned.”

Walking over to the sink she spit out the water she and swished around in her mouth, cleaned the sink and set the glass down. Sitting back down Karema asked, “So what do you do if you are in a situation where there is food and humans or do you just not get yourself into that situation?”

The thought of eating anything right this minute made her stomach revolt until she thought of blood and the craving began in earnest as her stomach was now empty thanks to her lesson. “That sounds kinda funny, ‘Hunting Lessons’, it’s like we’re on a safari or something.” She smiled a thought hitting her. “What are the odds I will screw up the first feeding and kill them because if it’s probably I know a cop with a tiny little pecker I could practice on.”
