--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
Nelle: Nelle clicked on the mouse button. The computer screen buzzed to life, bright and flashy for a moment before it settled down on a login page. She sighed. Looking over and checking the clock over the doorway, she made note that it was close to the time she had asked Madison to meet her. The woman had sent her a picture to show her what she looked like so Nelle made sure to keep an eye open for the blonde. Her hair was tied up into a messy bun as she picked up her muffin and took a bite. Chocolate chip, with some large grain sugar sprinkled on top. She loved sweets. The way they comforted her. Because she was so nervous; not having a place to live really. Sure, she had a hotel room - but who in their right mind would call that permanent?
Madison: The smartphone on the crafting bench beside her vibrated, shifting its position on the table a small fraction of an inch. Madison ignored it for the moment, deeply engrossed in what she was doing. Her gloved fingertips held the small screw in place as the other hand gently tried to find the best way to reach it without brushing up against other parts that were in her way. It was only when she found the best angle and the screw was snugly where it was supposed to be that she finally looked over at her phone which was now silent with only a small blue LED light blinking near the top of it. Pulling the latex gloves off her hands, she picked up the phone and checked what she believed to be a text message. When she saw that it was in fact the alarm she had set to meet her perspective renter her eyes flew to the digital time-clock on it. It was already six-fifty-seven. She had three minutes to get there! Cursing under her breath, Madison didn't even attempt to put away the trap she was working on. No one in d'Artois would touch it. She grabbed her messenger bag, ran a hand through her hair quickly and concentrated on the alleyway behind the Station Net Cafe to teleport herself there.
The Depot dissipated around her, the dark and dingy alley reforming in front of her eyes. Hitching the bag up on her shoulder, Madison walked around the side of the building and glanced through the windows as she approached the entrance. It was still early in the night and school was still out, plus it was a weekend. Her nose wrinkled as she saw the amount of people. She really didn't like crowds. Taking a few unnecessary but quite needed paced breaths, she opened the door and stepped inside.
Nelle: Ding, dong. The door chimed letting Nelle know that someone had entered. She brought her head up and looked over to the new person, like they were the new kid on a first day of school walking into a cafeteria. She blinked. Some old guy came hobbling in, and she sighed and went back to her computer screen. Scrolling through listing of places, they were all in places she didn’t want to live. Corvidae flats? Who wanted an apartment in a quarantine zone? Surely not her. She shook her head lightly before taking another bite out of her muffin. Looking at it and nodding in approval. She enjoyed the station net's menu items thoroughly. She decided to check her face book after looking down and reassuring herself that her shoulder bag was still on the floor next to her chair.
Scrolling down the page offered its comical relief as she trolled along on the wall of her facebook page. Clicking the 'share' button a couple times, sharing other pages comics and fun pictures. After sharing a couple others like cute cat and puppy pics, she logged out and closed out of the browser page; but not before clearing the history and cookies. Who knew what computer geek trolled through the internet cafe's looking for idiots that trusted the crappy firewall and security settings that the cheap cafe's had put in place. Ding, dong. The door chimed again and she looked again. Almost doing a double take as if she hadn’t expected Madison to be there, Nelle reached and picked up her bag as a soft smile found its way to her lips.
The woman looked every bit as much as her picture that she had emailed her. Blonde and beautiful. She wasn’t her type, but that wouldn’t stop Nelle from admitting that Madison was pretty. She wasn’t beneath that. Standing promptly and swallowing the rest of the muffin down, she wiped her face with her free hand and stepped over to Madison while then wiping her hand on her jeans first before extending it out. "Madison, correct?"
Madison: A few moments after stepping through the doorway, a very pretty blonde woman approached her and offered her hand. Madison smiled at Nelle, taking her hand and giving it a gentle but firm shake as she spoke, "Yes, and you must be Nelle. I hope I haven't kept you waiting long?"
When Nelle let go of her hand, Madison took a moment to look at her closely without making it look like she was staring at her. The blonde woman before her was human despite Madison's initial assumption by the hours that Nelle kept. But there was something different about her that was different than every other human in the room. She couldn't quite put her finger on what it was though. She forced a smile to her face when really what she wanted was to furrow her brow in confusion. The door ding-donged again behind her and Madison looked over her shoulder to see a couple coming in. Scooting out of the way, she guided Nelle along with her by placing a friendly hand at her elbow.
"Sorry about that," she said to the couple and then she looked to Nelle, "Should we grab a seat then? I've got a couple things that I would like to discuss with you and a form for you to fill out."
Nelle: Nodding when Madison mentioned her name to assure the woman she hadn’t just walked up to her out of nowhere for some other ulterior motive, she then shook her head lightly. "No, no, not too long. I had a muffin to tide me over." She smiled a bit wider. Yeah, the muffin had done its job and made her more comfortable. Maybe being full in a situation like this was something Nelle wasn’t used to. Yeah, that was it. It made her feel... cheery. Like she could accomplish anything. And that was good - she needed this place to live. She held Madison's stare for a moment then glanced to the couple behind Madison before they even opened the glass door behind her - watching them come in and shuffling out of the way with Madison as directed at her elbow.
Nelle blinked and nodded, her smile only fading a fraction, her free hand moving to clutch at her shoulder bag as well. "Right, I have some papers for you too." She had hoped that all this would be enough. She had the money - that wasn’t the issue. She just needed to prove it. Nodding at a free table off to the side near the window, Nelle then made her way to it and found her seat after removing her jacket and getting comfortable. Sure, she hadn’t expected Madison, but now that the woman was here she was determined to make sure this went according to plan.
Madison: The pair of blondes took a seat near the window. Madison wasn't one to make a scene in a public place so she didn't say anything about preferring a seat towards the back of the cafe, where she could see everyone around them and the door. While the window allowed her to see what was coming from the outside, she didn't like the fact that people were able to look in and see her. The anxious telepath settled down into the seat anyways, pulling the strap of her messenger bag from her shoulder over her head so it wasn't crossing her chest any longer. She gave Nelle a slightly quizzical look, "Papers for me?"
Shortly after they sat down, a tall and gangly boy around the age of sixteen came over their table. He had a half apron wrapped about his hips and his shirt was partially untucked over the straps. Pulling a notepad from one of the pockets and grabbing a pen that had been hidden behind his ear under his mop of curly brown hair, he looked to Madison first knowing Nelle had already had a muffin and asked her if she'd like to order anything. Madison shook her head politely in a negative fashion, "Just a glass of water for now please? No ice."
The waiter, Bryant on his name-tag, looked over to Nelle, "Anything else for you?"
Nelle: Another nod shook the loose strands of hair gently along her neck as she set her jacket beside her and her bag in her lap. She didn’t elaborate though. She figured she would allow Madison to go first. She could explain from there that she didn’t have a job at the moment though she had plenty of money to pay for the apartment. And the location was good; better than most others being offered so Nelle was ready to pay top dollar for it.
Looking up and over to the young boy that came up to the table Nelle smiled. He was so young, so clean cut, so innocent. Nelle couldn’t help but remember when she was that age. Boys, boys, boys. She smiled and nodded. "I'll have a glass of hot chocolate, the kind with those tiny little marshmallows. Please?" She ended, glancing to Madison, realizing just how much more formal the woman sounded than her. The young boy nodded and didn’t even write anything down as he was confident he could remember that. Besides, she had made it just customized enough that it would stick out in his mind.
Nelle reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and glanced around the cafe with her light blue eyes. It wasn’t packed, but it wasn’t empty either. Nelle looked back to Madison with her smile. "Been getting colder out, that’s for sure." She said, rubbing her arms gently with her hands crossed over to the opposite bicep running them up and down briskly for a moment
Madison: When Nelle ordered a hot chocolate with marshmallows, Madison almost sighed wistfully. If there was anything at all that she missed about being human other than being human, it was chocolate. During Halloween, the bank teller had given her a Hershey's fun size candy bar. Madison had stared at it, debating if those two little bites of chocolate would be worth the amount of retching that would follow. She had even wondered if she could just let it melt in her mouth and then spit it out but she was too afraid that she'd swallow just enough to make her sick. Not being able to eat or drink anything was definitely the worst thing about being a vampire.
Nelle made a comment on the weather and Madison's blue orbs were drawn back to the window. Bits of frost lined the edges of it along both the inside and outside. The contrast in temperature from in and out causing condensation to form in places and in those places, it froze. Madison drew a happy face in the frost with her fingertip and smiled before responding to Nelle, "I don't mind the cold so much but yes, it is getting pretty nasty out there lately. Would be nice if it at least stayed out of the negatives."
Bryant returned with her water and Nelle's hot chocolate, setting both down on little napkins. He asked if they needed anything else before leaving the table to the blonde women at it. Madison moved her water from in front of her, off to the right side so it wasn't in her way. She gave Nelle a small smile before she broke the ice so to speak about the reason of why they were there, "So in your email you said you're living in a motel? I can tell by your accent that you're not from around here. What brought you to Canada?"
Nelle: Watching Madison draw the smiley on the frost bitten window made her grin. It was a cute little face. She remembered doing that on the car windows during long car rides as a kid. So Madison didn’t mind the cold, Nelle couldn’t imagine. She hated it. She wanted to go back to Arizona, but in Phoenix she had been fired for her less than perfect attendance at the news station. And even though there was supposedly work here - decent work that she could stay in her career for - something else had attracted her to Harper Rock. She nodded absent mindedly. Yeah, out of the negatives. Her mind repeated, her eyes looking at the window and pretty much doing everything short of hazing over.
Blinking, she snapped herself out of it, looking back to Madison with raised brows. "Hmm?" She asked, honestly not sure what Madison had asked her. It was a bad habit of hers, to zone out in thought like that, tuning everyone and everything out around her while she dove deep into her own mind. "I'm sorry, I didn’t catch that last part." She admitted, nodding to the young male and reaching for her warm hot chocolate. Yes, that would hit the spot quite nicely.
Madison: It seemed to Madison that she had caught Nelle at a moment where she was lost in her own head. She didn't look to her when she started speaking. Nelle was still looking out the window while Madison tried to talk to her. If she wasn't prone to sometimes doing the same thing, the telepath might have been offended. Instead though, she gave the other woman a soft smile and repeated what she had last said, "I asked what brought you to Canada. Seems we're getting quite the flux from the States lately."
Majority of the vampires that Madison had met and knew weren't from Harper Rock, they weren't even Canadian. The amount of people here from all over the world sometimes made her feel like she was living in a Canadian version of Ellis Island. Sans the island and the Statue of Liberty. She often wondered how many people were living in her country illegally but really didn't care. Laws meant little to Madison before she was turned and meant even less now that she was quasi-immortal.
Nelle: Nelle brought the mug up to her face with both hands wrapped around it. It was hot. Hot. And it felt good on her chilled fingertips. She breathed in deeply the scent of the cocoa and then blew on the steam that rose off it as her eyes drifted back over to Madison who was repeating herself. "Oh." She said, looking down at the marshmallows in her cup. Tiny white blobs floating around until they latched onto each other for what seemed like dear life as they melted together due to the heat from the chocolaty liquid they were bathing in. "Well, a couple reasons actually. Work, mostly. But I had family here, I'm looking for her. Haven’t told anyone that, actually." She glanced up to Madison. Sure, she seemed trustworthy.
Nelle hadn’t told anyone because no one had really asked. But truth was, she knew her long lost twin had lived here at one point - if not still did. She was looking for her, and no matter how long it took she was determined to find her. She glanced back down to her melting marshmallows and counted them. Her lips moved slightly as she did, counting to 12. She frowned. Even. An even number of marshmallows. She sighed and set her mug down without taking a drink just yet. Maybe they would melt together a little bit more and there would be an odd number. Hell, if they all melted together into one she would sip away happily until it was gone. She smiled at Madison again. Madison seemed easy to talk to for some reason.
Madison: Her pale blue eyes darkened some, not out of anger or malice, but out of hurt and suffering. Nelle hadn't meant to but she'd hit a sore spot when she said she was here looking for family. That was what had brought Adrian to Canada, to Harper Rock and to Madison. Her long lost cousin had found her and an unfortunate accident had pushed her to turn him instead of letting him die. But he had still died. Or at least she thought he was dead. She didn't know what had happened to her newest childe and family member. No one seemed to know what had happened to him.
"Her?" Madison couldn't help but ask but then realized she might be prying, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want. I understand that looking for family is very personal business."
Again Nelle wasn't looking at her. This time the woman's focus was on her cup of hot chocolate. Her mouth was moving as she stared at it but she wasn't speaking. Madison wondered if there was something wrong with the beverage, a hair floating among the marshmallows perhaps. When Nelle put the cup down, Madison looked at her with slight confusion and concern etched across her features. The look eased when Nelle smiled at her and she couldn't help but smile back before she asked, "Is your cocoa alright?"
Nelle: Nelle sighed ever so slightly. She felt like she had already told Madison enough, so what did it matter if she told her a bit more? "Yeah, her. I was told I'm a twin, about a week ago." She pursed her lips a little to the side. The news had come to her from her adoptive mother, the woman who had raised her by herself for the latter half of her life, who never told her that she was adopted until then. Nelle remembered being speechless. Unable to say anything towards what she was thinking or feeling about it. Now she just felt the need to find her. This other woman who was here, in Canada, and looked exactly like her. She raised her brows, looking down at the hot chocolate again.
Quickly she recounted the marshmallows. Eleven. One had either sunk below the others, or melted out right. She smiled and shook her head lightly before picking back up the cup. "Nope, not any more." She then blew on it briefly before tipping it up and taking a small swig. Hot. It was still hot. And it warmed her as it went down, right to her very core. Her smile was just as warm. "Mmm. Nothing like a good cup of hot cocoa to warm you up." She smirked gently and set it back down. "So, you had some stuff for me to fill out?"
Madison: "That must have been quite a shock to find out," Madison stated the obvious. She assumed that Nelle was either adopted or something along the lines of the Parent Trap had actually come to life. The telepath started to think that maybe she could help Nelle find her twin. Maybe it was because of Adrian that Madison wanted to help her or just because she could see how knowing affected Nelle, either way, she wanted to do something to help. Before she could open her mouth to offer, Nelle was yet again staring down at her cup.
"Oh, yes. The paperwork. It's right here."
Madison grabbed her messenger bag and pulled it into her lap, flipping open the top and pulling out a large manilla envelope from inside. Pushing the bag back onto the seat beside her, Madison adjusted her weight in the seat as she opened the envelope and pulled out a two-page packet that was stapled in the upper left corner at an angle. Placing the sheets on the table, she turned it so that Nelle could read what she was pointing out easily. With her finger she pointed as she explained, "This is just a form consenting me to perform a background check. Obviously as you're not from Canada, some of this is going to be a little off. I'll need your full name here....I guess I don't need your current address, but I'll need your previous one here. And where it says social insurance number, I'll need your social security number from the States. Lastly, here, I'll need your signature."

Re: Possible Tenant #1 (Nelle)
--The following transcript was a live chat roleplay--
Nelle: She slid the cup to the side slowly so as not to spill any of the chocolate drink onto the clean table that was now being dawned with business matters contained in a manilla envelope. Nelle watched Madison carefully, light blue hues glancing from her face to her hands to her hair to her paperwork. She liked how organized the woman was. This was clearly not an under the table negotiation. Nelle's shoulders drooped a little in realizing this. She hoped that not having a job right this second wouldn’t be an issue. God she hoped. She needed a bit of stability. She needed this.
Though her smile remained, it was clear the wind was taken out of her sails a bit. Though she didn’t hesitate to pull a pen from the side pocket of her own bag, uncapping it and putting the cap on the end for safe keeping - if you could call it that. Upon closer inspection the cap was clearly chewed up to high hell. She started filling out the form in elegant almost perfect looking cursive handwriting. "Yeah, your ad said seven fifty a month?" She brought it up, not looking up from the paper as she continued to fill it in. 601 Maricopa, Phoenix AZ, 85001. Scribed under the previous address just past Nelle Natalie Clausse scrawled in the full name section.
Madison: She tried not to be too nosy as Nelle started writing, it wasn't like she was never going to be able to read what was written when she was done. It was for her after all. Unlike Nelle mentally assumed, Madison was actually doing this under the table. Sort of. The paper work was an actual form of consent that would be needed, but it was more for show and having people hand over vital personal information was a lot easier to look up in her head than her having to hack and slash through systems to find the information about them she was looking for.
The pen scratched across the paper and Madison found herself idly staring at Nelle's handwriting. It was rather tidy and easily legible script. Not like the scribble-scrabble one-hundred percent of doctors used and majority of the male species. (Yes, men are their own species.) The loops in her letters were almost perfectly even through every letter, nearly as perfect as a scripted font on the computer. Madison never wrote in cursive herself, preferring to write in a hodgepodge mix of writing and script. Certain letters always seemed to run together.
"Yes," Madison replied to Nelle, "But not including utilities. So you'll have to factor that in with your income. I can give you an estimate how much of each costs though for the apartment."
She paused, realizing that Nelle's employment situation had never been mentioned, "Did you have trouble finding a job when you came up here?"
Nelle: Nelle read the document as she went along. She would never sign something that she hadnt read. No, she was quite thorough. Trailing the pen along the lines as she read them, indicating where she was on the paper as she continued to fill it out. Putting in her social security number and date of birth she finally nodded and moved her pen fluidly to sign her signature on the designated line. It was even more elegant and script like than her normal cursive. She found she was shaking her head lightly at Madison and stopped before speaking up.
"I’m not concerned about the costs. And in fact, can pay up front, several months in advance. I just inherited a substantial sum of money which-" She cut herself off to set the pen down and pull her bag to her lap, rummaging through it to pull out a green folder holding a significant amount of paperwork in it. She pulled the rubber band off of it and reached to slide Madison's paperwork back to her, giving her a smile of reassurance (whether that was for her or herself, Nelle wasn’t sure) in the process. She opened her folder and flipped through some papers, and if Madison was looking close enough she would have seen that they were papers to an estate. Pulling one out, she flipped it around and set it on the table.
"Bank statements as of yesterday. You could have six months paid in advance as early as tomorrow. And I am willing to pay up to a grand per month for residence."
Sure, she pushed aside the questions about finding a job. But that was only because she hadn’t been successful just yet. She had put in her resume to the local news station but they honestly seemed like they were fully staffed. She didn’t know what else to do and that concerned her. So she wasn’t quite sure how to tell Madison that exactly. She wasn’t sure she could even admit it to herself.
Madison: It took Madison by surprise when Nelle said that she would be willing to pay six months in advance. Her first instinct was to question whether or not the money was clean, not that it really mattered where the money came from or where it went after it was in her hands. It was more along the lines that Madison didn't want any drug dealers living in her apartment. She knew those sort and she didn't like the way they constantly had people coming in and out. But Nelle squashed those thoughts immediately as she pulled out a folder of her own to show Madison.
The vampire watched with interest the paperwork that Nelle was pulling out for her after sliding her own form back to her. She glanced down at the form, making sure it was all filled out. Her eyes darted back and forth from the papers in her hands that she was working back into the manilla envelope and the paperwork that Nelle was trying to show her. It seemed this little human was full of surprises for Madison tonight, the first of which being the odd aura the woman had about her and the second being how at ease Madison felt talking to her. She had barely been bothered by the social setting she was in due to how focused she was on the task at hand. Now she was willing to pay more than what was being asked for? How could Madison say no?
"I'm sorry for your loss Nelle," condoled Madison, "A grand a month is nothing to turn my nose up at, especially when I was only asking for seven-fifty. I do have to complete the background check yet and I have one other person interested though I don't know if they still will be if I change the rent on them. You seem like a really nice woman and I would like to help you. Both with a place to live and possibly finding your family."
Nelle: Nelle's plan seemingly had worked. She had offered more money, and also offered to pay it all up front. She let the folder rest of the edge of the table as she looked over at Madison who was talking again. She was sorry for her loss. Nelle stiffened up a little at that. She herself had just barely been able to get past the loss of her adoptive father. He had left her half his estate, the other half of which her adoptive mother held onto now. And her bank statement showed it. Nelle had come just as prepared in order to seal the deal that this would be her new place of residence. She nodded slowly, moving to pick up her mug once more and take a swig of the cooled chocolatey drink.
"Mmhm, thank you. Really, thank you. I just... need this. I need some stability here." Madison had mentioned another person being interested, and Nelle hoped that her money would still do all the talking. Sure, it was a bit of a tactic to lay that out on her, but Nelle felt she didn’t have any other choice at this point. Taking another swig, she finally set her mug back down and sighed. "I hope this works out..." She muttered, looking back out the giant window they were sitting next to. Looking at all the snow. White blankets everywhere. She needed this to work, and not just the living arrangement. But she needed to find her sister. And a job, too.
Madison: Nelle's change in posture didn't slip Madison's notice after her condolences. She wondered if she should have said anything about it. But Nelle made no comment on it and just took a drink of her beverage. Madison was glad that Nelle hadn't noticed that she hadn't even touched the water that she had ordered. The glass was still sitting where she had pushed it, a slight bit of condensation left on the outside of the glass though the napkin beneath it had a wet ring surrounding the bottom of the cup.
She nodded in response to what the other blonde had said about needing stability. Though one could argue that Madison's life had never been stable and while that statement would be true, Madison's life had never been more stable as it was at this particular moment in time. Sure there was always the possibility that she might piss someone off and die for it, but monetarily she was more than stable. Mentally and emotionally was a whole different story but very, very few people knew enough about her to know just how damaged she was on the inside. Apparent competence went a long way with people who never cared to look beyond the facade that she wore like a suit of armor.
"I hope it does too," Madison smiled at Nelle, "If it makes you feel better, I'm not too thrilled about the other person interested already and after this, it'll be hard going into that meeting without a bias. In fact, would you like to set up a time to view the apartment to make sure you want it?"
Nelle: Glancing back to Madison as she spoke, Nelle smiled. That did make her feel better. She brought up her mug of hot chocolate and tipped it back to finish it off. Setting it back to the table beside the folder, she shut the folder and shoved it back into her bag, flipping the top over to close the bag. She looked back over to Madison with her smile warming her facial features. "I would like that very much actually. Though I can assure you I do very much want it." She leaned in then, glancing to the side then looking back at Madison, "I mean, who wants to live in a quarantined zone? Doesn’t sound safe you ask me." She shook her head slightly and leaned back in her seat.
Reaching then she pulled her phone out of the corner pocket of her back after unzipping the pocket. Flipping through her phone book with her finger tapping lazily against the screen, she brought up 'APT' and turned the phone to show Madison the screen. "This is your number, yes? Just to make sure?" She asked, blinking a couple times before clearing her throat. Maybe she was coming down with a cold.
Madison: "The quarantine zone?" Madison questioned, feigning innocence to the knowledge she had, "People are living inside the quarantine zone? Why would anyone want to do that?"
She knew that someone had re-opened and rebuilt Corvidae Flats and she knew that people were living there, but she had foolishly believed that it was only vampires that were living inside the building. If whoever owned the apartments were selling them to humans too, that could mean a whole plethora of new problems. Any human that wanted to live in the quarantine zone probably wasn't helpful or good for vampires as a whole. Madison knew what happened to any actual humans that a vampire found in the quarantine zone. They became a quick and easy lunch.
Nelle pulled her phone out and when prompted, Madison looked to the screen that the human female was showing her. She nodded her head when she saw her phone number on the screen and smiled at the contact name. It could have been worse. Nelle was in her phone as 'Possible Tenant 1'. "Yup," she said as she leaned back in her seat, "That's it. Are you free a few nights from now?"
Nelle: Nelle nodded and pulled her phone back to herself, tapping against the screen. "Mhm, I'm free all this week. Just send me a text, or call me... you saved my number right?" She asked, making sure Madison had her number. She wasn’t going to let this deal go. Not without a fight. She changed the number in her phone to say 'Madison' instead of 'APT', smiling lightly as she exited out of her address book and then hit the power button on her phone quickly to shut the screen off before pushing it back into her bag. She had noticed the time on her phone, and couldn’t believe that so much had actually gone by while she had been sitting there with Madison. "Wow time flies." She mentioned, then looked back to Madison.
Madison: "Yes, I saved your number," Madison replied and pulled out her own phone, pulling up her contact list and selecting "Nelle - Possible Tenant" from the list. She turned her phone around and showed it to Nelle to make sure she had it right. "That's it correct?"
Once verified, Madison put the phone back to the home screen and turned the screen back-lighting off before slipping it back into her pocket. When Nelle mentioned something about the time, Madison looked up to the clock on the wall of the Station Net Cafe and was quite surprised herself with how much time had passed. "Indeed it does," she murmured, "Well if you have time, say tomorrow night or the night after, I'd be happy to show you the apartment."
Nelle: Nelle nodded at Madison. She did notice how pale the other woman looked, like she just didn’t do any kind of sunbathing at all. Nelle blinked then, realizing she was staring as she adverted her eyes to the table and then pulled her bag to her lap. "Of course, of course. That'd be great. If this goes through, It'll be nice to have a place to call home around here." She smiled a bright flashy white grin. Clearly the thought excited her. She could buy silly giant sized pictures and put them up on the walls, or even paintings. And she could go furniture shopping - that would be fun. Maybe Madison would like to help her decorate it. Then she had a thought. "Is it decorated already?" She asked, tipping her head slightly to the side curiously.
Madison: Madison shook her head in a negative fashion to Nelle's question, "No, no decorations. Just a few appliances. Refrigerator, stove slash oven, and I had a washer and dryer hook-up installed so those are new and you won't have to use the public laundry-mat like everyone else. Hardwood floors though that are new too. But if there's something you want to do to the place, just let me know. The only thing I ask is that you shy away from painting the walls a really dark color unless you are going to take care of that before you move out. Dark paint is hard to get rid of."
Nelle: Nelle listened intently, giving a slight nod every time Madison mentioned something that warranted it. She liked the idea of not having to go out to do her laundry - for all very good reasons to her she didn’t want to be slinging her dirty laundry over her shoulder and trucking it about the city. No, that wouldn’t do. Glancing to Madison's untouched glass of water, Nelle watched for a brief moment as a droplet of water trickled down the side of the glass. Looking back up, she nodded once more at Madison's last statement. "No worries. I wont be doing anything but putting the basics in it. Its really just temporary until I find my own place. Promise." And she meant it. Though she knew Madison had no reason to believe her other than the sincerity in her voice and the seriousness in her light blue eyes.
Madison: Madison forced a smile after catching Nelle look at her untouched water glass. Hopefully the girl would just think she hadn't really been thirsty. "Well if the background check goes well and you're happy with it, you're welcome to stay as long as you'd like. But knowing that you want it to just be temporary, if we move forward, I'll put you on a month to month lease instead of a year or six month long one. That way you only need to give me sixty days notice and aren't stuck in the contract."
Madison glanced back at the clock quickly, she was indeed actually getting thirsty but not for water, "Did we decide on tomorrow or the next day for the walk-through?"
Nelle: Nelle raised her brows at that. That would be really nice of Madison to do for her. Idly she wondered why Madison would be so nice to her, but the thought dissipated shortly after it spawned. Nelle shifted in her seat. She didn’t want to have to go back outside, really. But she figured it would be good to head to the hotel and get a nice hot shower in. She moved to shift out of her seat, nodding to Madison. "Tomorrow works just fine, thank you so much. I’m sure you have more important things to handle, besides babysitting an untouched glass of ice-water and myself." She jested, moving to put her jacket back on and setting her bag on her seat she had just been occupying.
Madison: Madison looked at her water again, more so for the hope and reason that Nelle wouldn't see the look of surprise that the human had really taken that much notice to her water glass. She composed herself, putting a pleasant smile on her face as she looked back at Nelle, "There are worse things I could be doing, like taxes or going through bills. I'll take care of the hot chocolate for you and I'll see you tomorrow night. Say same time, in the lobby of West Tower?"
Nelle: Nelle laughed lightly under her breath. Yeah, Madison had a point - who liked doing their taxes? She herself would have to find a tax professional this year - what with all the money she had inherited from her fathers passing. She raised her brows and then shook her head slightly as if to say no, but she figured that Madison was going to stay back for a few and fill out some more paperwork or something, seeing as how the woman didn’t stand when she did. She nodded a bit briskly and reached her hands into her pockets for her gloves that were custom made to be missing fingertips, pulling them on one at a time. "Oh yes, that would be wonderful. I shall see you then Madison."
She smiled and reached for her bag, slinging it over her shoulder before tucking one side of her jacket in under the other then giving a nod and turning to brave the cold past the exit of the station net cafe.
Madison: "Have a good night Nelle, it was a pleasure meeting you. Stay warm."
Madison watched as Nelle left the establishment and continued to watch her through the window until she disappeared from view. She seemed like a nice girl but Madison would see what her background check brought up. Turning her attention from the window, she flagged down the waiter and asked for the check. Once it was brought to her, she handed him the cash and a few looneys for a tip. Finally she gathered her things and stood herself before making her way to the exit. There was no reason to stay in the busy cafe and make herself uncomfortable when she could just tome home and do the work she needed to there.
