Lyana looked at him a bit curiously. "Who's Grandma? And why is she with Zo?" She was sure that Zo was the nickname of her employer. She smiled as they entered into the mall, and walked straight over to the shop. She unlocked it with the key she had, and moved inside. She sat her bags down on the counter, and ran back outside to put out her cigarette. She waved the smoke off from around her, and pulled out her perfume. She spritzed it around her and walked through it as she went back inside. She fired up the kitchen and went to work doing what she could. She tried to keep up the conversation as she worked. "So tell me about you and your family. I only have Madison right now. Well, and a few others, but we don't talk regularly. Cat and I do, but everyone else seems busy this time of year."

"Grandma and Zo are companions, partners, lovers, life partners, whatever you wish to call it. I haven't talked to Zodiac much but Mom respects her a lot. So on that alone I respect Zo. Basically a friend of my friend is a friend of mine sorta deal. Grandma is Temperance, or Tempy. She's Grandma because she adopted Mom as a child of her own, or something like that. A little before I came into the city," Simon shrugged as he explained the parts of history he knew about his vampire, and only by his standards, family. “What do you want to know about me and the family? I’m better at answering questions,” he walked in and sniffed a few times.

The remants of the cigar smoke mixed with the fresh perfume. Both created an odd mixture that ran up his nose. “If you want to know how I became what I am that’s an odd story. And there’s two different sides of it. Both are similar but the different views create a slightly different reasoning. I came into Harper Rock about two years ago. Like all other places I set up shop. Grifting with cards, three card monte that sorta thing. A beautiful woman walked up to my work station. She picked her card up and before I flipped over the card she told me to flip the other two first. She insisted,” his tongue clicked a few times in memory. Simon looked at Lyana, “I flipped over the two and the third went up. She saw that none were the lucky lady and the means to win. Seconds later I was getting my throat ripped out by something I thought was only a myth.”

He shrugged at any reaction Lyana may have had, “So I’m sitting there, slowly losing my life. I know I was dying. And really I wasn’t made. In fact I looked at the beautiful lady and said, ‘I knew I shouldn’t have picked you.’ I was ready to die. Breathing hard I felt the life slip away. Moments later the woman began putting me through the process of the embrace and here we are,” a smile was on his face as the story was told. “I believe it was pity. Mom says she embraced me because she heard me singing while I set up. Apparently she felt it was a waste to let it go, or something like that,” another shrug came forward. His view was going to remain and so would Cristiana’s he imagined.

Lyana looked at him as he talked about Zodiac and his Grandma, Temperance. She nodded, and continued listening as she moved around the kitchen getting things ready. She had almost gotten it all heated up. Most of it was precooked already and had thawed out during all the waiting around. She finished the last of the cooking, and shrugged. "So your Grandma? She is around? And your mom?" Lyana set the table, and looked up at the clock. It was already getting late, and she didn't know if anyone was coming anymore. It looked like it would just be them. She sighed, and sat down. Neither of them could eat it. Why she even tried, she didn't know. "Well, Happy Thanksgiving Simon. Thanks for coming. Eat if you can. If not..." She shrugged.
