Books. Hundreds if not thousands of books, all stored in one location. Of course, this location has four walls and is two stories tall, but it still holds countless books. Novels, diaries, biographies, history textbooks, how-to guides; the list goes on of the different types of books to be found inside the Honeymead Library. This fact was what kept one vampire, who had a tendency to break in far too often, from having a mental meltdown.
Hanei had learned a rough means of meditation after his experiences in exile, being constantly in hiding and on the run from his own kind. This had been due to the many attempts he had made on the lives of humans and vampires alike, all to please his dear Mother Death. She still was there in the back of his mind sometimes, but she had stopped talking to him for some time now. Months? Years? It felt like an eternity, and without her constantly reassuring and soothing voice to guide him...the serial killer felt alone. Totally, completely, alone. This wasn't what he had imagined would ever happen when he accepted Corin's offer to turn him...all that time ago, when he lay there dying ironically from the bullet wound of another serial killer.
In fact, Corin was the reason he was hear tonight, sitting on a table surrounded by books about the occult, meditating as he waited. She had promised to meet him here, because he needed someone, anyone, to talk to that might in some way care that he existed.

Corin walked into the library she was so running late to meet her childe but she wanted to get there for him because she had promised him she would be there. She had changed into her red panda form to get across town faster. She showed up at the door and quickly turned back into her normal form. When she had she also made sure her clothing was just right. She had on jeans, a long sleeved shirt, boots, and jacket. Walking into the room she looked around and spotted her childe and walked over to him. "Hello Hanei sweetheart. You doing okay today?"

Hanei opened his eyes slowly as he heard a voice address him, the separation of his consciousness from the meditation state requiring some patience. He blinked several times, to be sure his vision was clear, and then looked into his Sire's eyes. As was his custom, and his curse, he responded slowly, the breathing mildly labored.
Hello...Sire...and no...I am not..."okay"...today...or most days...at all...but that...is not your...fault...I am...merely a...lost soul...forever...wandering...in pain...sorrow...helplessness...
