[ooc: this is a transcript of an rp in yim]
Abelle Aster Worthington: There was a level of stress that the young girl was under. It had been her marriage only a few days before and still they hadnt gotten to the honeymoon due to circumstances that were becoming a rather pest. Sliding into her office chair, she leaned over the desk in search of new employees, a manager for one. A sly little smile peeked over her lips as she thought back to Luffy quiting. Everyday she was begining to feel more wicked and vindictive. The killer inside was taking over and she knew it, her heart was only open to a few and thats the way she liked it. Hoping Hagen would be there soon, she kicked off her shoes and relaxed, thinking of what she might say when he did finally appear.
Hagen von Drol: He had gotten her e-mail and now was on the way to the office. He had thought about quiting too, when Luffy who was of the same blood as he was killed, but then considered that attitude unprofessional. The tone of the e-mail by his boss surprised him though. Those things on his mind he knocked on the door of the editor's office.
Abelle Aster Worthington: The knock surprisingly took her off guard, in her trance of deep thought. "Come in," she said with a monotone voice. She was sure it was him, or maybe someone who came to try and kill her, either way she wasn’t incredibly worried about it.
Hagen von Drol: He opened the door and stepped in, dressed in his old fashioned black suit, more fitting for the Victorian era than for the present day. "Good eve, Abelle. And congratulations to your wedding. You wanted to speak to me?" He bowed his head slightly as he stepped in.
Abelle Aster Worthington: Her eyes caught his immediately, as she noddded in return. "Please have a seat Hagen..." she motioned at the chair across from her and sat back in thought for a moment, deciding on how to approach the situation from a civilized point of view. "Let me guess...your here to defend Luffy?" she tried hard not to smirk as she watched him.
Hagen von Drol: "I am here because you invited me over to your office" he spoke, and took a seat. "But I have to admit I wasn't happy when I see my colleague got killed and then quit. I liked the Viking Ventures."
Abelle Aster Worthington: "Well Hagen...sometime business is just business," sitting back she crossed one leg over the other and just stared for a moment. She knew where her loyalties stood and no one would convince her otherwise. "I too liked Viking Ventures...I like you all to be honest, never wish to see any of you go," she shrugged and looked down at her desk that held resumes of all different sorts. "Trashing me to the public eye while your employed under me is unacceptable however," bringing her finger to her lips she pondered. "I pardon none regardless of employment status...do you think I should?"
Hagen von Drol: "I did not see this as trashing you, that was not my intention", his pale green eyes narrowing as he replied. "I posted to honour a fallen colleague and blood 'sibling'. I did not agree with his views on these matters, but I'd say that as a journalist he had a right to speak out. Or did he ever raise a hand to attack you or any at Tytonidae?"
Abelle Aster Worthington: "I definitely see it as trashing," she shook her head in frustration. "I believe your words were killed by his own editor for speaking his mind," she said rather dramatically as she mimicked him. "As i said..there is no pardon because you guys park your asses in my office from time to time. I've always given you both my outmost respect, but when duty calls it calls. Would you defend your family and friends if the time came?" she tucked her leg under her, not at all used to this professional attitude thing.
Hagen von Drol: "yes I would" he nodded with determination, but then after a pause, added. "So you see your attack on him as a matter of defence? How did he attack you though, your or your family and friends? I've never heard about him taking part in those battles going on."
Abelle Aster Worthington: "It was personal I guess you could say, to a lot of my faction members and besides...I don’t exactly have to give a reason as to why I helped kill him," she nodded as she felt more confident as of late. Rising from her seat she peaked out of her window and then back at him. "It's like when soldier go into battle...they don’t always know the and's and if's, they just do what they are trained to do," leaning against the window ledge she stared at him. "I was born to kill and perhaps that puts everyone at risk when they deal with me but I don’t see it as a curse at all. Luffy will get over it or he wont...I've already found a new manager with higher skills, so really it worked out for the best," she knew she sounded like a real *****, but the words really didn’t register with her until they came.
Hagen von Drol: He shook his head at her replies, "so actually the previous statement about friends and family was irrelevant. You just made clear that your factions mean all to you and your employees nothing. I don't think that that's what one would call an encouraging work environment."
Abelle Aster Worthington: "My faction comes first Hagen...business and then outsiders... you can't fault me for that. My partner is there, my maker, friends, employees," she eyed him and sighed. "Its home for me, how could I not put them first?"

Re: In the office of the killer ***** [Abelle and Hagen]
Hagen von Drol: He was beginning to understand her mindset and nodded, asking "did you ever to talk to him about the matters that lead to his demise beforehand? Told him to correct whatever he did wrong in your faction's eyes?"
Abelle Aster Worthington: "I don’t have to discuss with every person what they did wrong...I'm going to go ahead and assume that if you get your *** kicked, it was most definitely for a reason," she ran her fingers through the long ginger curls and threw up her hands. "Hell...if I got everyone sides of the stories I wouldn’t kill anyone at all..usually at least anyway," taking a seat back down she looked him over again. "I understand your concern over Luffy...I truly do, but understand my stance on defending my family."
Hagen von Drol: "He is part of my family", he spoke, more and more coing to the realization that this discussion was being pointless. "I don't know the real reasons why he was killed and most likely will never find out. But you killed Luffy to 'defend your family' even though you agreed he was no physical threat. Do you expect me to not stand by my family at all?"
Abelle Aster Worthington: She nodded in understanding. "As you should...as I do the same," she opened her tablet and fiddled with it for a few, not understanding the age of electronics. "I hate these things," she grumbled and cursed under her breath. She thought about telling him they were both expendable, but it just didn’t seem right. She liked Hagen, she valued him, but they needed to come to an agreement. "Do you wish to still be employed under Harper Rock News?" she lifted her eyes up to his for a brief moment to hear his response.
Hagen von Drol: This of course was the hard question, the question he had not yet answered for himself. It was obvious that he didn't agree with her on so many fundamental things and the rift seemed unbridgeable at least for the moment. On the other hand he was grateful for the opportunity she had given him to work for her paper. "Do you respect the right of a journalist to speak his opinion? Even if it is against your own faction?" He asked now. That was the breaking point for him.
Abelle Aster Worthington: "Freedom to speak yes...freedom to trash my name while employed under me..no," she thought for a moment. "But understand...even if you or anyone else voices their opinions doesn’t mean I wont take action in kicking some ***," just the words alone made her body tingle with excitement. "I'm a killer first and friend second. I don’t employee to be friends...I employee to get the work done expediently. No one gets pardoned...at all," folding her hands in front of her, she hoped it was good enough as there was little else she could say to keep him in his position.
Hagen von Drol: "I didn't ask to be your friend when I started out here." he replied, the decision forming more and more clearly in his mind. But he knew he would lose something no matter which path he took, so he wanted all things to be clear before he told her his decision. "This is not about friendship but about a professional work environment at the paper. You said your a killer first and a friend second. Does that mean you are an editor third? Fourth? Last?"
Abelle Aster Worthington: "I love my newspaper and worked very hard on it...I'd like to say its first but...it just isn’t. I have to look out for my well being before anything else," she closed her tablet and grabbed her backpack from under the desk. Standing up she motioned to the door as she was to follow behind him. "I'd like to keep you Hagen, you do a wonderful job, have never given me any troubles until the statement in the streets," she sighed and tried to suck up her pride., It was quite the chore as of late. "If you wish to stay then I will have you, if not then it was a pleasure for as long as it lasted," she locked the door behind her and nodded to another employee walking by." Not everyone does a good job like you," she said loud enough for anyone passing would hear.
Hagen von Drol: "I think it would be more save for me to quit" he spoke raising from his chair now too, getting ready to leave. "But if I take my job serious I cannot chose the save option always. I will stay. But don't expect me to sugar coat my words. I've been hired as a journalist not as a writer of propaganda." He looked her in the eyes as he spoke. He had been doubting sometimes during the conversation, turning the arguments back and forth in his mind, but now he would stand by what he said in the end.
Abelle Aster Worthington: "As long as we both understand each other, I cant see this NOT working," searching for her bike keys, she smiled up at him, satisfied he decided to stay, even if he did sound relentless. Tilting her head up, she gave a convincing smile. "Tell Luffy to come see me after he returns and again this was all business...nothing personal against you," as they walked through the lobby, she took in her surroundings and smiled. She had done good thus far and would continue to rock the city with her presence. "Next time you do books, can you be sure to put a holiday bonus in the checks...nothing over 100 please but nothing under 50...cant have me sounding cheap along with malicious."
Hagen von Drol: "I will", he replied, a little half smile on his face. He didn't thing he'd ever become friends with this woman. But this was the best newspaper in Harper Rock. Even now with one of its best writers gone. Hagen though would not leave, but instead try harder to have the paper retain its leading status.
Abelle Aster Worthington: She looked down at her phone and rolled her eyes. It was time to interview yet another potential employee. "Have a great evening Hagen, see you soon," she waved and made her way BACK to her office.
Hagen von Drol: "Same to you", he replied, "and good luck with your next killing." Unlike many others in the city he basically agreed with most of what he saw Tytonidae doing. Even though he had never been very fond of them. Luffy's killing was an exception, something that still felt very wrong to him. But it seemed Abelle herself even didn't know why he had to die. So it was not what it first seemed liked. It was not journalist killed by his editor for voicing different opinions.
