If she was able to blush, Alexandrea would have.

"Well perhaps it is just as well for me that it isn't like Marksmanship, considering I'm an absolute klutz when it comes to firearms." Alex gave a slight chuckle and looked at Elliot apologetically. "Cheating. Yes, that is one way to put it. But you guessed correctly. I wouldn't use that ability on... 'my beloved' even if I could. He would hate that. He would feel it was an intrusion." She sighed slightly. 'My beloved'. She liked the sound of that but the thought also made her anxious and she shivered.

But the feeling passed and she laughed gently as Elliot brought up sports teams and not expecting a mall to have a mascot and then looked around as if he could spot Orin near by. "Well, I think of him as the mall mascot. He's that shark in the tank just passed the first aid room and next to the rock climbing wall. Surely you've seen him when you passed by that way? He is actually pretty sweet. For a shark." Leaning close and talking in a whisper she went on; "Of course the fact that I sometimes feed him the heads of the hunters who hate us might have something to do with his pleasant nature towards me."

The waiter happened to return right after that and Alex quickly scanned the take out menu and then placed her order, writing down the address of her shop as the place for the food to be delivered. It would take awhile to prepare such a large order and Alexandrea was sure by the time it arrived she would already be back there after she collected her harp from Elliot's store.

"Are you sure you don't want to try one? Before I eat them all?" She asked her friend as she took one of the last two egg rolls.

No sooner had Alexandrea mentioned feeding hunters’ heads to sharks that she asked Elliot if he wanted an egg roll. He cleared his throat, and shook his head. This was the kind of thing he wasn’t sure he’d ever get used to. He couldn’t laugh about feeding anyone’s head to the fishes, regardless of the fact that those heads might once have belonged to overenthusiastic zealots who wanted nothing more than the death of all vampires.

”…Hope you don’t go feeding heads to a shark in the middle of a mall full of humans,” Elliot said, half wondering how she might go about feeding full heads to the creature, anyway. Now that he thought about it, he did remember seeing the tank, though he hadn’t really paid much attention to what was inside. He’d done a tour of the mall when he’d first bought his shop—had done a tour so that he could figure out which was the best vacant shop to take. He liked the one that he’d picked—on the corner, just by the escalators, and thus close to the foot traffic between the levels. His shop was also viewable as soon as one entered the mall from the front. And, with that entrance right there, he had no need to travel anywhere else in the mall. He came through that entrance, went to work, and then left again. Malls were never Elliot’s favourite places.

”I’ll have to go and have a look one of these nights,” Elliot said, in a bid to vanquish any ill-will or discomfort. He had to understand that most vampires in this city weren’t quite as sensitive as he was. Hunters were people to be loathed, of course, he knew that. It wasn’t beyond reasonable assumption that some people would feel such strong dislike for them that they would relish the thought of feeding missing appendages to predators of the sea.

Regardless, the mere thought of it made Elliot squeamish. Yeah, he could hold his own in battle. He could sever heads like the best of them, could do so with a particular glee that he always suppressed. But he wouldn’t boast about it. Wouldn’t show off, were he to suddenly have an audience.

"Oh, I only fed Orin when there is no one around or when the mall is closed." Alex reassured Elliott. "And when Odin isn't around, Orin belongs to him and he might not approve of my giving his shark treats." She shrugged her shoulders. "Course he might not give a darn either but I am quite fond of that big old fishy and I like to spoil him. In return he lets me swim with him."

Finishing up her snack, Alexandrea paid the check and left a generous tip. "So I bet my harp is ready to go. Are you? We go right passed my own store on the way back, do you think I could get you to stop in and take a look? It's fine if you don't have time of course."

Alex gave him a friendly wink and a warm smile. It really would be alright if he said no and she hoped he knew that and wouldn't feel as if Alexandrea was pressuring him. "It would give us more time to catch up... You know I don't even know if you are seeing someone? What's the scoop on that, Lanky?" She waggled an eyebrow at her friend, teasing with with the old nickname. "If you aren't I have a friend I bet you already know who is single and a part of your bloodline. She's my oldest friend in the world actually. Madison is her name."
