- Ooc note: This starts off in the Honeymead library at a book signing. If the owner of the library does not approve please message me at Maryann.potv and I will edit it.
The sun had finally set, and this meant that Maryann could sneak out her window. Her parents had been passed out for the last few hours, and chances were they wouldn't be waking till morning. Although the apartment was on the second floor she didn't have any trouble. The large oak tree outside her window had been her escape for years and it had never failed her yet. Many a time she had crawled out on to its outreaching limbs to hide from the people inside the apartment or to escape altogether. After dropping to the ground she pulled her hoodie tighter around her and zipped it up. She picked her messenger bag off the ground and headed toward Honeymead. No, there wasn't a party going on, which is where might expect an 18 year old to be sneaking out of the house to. The girl never went to parties, as she wasn't invited for one, two it wasn't worth the risk of leaving the house. This was a book signing and Maryann wouldn't had missed it for the world. John Green was actually in Harper Rock. All his books were in her side back. And she was about to meet him and he was going to sign them! There was absolutely no way in the world this night could go wrong, no matter what happened.
Or so she thought.
No one seemed to notice her though her entire trip. She was good at blending in to her surroundings like that. The less people that noticed her the less questions she had to answer about bruises or why she was so thin. She was convinced that the less people who knew she exist the better. Only place she stood out was in the classroom. She received several academic scholarships based on her 4.25 GPA though high school and this was the only way she was able to afford school. She worked as a waitress in the evenings but that money barely kept food on the table and books on her shelves. But in crowds like this? She might as well been someone's shadow for all the attention she drew to herself. No one so much as looked at her. Except when she reached the font of the line and John Green took her books. He comment on how he liked her Nerfighteria DFTBA hoodie. She slipped toward the back of the library, her signed treasures safely back in her bag as she browsed the new arrivals. Nothing new had come in the last few days. Oh well, she needed to be getting home anyways encase her parents woke up. So as quietly as she came in, she slipped back out in to the night air.

Re: A New Chapter (Liam Goodryk)
Social gatherings always held Liams interest, it was in his blood you could say, literally. A book signing was no different, and he happened to be spending a lot of time in the Honeymead area anyway for the last couple of days. Not that it really mattered where he might have been, it would have taken him mere moments to get here. A book signing was no different, except to offer a different type of crowd, one which Liam had little experience with. He stood at the back, watching, listening, observing, for no real reason other then enjoying the hustle and bustle of social events.
He had not sired anyone new in a long time, except for the girl who called herself Unique, which happened very recently, but only one was not enough, nowhere near enough, for Liam. Well there was that one girl in the alleyway he left to go rogue on her own the other week after making her watch the slaughter of a murder of her husband, or boyfriend, or whatever he was to her. No, he needed more, a lot more perhaps. The need to sire was becoming strong in him, and he did not understand why. There were lots of things happening in him right now that made no sense, though in truth he cared little, which in itself was another change within the allurist vampire.
It did not take long before Liams attention was caught by the girl slipping through the crowd, obviously wanting to not be noticed by anyone else before or after her books were signed.
“Perfect” Liam thought inwardly to himself “I am willing to bet she would make an excellent shadow.”
He followed her as she left the library in Honeymead, waiting a few moments after she left before he followed, making sure to catch her scent so he could follow her more easily should he happen to lose sight of her through the streets before he could catch her somewhere secluded and make her the offer of her lifetime.
