Tiamat walked through the city streets with her grocery bags. She paused and took a deep breath in with a smile on her lips. She was pretty happy with her life right now. She had a place to live and a woman to love. They’d gone out to a fun party where they dressed up like comic book heroes. Granted the other one didn’t really want to be there and only went to entertain Tia, but she went anyway. She tucked her jet black locks behind her ears. She turned and headed back to the apartment building. That’s when she heard it.
A small group of men came running out of a small market. The shop keeper came running out after them and opened fire with a shotgun. She watched one of the young man’s chest explode as he got shot from behind. She quickly turned the other way and ducked down an alley. She had no intention of spending the next few hours being grilled by the local police. Then another shot rang out in the street. The wall beside her head exploded, sending the girl to her knees as chunks of brick flew through the air.
She ducked down the alley quickly and then ran back to the apartment. She used the elevator ride up to catch her breath. The doors slide open on her floor and she ran down the hall to her apartment and slammed the door open.
“Ivy,” she shouted. “we need to talk.”

Re: A Shot in the Dark
Ivy was relaxing, her day off work and with nothing troubling her yet, she'd taken a bath and was sitting in the kitchen in her old camo gear, amazed it even fit with her current body but she daren't complain lest it be taken from her... Again. The Russian was attempting to dry her hair when she came under attack by tiny claws and a mewing that meant her kitten was hungry. Dropping the towel on the kitten's head with a soft giggle before grabbing both the animal and its food bowl and carried them to the fridge.
"Da ok, will feed you stop crying little Kitty... Tell me Kitty; why does little bear need all this food? Is only one who able eat it!"
She eyed the fridge contents and grumbled, all foods she once loved but could now never touch, her curse to bear for eternal youth, grabbing the cat food she emptied half a can into the bowl and set both her cat and the bowl back on the floor, lifting the leg of her pants to see the claw marks healing quickly. With that checked and the animal fed, she could go back to relaxing and took her place on the couch, at least that was until the door just open and revealed Tia covered in brick dust and clearly frazzled about something... She wasn't going to get her break today that much was obvious.
"little bear? What wrong, why are messy?"

Tia set the bags on floor in front of her and took a deep breath. She actually had to calm herself down. Of all things she had done and seen, tonight’s near miss actually scared her. When that child took at shot and hit her suitcase, she hadn’t been frightened, so why tonight? Perhaps the time she’d spent around Ivy had something to do with it. The fact she had something worth being around. She had begun to change her view on her life.
“I…nearly got shot tonight. Some guys robbed a store. The owner killed one then there was more shooting. I don’t know who did it, but a bullet hit a wall right next to my head. “
She paused and took a breath as she looked around the apartment. “Ivy, I love you and I want to spend forever with you. Tonight as just proven that in order for it to happen I need to become like you. I need to become a vampire.”

Re: A Shot in the Dark
The woman's complaint wasn't uncommon, people were shot or stabbed just crossing the road in this city, she was pretty certain Tiamat had witnessed one of Ivy's many deaths too so why being shot at was now suddenly bothering the human put the Russian on edge. She eyed the bags for a moment to distract herself from the very apparent decision that Tia had made. Only a few weeks prior had the turning been suggested and the human said no, so why the change of heart?
''Little bear, how many time you been shot at already? Why one little bullet bother so much hmm? What wrong?''
She moved to hug the human, gently holding the woman in her grasp with a sigh, she knew eventually this time would have come but now? So soon? And for such a lame-*** reason.. No, there was more than wasn't being told here and Ivy would have to find out before even thinking of turning the woman. Letting Tiamat go, she picked up the bags and moved them up onto the table before turning to watch her girlfriend closely, concern in her eyes.
''If they robbing store, why did shoot at you? What you do to piss them off? Surely not just shoot for no reason, only vampire do that.''

She raised an eyebrow at the questions that Ivy was asking her. She brushed the dust off her shoulders and looked at the woman in front of her. As Ivy set the bags in the kitchen, Tia placed her hands on her hips. A frown crossed her face as she stood in the apartment.
“I didn’t do anything this time to earn getting shot at Ivy. Not to mention that a wall exploded next to my head. I have no why I got shot at, but I didn’t like it this time.”
She took an apple from the fridge and bit into it. “Seriously Ivy, if I’m going to keep getting shot at, I’d like to be immortal for it. I’d rather not die and lose you. That wouldn’t be very fun for me.” She walked over and kissed the woman’s lips. “So let’s do this quickly yes?”
