A Tale of a Queen

Post by Mama Sisya »

Note: It took me some time but I figured I should bring a bit of Mama Sisya's background into play... well more like memories. Up until she becomes Queen Mother. I will most likely just refer to her as 'She' while writing unless for some reason, I actually bring out conversations. I want it to feel more like memories than actually single RP.

It is also going to be edit by 'age' hence there will be a lot of posts... breaking things up over time. Hence the links... to make it easier to 'follow' and read. As I'm just going to go with whatever comes to mind and put it here in no order.

She stared at the ill sacred tree in her village, standing tall at the young age of eight years old. Her mother, the Queen Mother had them bring a female cow, prays were given as the cow throat was sliced open with the crescent arched knife. She knelt before the cow as her younger sister gathered the blood from the creature’s throat. Her mother took the bowl and motioned for her to bring the fresh milk forward, as well as the butter than had been made while Mawu was still in the sky watching over them. She knelt before her mother as her sister took the bowl of milk from her hands and as their mother said the prayers and asked for the spirits to aid the sacred tree they stepped forward and smeared the butter, blood and milk.

The village cried and shouted once the ritual had been done and her mother smiled a hand placed on the top of her daughter’s forehead she grinned. The campfire was set there in front of the sickly tree, to give it energy from the fire, which was given to them to shine in the night sky. To remind them that Lisa would come again, and that one should not give up. Of course there was more to this, it was to keep the wild and dangerous animals away… or at least help. Yet in her eyes it was more than that. It was powerful, magical. She knew one day, she would direct their people, which they would heal the sick, they would pray over the dead, they would talk to the ancestors, the spirits and grow wiser.

Taken her younger sister’s hand that night she squeezed it tight. A grin plated on her face as they took turn telling stories to the rest of the villagers. Things they had learned, things they recalled. Life was given to them by Mawu, but they lived within Lisa’s light. How could that ever change? In her eyes, it wouldn’t be able to do so. Not then… she had no idea what the Spirits would ask of her, no idea what the Gods would ask of her… no idea of the future she had. Only thing that she knew for sure and believed with all her heart was that she would grow old and die in this place, taken care of her people... and training the future Queen Mother.
